No... WTF? Have you ever been on a Gerstlauer Eurofighter?
-
No. Have you ever used this smiley to describe Arrow/Togo/Vekoma:

@ jmicha: There has been an ongoing feud between Intamin and Magnetar Technologies, the original Intamin patent was for DROP TOWERS, but then Intamin tried to sue for a company (can't remember who) for using magnetic brakes on a roller coaster and they succeeded (seemingly for infringing the patent). This is both a drop tower and a coaster, so Intamin with their deep pockets will get money out of this somehow. http://www.kmob.com/news.cfm?nid=4

This is looking seriously awesome. Thi13teen's drop section was more like a frog hopper, this is going to be a proper drop... AWESOME! This is looking much better than I could have anticipated, after seeing the outlines for the layout I was a bit , but after it being announced and seeing this proper drop I am now . It seems that Verbolten corrects all the "not so great" elements of Thi13teen with what should be a better coaster part and a better drop.

^ Whereabouts did you hear this? It sounds awesome, but it is not "new" as such. According to Wikipedia SheiKra and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit use the system you are describing. Raptor uses mounted cameras. I would love to see a movie with effects inkeeping with the theme. -

@Lamoure Saw: The Ride was pretty smooth during its opening year, just a small amount of headbanging. I haven't been since... @Schotcher: Most aren't sand filled, particularly in the USA. It is normally for sound reasons, I mean, what is the point of filling a big coaster with sand when you needn't? It tends to be in Europe: Daemonen, Air and Nemesis Inferno are filled with sand, where noise is a big issue. -

There is no definitive list I can find but Nemesis is definitely not sand filled, I don't think Dragon Khan is... Those are the only two I have ridden in recent memory that I remember a roar on. -

I'm pretty excited about this, could someone who has ridden Extremis explain how it rides, is it just a single drop? I do find it slightly odd how they have installed this only two years after Thirteen, a mini drop tower two years after a coaster with a mini drop tower incorporated into the coaster. One final thing, I don't think this has anything to do with the voting for the king of the park as a few people suggest around the web. Nemesis and Thirteen are the only two coasters themed well enough to have a side attraction, but why would they build a drop tower themed to Thirteen??? -
A New Life For A Wooden Mouse

So you are buying it on your own and restoring it on your own (I presume). If you are doing this I take my hat off to you, you have a choice of two Indonesian or two Australian ones (you are not taking the Blackpool one, I love that ride), unless you are buying a dismantled one? I rememember reading on another forum somewhere there was a mouse to purchase from Australia fo $50000 so I think you might have a little plausability. I don't know how to respond to this, but if you are going ahead keep it classic and simple... -
^ Sorry if you read it as me telling you your opinion is wrong, I was just trying to say I personally did not find the drop to be as awesome as I expected, you have ridden many coasters and I agree with pretty much all of your views on coasters. Also of course I don't read everything on the internet as 100% fact...

I think the LIM rumour has some plausibility, HangOver at Liseberg was originally intended to launch: I honestly do not know what to expect from these new trains, I don't see how a lapbar only would work with a vertical lift/launch backwards, but I could be wrong, I think we are going to see an all new design from Premier, I am hoping for a vest style restraint. I am wondering is this why the video was so wafflely and vague? Is it because they hadn't got the final details in place about the ride? The video was awful...

B&M coasters are like the Rolls Royce of coasters, it isn't really the fact that launches are unreliable, LIM/LSM launches are really reliable (if you get them properly encased) (hydraulic, compressed air and tire driven not so much), it is making a B&M train which weighs a huge amount accelerate at the same rate as say an Intamin. And once you have done so you also have to think about the cost per launch...

What???? When did I ever "make you believe" this? I don't think I've ever talked to you. Do not ever put words in my mouth again. Thank you. --Robb "Who really likes Mumbo Jumbo!" Alvey On one of your of you trip reports to Flamingo Land: It is a good coaster but not as good as expected. I suppose I couldn't really enjoy it because the ride ops pushed down my restraint really hard and we had been waiting over an hour for it since they were only operating two cars dispatching once every one and a half minutes...
-
Lose my foot... If you had a roller coaster which would you prefer it to come top in: Mitch Hawker Poll or Golden Ticket Awards?
-
As I said in my original post I am not the biggest fan of Mumbo Jumbo, I found it smooth but incredibly dull... I found the drop to be really tame, and that outward bank curve just seemed pointless, I really wanted it to be good but it is what S&S describe it as, a family thrill coaster. The first drop would be way better without trims IMO, it wasn't the OH S__T moment that Robb had me believe but instead an OH THAT WAS A BIT S__T moment. (End Rant)

You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

You might be a coaster nerd if when you opened your GCSE Physics exam and it showed Patriot at Worlds Of Fun, and afterwards you write an email to the exam board because they said it was 200 ft tall and the hill (which was in fact the zero g roll) was 100ft... TRUE STORY... -

^ I don't get what you mean... In the video it shows the train with traditional OTSRs rather than the vest ones. I think this pretty much confirms that for the moment that the standard OTSRs remain as...standard! I absolutely have no problem with this, those OTSRs are awesome and found the new style ones to be more restraining. Let the moaning commence...
