  1. I miss AT so much, I haven't been this year yet... I just want to ride Nemesis again so badly!
  2. Nemesis - It just is awesome, there is no way of really describing it, it just keeps on getting quicker and more intense throughout the ride. Honorable mention: Blue Fire - So smooth, good launch, very intense (the turn after the loop and the final barrel roll). Excellent restraint system make the ride. Tonnerre de Zeus - Crazy ride, shakes you around but the pacing and airtime is phenomenal. Honorable mention: Grand National - Awesome classic, great airtime, but the pacing as you go round the corner is too slow to make this my number 1.
  3. I would. Beer or Wine?
  4. Arizona California Georgia Nevada South Carolina
  5. Superman Ultimate Flight (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom)
  6. Next year I will be able to drive so: Definitely: Alton Towers (0 New Credits) - 5 April 2012 Adventure Island (5 New Credits) Blackpool (1 New Credit) - 13 April 2012 Chessington (4 New Credits) Drayton Manor (0 New Credits) Gulliver's Matlock (2 New Credits) Legoland Windsor (2 New Credits) Hopefully: Camelot Theme Park (5 New Credits) Fantasy Island (5 New Credits) Gulliver's Warrington (3 New Credits) Lightwater Valley (5 New Credits) Oakwood (4 New Credits) Paultons Park (3 New Credits) DONE: Thorpe Park (1 New Credit) - 1 April 2012
  7. Great interview, although I honestly don't care if the Gordon Rides guy was as dull as f***, they are offering (as a concept) an inverted wood coaster. I'm really hoping this gets built...
  8. Yes Have you ever ridden a Mitch Hawker Top 10 Steel or Wood Coaster?
  9. Losing all your possesions. What is worse than a Zamperla Volare?
  10. Bizarro (Not that I have been on either of them) Zamperla Volare or Chance Tobbogan?
  11. I think Raptor at Gardaland is cool...
  12. It has pretty much been confirmed it is a B&M hyper coaster (whether it is the normal config. or Behemoth config. we don't know yet, there have been sketches on PA community showing the normal design), don't get me wrong I am a huge Blue Fire fan (it is my number 2 coaster easily, it is spectacular), and I am following the rumour about Etnaland's 2012 Mack-a-lite closely.
  13. Out of the two European parks I have been to this year (Europa and Gardaland) they didn't check the restraints on any of the coasters. From what I can tell it is your responsibility to make an attendant aware if you think there is something wrong with the restraint. If a ride attendant doesn't check me, I just wiggle the restraint and if it stays there I'm fine. This has happened to me on Nemesis @ AT when I was sitting in the middle seats...
  14. When is this thing gonna be announced... I'm waiting!
  15. I know how it feels, the shame of riding Big Apple at WMSP on your own with little kids (my family did not wish to join me). Did any of the Brit Crew see what was going on by G Force where Black Revolver used to be (in the bottom left of the picture)? Construction seems to have progressed, but I have no idea what it is. Thanks, RollerCoasterSmith
  16. From Screamscape: I'm getting quite excited about this coaster (even though I am not a Mumbo Jumbo fan). If the rumours are correct I think this could be a good addition: - Just over 100 days from track arriving it will be open. - For something like an El Loco, taller can't be a bad thing right (don't get onto the Mega Lite argument here)? - 4 across seating, means double capacity so it could have a capacity of 1440 pph (standard ones have 720 pph) My only concern is what the name will be, if it is following the Six Flags it will be something like: Green Lantern: Face The Drop RollerCoasterSmith
  17. Even though I probably will never visit, I would like to see the large version get built: Track Length 1800' (550 M) Height 130' (40 M) Width 230' (70 M) Depth 40' (15 M) # of cars 7/8 (720 pph) Circuit Time 120 seconds Dispatch Interval 20 seconds It could be the world's steepest coaster easily, because Steel Hawg was originally meant to be 120 degrees, Takabisha is 122 degrees. I personally don't see the point of building one if you aren't going for a record. RollerCoasterSmith
  18. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Warner Bros. Movie World, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index WBMW Page Page. Warner Bros. Spooky Coaster has reopened! -------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: Hey, I found this on Screamscape and couldn't find the news on TPR, so I created this thread. I have only ridden one El Loco (if it is going to be one) which was Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingoland, and honestly I was quite underwhelmed, it really didn't do anything for me. I hope it is the big version rather than the standard. What do you think? Thank you, RollerCoasterSmith
  19. What a ridiculous statement! B&M are just re-using the design and will have suggested it to them, I doubt Six Flags asked for it themselves! Anyway, these things had better be intense and not as forceless as Raptor looks. Firstly it isn't a ridiculous statement, and from the evidence I see Thorpe should be angry, I would if I was one of the Thorpe team, because I know for one Thorpe really wanted to create something unique in the world and so they created what will probably be an awesome first drop, and now they have been denied this. I think people should hold B&M responsible for this. They are too similar for my liking: they both start off with the same drop, both then have a zero g roll, X Flight has an Immelman and Swarm has an incline, they both then have a corkscrew/zero g type inversion and then an inline twist. Both are about 120 ft. Six Flags Great America asked B&M for a coaster and it seems B&M took Swarm, changed it ever so slightly and gave it to Great America for what: $5-8 million dollars less for a slightly longer coaster (I know theming and lanscaping etc. may make up for some of this). FInally I wish people would stop commenting on how forceless Raptor is, I ever since riding it have been a massive Raptor fan, and I can tell you it is pretty forceful (not on a scale of Nemesis, but significantly more than Air). Raptor is not designed to be forceful, it is designed to be well themed, well paced and unique riding coaster. All of which it superceeds in.
  20. Wild Eagle at Dollywood has been added, get voting again!
  21. ^^^ Erm... Not quite: But it will definitely be the first in the UK... Cheers, RollerCoasterSmith
  22. Hey, With a plethora of coasters coming next year, which coaster are you most excited about coming to next year? After searching I couldn't find a poll for the 2012 coasters (If one has been created please lock). I have limited it to Northern American and European parks since many people will never visit the Asian parks (I had real difficulty not including the Hi5 coaster at Happy Valley Wuhan). I think I have put all the main ones up, if not just say below. I'm most excited about Swarm at Thorpe Park, because it is the only big coaster announced for the UK next year. Thank you, RollerCoasterSmith
  23. Does anyone else think that the immelman looks too small in comparison to the first drop. It definitely looks like B&M were high when designing this coaster. I'm also glad it isn't an exact clone of Swarm.
  24. Europa Park (10 Credits) Alton Towers (0 Credits) Drayton Manor (1 Credit) Gardaland (7 Credits) Festival Sant’Anna di Palazzo (1 Credit) Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo (7 Credits) Thorpe Park (1 Credit)
