Europa Park Discussion Thread

Just got back from Europa Park... ONE WORD... WOW... It seems the ride ops had pressed the pure evil button (or immensely high capacity button)... you couldn't feel the trims or brakes on any of the rides, while this worked on Silver Star and Blue Fire to turn them into the best thrills in my life, it turned EuroMir, EuroSat and Poseidon into some pain... OUCH! In fact Pegasus was running so well it beats most English coasters There were hardly any queues, the biggest was about 15 minutes, we managed to do 11 rounds of Silver Star and five rounds of Blue Fire over the two days. FoodLoop was fun, even though the novelty wears off, the food is so reasonably priced, making it beat any English amusement park restaurant by a mile... If you are going have the penne with spinach, it was sooo good. I have never had so much fun at a theme park... -

I think it will be the world's first launched something (e.g. Wooden, Stand Up, Floorless, 4D, Spinning)... Also I don't think B&M will do 4D or launches any time soon as they are obsessed with reliability, I hope I am proved wrong however. I think Alton Towers should fill the Black Hole tent with a Gerstlauer Bobsled, they are awesome coasters on relatively small footprints. -

Ben 10 is by a mile the best coaster being built for 2011 in the UK...it is great to see Drayton Manor not trying to do a big thrill ride, but doing a small ride really well, great theming, some great (albeit small) forces. The front will be definitely the best, getting dragged over that spike should provide some nice airtime...It could be better than Thi13teen, because it will exceed expectations. Drayton Manor could overtake Alton Towers as the place to go in the Midlands, especially with the ride refurbs to hugely improve rides, the huge hotel and talks of a Mack launch coaster similar to Blue Fire I daren't say it, this could be the best coaster in the park. LOCATIONS It might be where Spinball is: - Alton Towers are moving or even scrapping Spinball to a new location within the next ten years. - Some sources suggest that it will be moved/scrapped in 2013 when the deal with Sega expires. - The new roller coaster is coming in 2013...COINCIDENCE??? It may be in the valley: - They suggested the woody with a 200ft drop before...then scrapped it - What is to stop them using it again. - The fact it is a valley allows them to build things higher. It could be in the Black Hole tent: - Alton Towers have suggested using it a couple of times. - X Sector is one of the thrill parts of the park. - Unlikely as it may not be big enough. TYPES OF COASTER Their are only three companies that will produce a roller coaster for >£15 million: - Mack - Intamin - B&M Mack seems unlikely as their only big thrill model is a launch (they already have Rita) Intamin seems plausible (Colossus cost £13.5 million, the 12 looper model (if built) will probably cost >£15million) B&M seems most likely (Alton's best rides are B&M + Merlin has gone B&M mad) -

What does everyone think will be better Cheetah Hunt or Raptor? Cheetah Hunt is sort of the same as Maverick or iSpeed (both of which are awesomely good coasters), or Raptor with B&M smoothness and those restraints...ORGASMIC...
