  1. Woah, check it out: V2 from SFDK has a ghetto brother. No idea on how safe it is, but it's definitely a special, one-of-a-kind credit to have.
  2. Actually, that's Rule 34. Rule 42 is that nothing is sacred, which somewhat ties into the same theme.
  3. It lives? My god. So they go from not knowing when it's going to open from announcing it just a couple of days before the opening? Amazing. Good to see that this thing is finally up and running.
  4. How about the "bent coat hanger" section of Fujiyama at Fuji-Q? Basically, think of the aforementioned trick track on sterioids. This was the point where the science of hyper coasters simply went too far: (I couldn't find a direct picture of it. Look towards the middle, on the left side)
  5. That B&M Floorless they put in there looks like a larger version of Batman: The Dark Knight at Six Flags New England, only with a different (and rather strange) first drop. Of course, any country that can put one of these in their park deserves high praise, and the ride, plus the Premier LSM dark ride coaster, look like fun rides.
  6. I can do you one better: SBNO for 30 years. Built, but never had an electrical system added, and never operated. I'm talking about Vertigorama at Parque de la Ciudad. http://rcdb.com/1506.htm Come to think of it, that entire park was a fail of epic proportions, spread across all their coasters. Heck, they have a JetStar that has been hanging around since 1984, and was never even built!
  7. Does Batman: The Escape count? Other than that, yeah, probably one of B&M's older stand-ups. Hopefully not Time Machine, as I imagine that ride is in pretty good shape and could be used at a park like Kentucky Kingdom.
  8. What exactly is about them that makes them "umentionable"? I don't think I'm familiar. Also, 100th post. Heh.
  9. Lots of compact coasters at Elitch's. That small amount of space seems like it can definitely pack in a lot of rides. Glad you had a great time, man!
  10. Out of all the coasters I've ridden, one from my home park, Untamed, really takes the intensity cake. Really damn intense, from inversion to inversion, without letting up. Especially the transition from the final Heartline, to turn, to switch into final tight helix right into the brakes. Leaves me dazed and confused every time. Bizarro is of course a must, and for me, Kumba is also very intense, judging from the utter blur of a ride experience it left me after I rode it. Everything after the Zero-G Roll (but, of course, everything before it, for that matter) is B&M heaven, especially the interlocking corks and the following final helix full of positives.
  11. You spin me right round, baby. Right round. Like a record player. I had no idea about this park before, but it looks awesome, especially with the new Intamin, drop tower, and strange looking water ride. If I could go to Italy, this park would be top priority for me.
  12. That particular Corkscrew is actually the second oldest. The Corkscrew at Silverwood (back when it was at KBF) opened first.
  13. With that logic, I guess SFNE is the skilled, technical wizard of the family? Great photos, as is to be expected.
  14. Did nobody want to take the rightmost seat on Bizarro or something?
  15. Thunderbolt at Six Flags New England, exactly one month ago today.
  16. ^They told me this fire was going to happen six months ago. -chris "too soon, I know" con You know you're going to hell for saying that.
  17. It's... beautiful. *sheds a tear* Now we just need to wait for someone to make No Throttle. It'd have no loop at all, just a launch straight into a turnaround over the main stretch of track and into the brakes. Also, mind posting that to the TPR Game Exchange? I'd love to download it and experience the thrill for myself.
  18. Because they provide a decent ride (although rough) in a small amount of space while being reliable and quick to dispatch. Perfect for any small park. As for a B&M invert at SFNE, keep dreaming. I understand the part about being small and providing big thrill for the space, but SFNE's version seems to stand out in particular because it's far from a small park. The biggest in the area, in fact. Not to mention, you have a much better Vekoma invert at the other side of the park.
  19. Wish granted. As for a serious response, I would probably tear down as many Vekoma SLCs as I could, starting with the one at Six Flags New England. Why the heck are these rides still kicking when they could be replaced with much better inverts? As for SFNE, I could picture a nice B&M invert starting off in its spot and taking its sweet time to go over near the far end of Bizarro.
  20. It's always a great day knowing that a Schwarzkopf has gotten a new lease on life. I always thought this one was insane, judging by the recreation in NoLimits and how unnaturally twisty it seemed. Basically... a boomerang, just with Anton's magic touch. Mexico, showing once again why it owns.
  21. Australia needed some sort of bright spot out of this winter season, and it looks like they got it with this awesome looking coaster. If you know my home park, you know that I'm excited for any park that can afford to put in a Eurofighter. And hey, that online game sounds like something Hershey would do.
  22. I haven't ridden a whole lot of coasters, but I feel like I've had enough experiences to add to this thread. A pleasant surprise would have to be Thunderbolt at Six Flags New England. I wasn't expecting it to be much, but I had the privilege of being able to night ride it during the park's last hour, in the front seat, with my sister riding behind me on her first really big coaster, and it was fun. Lots of minor, but noticeable airtime cresting each hill, especially on the double dip (it's really satisfying getting yanked out of your seat like that), and it really wasn't that rough. I probably would have ridden it again if I had enough time to. An unpleasant surprise would have to be Gwazi At Busch Gardens Tampa. So very tall, so very interesting, so very photogenic... so very rough and shaky. This was when the ride had its infamously rough PTC trains, of course. I don't remember which side I was on, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway, as the entire ride was a jackhammered blur from start to finish. Not to mention, it wasn't even dueling. I came off that thing dazed and confused, groggily walking to the exit into the parking lot. Thankfully I rode it as my last ride of the day, because if I had rode it any time before that, my whole day very easily could have been ruined.
  23. Man, this sucks for them, especially having come so quickly after Sandy. Here's hoping for an end to this fire and a (relatively) speedy recovery.
