  1. Why can't jeans have normal solid colour washes anymore? It's always this faded distressed denim that looks like it was dragged around in the dirt, peed on, and torn apart by rabid goats. I bought the most comfortably awesome pair of jeans yesterday, but after I had gotten home, ripped off the tags, and put them on I realized that they make it look like I just peed my pants! I HAVE PEE JEANS. I can't return them since I already ripped the tags off, and they're too comforable to part with anyway. Maybe nobody will notice since I'm sure 392852359 other people have pee pants too.
  2. Great pictures! I can't wait to make it out to Cedar Point this year.
  3. Why are text books so expensive? I mean, I could understand if it were a big fancy hardcover text book, but $150 for a flimsy little nothing book is just ridiculous. It's bad enough that I'm paying a stupid amount of money to take grade 11 biology disguised as a university Natural Sciences course. I get that it's one of those courses that everyone has to take, one of those mandatory 'optional' ones since you get a choice of which natural science you take. I get that because of this they want to make it 'easy', but at least attempt to provide something different or a challenge of some sort. I took grade 11 biology, I do not need to take it again! Give me new science, I like science! I also don't understand why they are teaching us to write essays in university. In every course we have to write essays for, "this is how you write a topic sentence..this is how you form a paragraph..this is how you get information..this is how you cite said information". Shouldn't we know how to write essays by university?! Why waste class time on this? Also, hello we can read! We do not need to spend two and a half hours going through every little detail on the syllabus. "You should come to lectures" Oh jeez, I wouldn't have thought to otherwise, good thing you told me! "Plagiarism is bad" ORLY?! "Study for tests" So that's why I always do so bad on those things! All through high school all I heard was "in university nobody spoon feeds you, you need to prepare yourself for that!" GIVE ME BACK MY SPOON, I CAN FEED MYSELF. I know I sound like some pretentious loser, "oh boo hoo school is easy", but I hate spending money for stupid crap like this. I want to learn useful things that will actually help me in some way in the future, I thought that's why I was there in the first place. Guess not
  4. Apparently 'Granny's Sweets', where ever that is, still has chicken fingers. I checked Wonderland's site to see what the buffet was actually called and that was up there We didn't include this for some reason, but this is the Marketplace buffet building. It was weird to see that space completely filled, it's HUGE, but at least it looks good and should be a nice addition to the park.
  5. Awesome TR, I always look forward to reading yours. Now I want to go to Dollywood even more! Hopefully next year.
  6. ^^ If you're already going to be in the area I'd say it's worth a stop. There's nothing really great, and some of it is truly horrible [like Tomb Raider], but there are a few okay roller coasters and some good flats, and we usually manage to have a good time when we're there I think it was Dave who said that it has one of the largest collections of 'ride once for the credit' coasters. This describes it pretty well.
  7. I've been to most of the PA small parks, and found none of them to be particularly worth going out of the way for, or skipping a "bigger" park for, ESPECIALLY Lakemont. That place was a freaking dump. Idlewild was the best of the three in that general area [idlewild, Lakemont, del Grosso's]. But of course this depends on your coaster/park preference.
  8. shesaidboom and 307 go to Canada's Wonderland Season Passholder Preview Night, part one of one, because it would be pretty lame to have more than one part for a visit that lasted under three hours!!! Wonderland had it's season passholder night tonight [though I bet the title of the TR didn't give you a hint about that], and naturally - we were there, nitpicking every little thing and generally being nerdy coaster douchebags! And now, we're here to tell you all about it! There were surprisingly few changes to the park... although Nikki didn't expect anything to change, so I guess there were surprisingly many changes. The rumour of Cedar Fair taking over the park solely to cut down all of the trees proved to be partially true, as basically anywhere where there had been a large collection of trees was now semi-treeless. Also, there was an exorbant amount of garbage cans, I guess because so much trash enters the park on a daily basis. Before we begin, I would like to use this time to mourn a fallen comrade. Wild Beast, at one time I felt you were a great coaster, full of rough air and general whoopee. But now, you've been neutered as per the request, I can only assume, of Bob Barker! It's quite sad that one of my favourite coasters now runs worse than Minebuster, but I will always remember the good times we had, and never tarnish your memory further by riding you again. HUHUHU BAI One more picture of Vortex, because it's the best thing left in the park. The sky... THROUGH THE TREES. LOOK WHAT I CAN DO LOOK WHAT I CAN DO SNORETEX When Wonderland announced the addition of Coasters, I thought it would be a sit-down diner, not just another "pay at the counter and find your own damn seat" place. Weak! She is adamant that she was joking, and made it up to me with a TWO RATCAGE