Rye toast and a banana, my favorite breakfast. Coffee too, but that was only so I didn't fall asleep during my 8:30 lecture this morning. -
2nd time not such a charm?
shesaidboom replied to canada's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wild Beast at PCW - It's been one of my favorite coasters until this year. They put new wheels on it, now it's horrible. Minebuster at PCW - When I was younger I loved this coaster, I hadn't been to Wonderland in years and when I went back and rode it again it was awful. I'm sure once I make it back to Cedar Point, Millenium Force wont seem nearly as awesome after riding Superman at SFNE. -

I enjoy your bobsled picture. The rest of them are pretty awesome too though. -
SheiKra to acquire Floorless Trains?
shesaidboom replied to Imhotep's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love the floorless concept. I don't know why, since most people don't seem to care for it. It just seems neat to me..well, for the front row anyway, the effect is pretty much lost on the rest of the train. Someone said that Sheikra already seems floorless since the seats are up so high, and I agree with that. In the middle and back rows it'll probably seem exactly the same. It might add to the experience in the front row, like others have mentioned, since there'd be nothing infront of you while you hang over the edge for those few seconds, but I don't see the point in changing the ride so soon. At least wait a few years until the newness of the ride has worn off. There are tons of people who want to ride but haven't gotten a chance to yet. I wouldn't complain if they put floorless trains on it, but I personally think the ride is awesome as is. But Montu is better..mmmmmmm, Montu. -
Good for you! It must feel awesome to have lost that much already. I too struggled with weight much of my life, but a couple years ago I lost around 70 pounds. I don't think I would've fit on Millenium Force if I hadn't! I saw tons of people who didn't look overweight at all being turned away. It's always a struggle, but the end results are completely worth it, and once you get it off you want to keep it off so it's great insentive to stay healthy for life. Good luck with the other 40 pounds you want to lose.

what coaster did you severely underestimate
shesaidboom replied to methos's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Haha, Gubsgubs! You totally love the noise I made on Cyclops! That drop was insane and caused me to fly out of my seat and land on the seat divider. Ow. We tightened the seat belt after that My list is pretty much the same as Jer's, although those Wacky Worms were a lot more awesome than I was expecting. -

^I was nervous before our first trip this year because there was so much wood! It ended up being awesome though and now most of the coasters in my top ten are woodies. I think I had one woodie in there last year. I really liked Wild Beast until this year. They put new wheels on it and it feels like there are brakes in them or something. They slow down the train as it goes, it's weird. They ruined it -
Everyday, like one other person on here I get free gym use at school, so that helps since I can go right after class and most days don't have to make a special trip.
-
It should take me 5-10 minutes to drive to school [depending on traffic lights], but because of the traffic it takes at least 30. Yesterday it took me over 45 minutes to drive home. I know I shouldn't complain though since a lot of people have much longer commutes.

2006 Coaster Season Stats
shesaidboom replied to DerekRx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My year started out great, but ended kind of badly. I got to go on two awesome road trips with Jer [307], as well as a few day trips to parks. We've been very lucky with not missing any credits in the past, but this year we missed quite a few due to parks failing at life and also crappy weather. Current coaster count: 206 [i know my signature says 204, but 2 coasters weren't listed on Coaster Fanatics] # of new coasters: 76 # of new for 2006 coasters: 2 # of parks visited: 17 # of new to me parks: 15 Park visted the most: Paramount Canada's Wonderland Wood coaster ridden the most: Avalanche [Timber Falls] Steel coaster ridden the most: Vortex [PCW] Favorite coasters of the year: Superman at SFNE, Voyage, Avalanche at Timber Falls, Batman at SFGam, Hades. Awesome experiences: Rainy but awesome day at Great Escape Meeting imboredisux at Holiday World while waiting for the Raven to be fixed Actually liking wood coasters for a change! The Orbiter at PCW opening back up There are tons more, but long lists are boring. Bad experiences: Lake Compost not opening for no reason at all! Missing the bobsled at Great Escape because of the rain La Ronde Wild Beast being ruined by horrible new wheels -
^^ See, if I saw that in a bathroom I would laugh and think that nobody could be stupid enough not to know how to wash their hands, but I do see why they would put it there. I am constantly seeing people neglect to wash their hands, and that's in the women's washrooms, I'm told it's even worse in the men's. Hopefully the sign helps at least a little!
-
^ Let's trade. People need to learn to wash their hands after they pee.

Things like this make me so mad. It's not even just about kids getting fat due to the lack of physical activity. Kids get hurt, it's part of being a kid, but apparently that's too hard for many parents to understand and they get sue happy when their kid so much as scrapes their knee. Kids NEED to hurt themselves, it helps them learn to deal with many life problems. Shit happens, you deal with it, get over it and get back up on your feet. My mom is a grade one teacher and a kid in her class skinned her knee a few days ago, she cried for an HOUR and refused to play anymore. I remember skinning my knee as a kid and maybe crying for a minute before getting back up and playing. I can understand not wanting kids to get severely injured and taking certain measures to avoid that, but I think it's being taken WAAAAAAAY to far. Another problem besides just banning games like tag is that they keep revising playground equipment to the point where it's not even fun anymore. When I was little the park near my house had this awesome wooden climber with twisty slides, monkey bars, fire poles, a cat walk and all kinds of things. Now there's a 5 foot tall plastic thing in its place. Climbers are a place for kids to explore, develop skills, and face their fears. I used to be terrified of the cat walk when I was really young [it was really high up and was only 2 wooden planks thick], but I eventually faced my fear and went across and it was a huge deal for me since I was like 7. Kids now don't get a chance to do things like that. They don't get to face their fears because there's nothing for them to fear! Kids are going to grow up being unable to deal with pain, fear or anything of the sort since nobody gives them the chance to when they're young. Even a game like tag gives them skills/experiences that will actually help them in the future. It sounds silly, but it's true. Kids learn through play. I can literally go on and on about this for hours, too much Early Childhood Education experience. Sorry But like many of you have said, next step..plastic bubbles.

Disney Characters gone wild?
shesaidboom replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really do get what you're saying, but I think the difference between these groups and Disney is that these groups are being attacked from the outside. Disney is being misrepresented by their own employees and that just shouldn't happen. It's much easier to blow it off when it's not your own company causing your company to look bad, since your company did nothing wrong. Like all the pictures floating around the internet of Disney character 'porn'. Those pictures aren't made by Disney and everyone is [or should be] aware of that. People are going to take the video more seriously because Disney hired these people to represent their company. Honestly, if people believe that Kazakhstan is exactly how it's represented by Borat, then they probably need a little help separating fantasy and reality. You said that with any company employees are bound to eventually do something like this, and while I do agree that this is probably true considering what many people are like, that doesn't make it any more acceptable. Especially when contracts are involved to ensure things like this don't happen. Yes, you can fire these people, but it's going to take more than that to explain why this happened. Like I said before, I have no doubt that Disney will overcome this, like you say they will. But it still hurts their image and is something they shouldn't have to deal with since it never should've happened in the first place. If these people really wanted to make a funny video of themselves humping each other in Disney character suits, they should've bought some costumes from the Disney store and done it in their own homes. At least that way it wouldn't look like they were Disney employees. Although I should probably stop posting since this seems to be pretty much done with anyway. -

shesaidboom replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I don't think that the point is how much it'll effect them. Of course they can overcome this. The point is that they shouldn't have to deal with it.
