  1. Possessed at Dorney Park... which knocked the hell out of me. The ride felt a little pointless, but I've never experienced such a forceful launch on any coaster, so it had that going for it.
  2. Well, that's a fairly sober decision. I would hope any other Skyrides would get restraints like that before being closed. But yeah; what a country of wimps, all right.
  3. Following up on my original post from ten pages ago, now I'll never have the original Riverside Cyclone because of its closure. I'll have to get back there and ride the RMC'd version of it, though. Also, I'm probably stuck with my credit of just one half of Gwazi, since it's been SBNO for a while. I forget which side I did get, but this was back in the Spring of 2010. Maybe someone who knew how it operated could explain things to me.
  4. Canobie has a skyride with that exact same setup... and I don't think the bars lock on it. Here's hoping they don't get cold feet and think about a removal... though I think the fellow residents of my state are smarter than this. Also, we should be talking more about the people who teamed up to save her.
  5. Steel Force at Dorney Park, Saturday night. Hopefully I can get a trip report up soon...
  6. Basically what Robb said. Overall ride time is more important, but I do like to consider the length of the active experience when looking at a coaster. Not to mention, how else would you classify a boomerang?
  7. Dorney Park, coming up on the 23rd and 24th. This will be payback for when we stayed at a hotel on a family trip in 2013 very close to it.
  8. My family really needs to get their asses back to this park. I want Joker and Wicked Cyclone in equal measures.
  9. I only came in here because I heard about the freefall moment on the lift. Gerstlauer is too OP. [and the 200th post; stuff]
  10. I've always wanted to visit La Ronde ever since I went on a school trip to Montreal back in 2012 and saw the park from the top of the Olympic Stadium. It definitely has some interesting rides, though even if I go this year, I probably won't get Cobra as a credit. I want to ride my first stand-up already, even if it hurts. And that log flume... I guess it sounded great. So now I can't on that. At least I'm catching up on other unfinished business this year. Hopefully, my family can get around to it. We've wanted to go back there (with my mom and younger sister, who weren't on the trip) for a while.
  11. Just three: Kumba, Montu, and Batman - The Dark Knight. However, that's gonna change pretty damn soon.
  12. So, "World's Tallest & Fastest Virtual Reality Drop Ride". Six Flags really knows which records to go for nowadays.
  13. The only visit to Hershey in my life came back in 2009, well before I really started knuckling up for big coasters. I'd love to go back there and get my ass kicked by Skyrush, and all the other big thrills.
  14. So the sorta-overbanked turn switchback element turned out to be a freakin' GIANT corkscrew. I it. The GCI also looks nice. It's inspiring me to ride more of their coasters in my home country.
  15. Well hot damn... Mind Eraser might actually be palatable now. Of course, judging by my ride on it back in 2013, that certainly wouldn't take much to accomplish.
  16. I've been waiting a while to see vertical construction on that thing. The location is pretty cool... I was over on that side of the park quite a bit for my visit, doing Batman and going in the water park for a while.
  17. Aww... for as dated up the ass as DisneyQuest is, when I went there last year with my family I really ended up enjoying it. Considering the recent boom in popularity for Virtual Reality and its related experiences, it's a shame they never did anything to improve that place. I'll miss it, and I hope all the arcade machines and such find wonderful new homes.
  18. That depends. I usually go for Untamed first in the single-rider line, but if it's early enough in the day and Yankee Cannonball doesn't have a crowd yet, I'll go for that, as I did in my visit early in this past summer.
  19. Considering that I get motion sickness when I do chairswing rides, I can't even fathom how terrifying riding one of those Sky Screamers would be.
  20. I don't really have any coaster names I hate, but there are some very repetitive names I'm not fond of. Mostly if it's a Vekoma Boomerang called "Boomerang", or any of the damned Mind Eraser clones. And how the hell do those rides "erase" your mind, anyway? Your brain stores virtually everything you see and do even if you don't remember it later. Maybe your experience is "erased" if you hit your head on the restraint enough times, I don't know. Also, now that I think of it, Sidewinder at Elitch Gardens is deceiving. How is it a sidewinder if the ride has almost no lateral movement whatsoever?
  21. Well that is a sad. I'd love for another park (preferably one close to me) to save Venus. It's such a unique looking coaster, and Maurer has never built anything else like it.
  22. Oh yeah... this thing. It's so far off, and yet it looks like such a great little coaster. I almost never travel outside of my part of the country, let alone other continents.
  23. From that picture, I feel like they're going to add a coaster that's bigger than White Lightning.
  24. Oh dear. Well, it's interesting that they're boxing in the coaster, but it isn't the first time it's happened (Psyké Underground). And I'd be all for them doing something special with that setup.
  25. I remember a rumor that Six Flags tried to cut costs that year and wanted to cancel Raging Bull but it was too late, so they downsized Georgia Scorcher which was originally supposed to be the size of Chang and Riddler's Revenge. Not sure how true that was, but interesting nonetheless You know, I've always thought it was odd for Six Flags to go for a smaller stand-up after the progression the coaster type had gone though. So that totally makes sense.
