Most of the reading I do now is for school. Otherwise, I read way too much Douglas Coupland and Chuck Palahniuk. I also really liked Matt Good's book 'At Last There is Nothing Left to Say'.

I think the New Jersey Batman is the one that pees on you anyway. I can't decide if I'd rather be stung by bees on French Batman or peed on by New Jersey Batman.
-
But there is a Batman there! You like Batman.

RIP angry rhino trip Thanks for all the advice! I'm glad we didn't get yelled at to "PLAN [OUR] OWN GODDAMN TRIP" like we did at another site *cough*what is that buzzing I hear?!*cough*. It's a tough decision. The credit whore in me wants to go to SFA, but nothing there really excites me. Plus, I want to make Jer ride Roller Soaker again As for SFGadv..we've been wanting to go there for a while, but all the stories of the horrible people encountered there keep making us put it off. Maybe it's worth it?

I see what you're saying but I think your expectations are a little high here. I've never been to a park where everything was 100% perfect, but instead of trying to pull out every little thing that's wrong [like faded paint, less than awesome signage etc] I try to enjoy myself. I know some parks are really lacking, and need major changes and updates, but it seems that you're being really nit-picky here. From what I've seen of Alton Towers and Black Pool [i haven't actually been] they look like great parks. I've also been to Disneyland Paris and thought it was awesome. Much better than many parks I've been to. Stop looking for perfection, enjoy what you have and have some fun with it or else you'll never be satisfied. I know I wouldn't have a very good time at a park if all I did was look around and think "that needs to be painted, that needs to be fixed, that needs an update, etc".

Diet berries and cream Dr.Pepper. A couple minutes after I finished I burped really forcefully, but instead of coming out my mouth the burp went up my nose. My nose then started bleeding all over the place. It was..weird..and painful..and now I'm afraid to drink anything bubbly. The Dr.Pepper was good though.

I think they add to a park experience, especially for a kid. It just wouldn't be the same without them, especially with Disney parks. One of my favourite memories of my trip to Disney World when I was six years old, was 'hanging out' with Pluto. It was the end of the day and I was really tired and cranky. He came over and tried to cheer me up, and it made my day. I'm sure my mom really appreciated that too since I'm sure I was complaining to her. I don't usually interact with characters now, but it's still neat to see them around the park..except for Little Bill at Canada's Wonderland, he's just creepy. A six foot tall little bald boy! If you don't like them, just don't pay attention, and try to stay away from them so you aren't swarmed by kids.

It also smells even worse when it defrosts! I went to the park earlier today and found many, many more piles. So gross.

Pick up your dog's poopie!!!! I went for a walk today and had to dodge many, many piles of dog poo. It's supposed to smell like spring, but instead it smells like poopie! If you don't want to clean up after your dog, DON'T GET ONE!!!

I remember singing that song at Brownie camp. I can't believe it was made into a real song. It's pretty horrible.

Start saving up for when you're older and can go on trips with your friends? Honestly, I think it's a little selfish to expect your parents to drive 12 hours and spend a good chunk of cash to go on a driving vacation to amusement parks when it isn't their thing. Especially since your dad has a heart condition that makes it so he can't even ride most things. I know you're trying to take their interests to heart and find things they'd be interested in too [like your dad with the go karts], but at the end of the day it's still a vacation they don't seem to want to do. It doesn't hurt to ask, but try to see it from their side too. Besides, in a few years you'll be able to travel on your own and go where ever you want.

60 million containers of pet food recalled
shesaidboom replied to DeliriumTrigger's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yes! It kills me how many people feed their pets these horrible quality foods full of 'ash' and 'meat by products'. $20 for a 30 pound bag of pet food is not a good deal, all you're getting is crap that'll hurt your pet in the long run! I hear 'well I've been feeding IAMS/Whiskas/Science Diet/whatever for xx number of years and she/he is fine!' but that doesn't mean it wont hurt them in the long run. I hope this recall will get people to switch their pets over to higher quality foods! -

Random feeling after Theme Park visit...
shesaidboom replied to Phixion's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's a difference between 'graying out' and having pressure in your chest and difficulty breathing. I know you think that because this had only happened ona rollercoaster you'll be fine not going to see a doctor until you plan to ride it again. The thing is, this could be a sign/symptom of something you don't know you have, that could happen again anywhere. In a sense, you're lucky it happened because now you have a reason to go get checked out and if it is actually something bigger, you'll find out! I'm not trying to scare you, I mean nothing could be wrong at all, but I've had something wrong that was found out completely by fluke. If it wasn't caught at the time it would've turned into something that could've cost me my life and I would've had no idea until it was too late. It's better to know than not know. It really doesn't take a lot out of you to go see a doctor, even if you think he's a moron. The worst he'll do is say "it was nothing, you're fine". -

Coasters after childbirth
shesaidboom replied to Marko's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hate roller coasters, but my coaster geek boyfriend said he'd break up with me if I didn't ride them. He makes me spend all my money on trips to go ride roller coasters and I don't even get to do anything I want to do. -
Actually, he has someone to do that for him Can I even post this? I'm not sure if it counts as pg 13. Hmmm. Since this is the rant thread..I'm tired of people complaining about their parents not spending enough on them for Christmas, especially when they got well over $500 worth of stuff. It seems that a lot of people expect a lot and don't appreciate it much at all. People like this shouldn't get anything.
-
^^Agreed. I have full year courses and our profs decided it would be an awesome idea to have two huge assignments due right after the break, one of which is a group assignment. I've had to get up at 6:30am a few times to meet people at school. Yuck. I wouldn't normally complain about the 6:30 thing, I have early classes three days a week, but I should be able to sleep in during my break!

It snowed here yesterday! But today it's back to the rain. Hopefully it'll stay above freezing until the rain dries up. Icy roads are no fun.

What weird thing happened to you today?
shesaidboom replied to jason10's topic in Random, Random, Random
My mom picked out a set of pots for Christmas [not a very exciting present, but she really wanted them] and I let her open them early since she was so excited about them. She opened the box and in the bottom she found an old crusty pot!!!! It had to have been at least a few years old..it was all scratched and stained. Someone probably bought the set, traded one of the new pots for their old crusty one and returned the set to the store. Gross.