shot! True love! Nikki spent the whole time trying to get me to ride this piece of crap, but I had to PUT MY FOOT DOWN. Top Gun is a pretty photogenic ride, as we demonstrate here in this obviously overdone shot that everyone has a picture of. PARAMOUNT Theatre?! Put down the lazy! Dragon Fire got a semi-new paintjob, as the rails were painted yellow, and the track was a lighter [and more disgusting] shade of the green. Problem is, large chunks of the ride still had the old paint on it... and the colours clashed pretty bad. NITPICK. It must be awesome to be a squirrel at Wonderland, free park food all the time! Score! Hey dumbass, get with the times! Silver Streak is what Top Gun wishes it could be: Bananas!Q Well, to be quite frank, we don't care. Here's more nitpicky crap! Does it count as an oversight if Cedar Fair still has the Paramount license? Hmmm... isn't Cedar Fair aligned with Pepsi? Alert the press. Two new bone-chilling attractions for 2007! Fence: The Ride and Attack of the Garbage Cans! Check out that corroded track on the top of the hill! DUDE, GRODY. First crooked lift hill picture of the season!!! We decided to be annoying and take pictures of a bunch of things still branded as "Paramount". HERE IS ONE OF THEM. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW etc This is probably the best "randomly point your camera at something and click without looking" picture ever. We didn't go on SkyRider, because we were too busy buying rubies. Vortex is still awesome, even with giant clouds of mosquitos scattered throughout it's circuit! Wonder Mountain is still good - but apparently Cedar Fair has something against Canadian patriotism! The Canada flowers have been destroyed! THRILLS ARE PARAMOUNT. TRASH CANS ARE NOT.
  9. ^ Yes, but be prepared to wait in a huge line to buy your pass. I would get there early if you can.
  10. Actually stuff kind of like that does happen here. I remember reading a story not too long ago about a girl who stuck her hand in a meerkat enclosure and got bitten. Since it was undetermined if the meerkats had rabies or not, she either had to get a rabies shot [which are not pleasant!] or the meerkats had to be put to sleep because the only way to tell if they did had rabies was to do a brain biopsy. Of coures if they did she'd have to get the shot anyway! The girl's parents threatened to sue the zoo if they didn't put the meerkats to sleep, so they did. If it were my kid that did they, they'd be getting the rabies shot! They were the idiot who stuck their kid in the enclosure. Not the same as being eaten by a crocodile, but animals still had to be put to sleep due to human child stupidity. I'll see if I can find the article. I can't remember which zoo it happened at, but I know it was in North America. EDIT: The article is no longer up since it was posted a really long time ago, but the text was copied and pasted somewhere else, so here you go..
  11. Exams are done!
  12. Wow, you got 'stuck' with a scholarship?! Be happy you got one! Even if you can afford college on your own, it still makes things a lot easier for you. You can save up your money for when you're finished college. I really don't see what's so horrible about getting a free ride through college. If you feel that Disney was right for you, then it's good you made that decision on your own and are going for it. I hope you have a great time there. I think you're going to be in for a huge shock though, when you realize there are people like what you described everywhere, even at Disney World. Good luck!
  13. I've never understood why animals are the ones to pay with their lives when people are more often than not the stupid ones. This situation, and the one that someone mentioned about the bear, are even more mind boggling since they happened in fenced off areas!!! How is it the fault of the animal when they were just trying to protect their own territory? I feel bad for the crocodiles, not for those stupid kids. I also don't think the argument of 'they didn't know better' flies. There's a fence, fences are there for a reason and even most kindergarteners can draw that conclusion. I'm wondering what the parents were doing while all of this was happening.
  14. Rory and Lenore, my chinchillas, are my favourite rodents.
  15. Usually newborns are so squishy looking, but wow, Cameron is adorable!! I hope you guys are doing well and that he can come home soon.
  16. You know, I never really understood this argument. What if a young child saw a man and a woman kissing or doing more than that in public? You'd have to explain things then wouldn't you? I know not everyone agrees with same sex couples, and that's their choice, but what's so hard in telling their kids 'some men like men and some women like women, but we don't agree with that'? Just because someone wants to shelter their kids from reality doesn't mean everyone should cater to their needs. That's just the way I see it. I think we need to bring back the stoning one!!!!! Some kids today are horrible
  17. Like many people have said already, I can see it as an addition to a park like IOA, but I can't really see it working as a park on its own. Sure there are enough ideas to play off of to fill an entire park, but to me it seems like something people would go to once just to experience it and not return again and again. I can see it getting old really quickly. Then again, I'm one of those people who used to love the Simpsons but think it stopped being a good show years ago.
  18. I've never had a problem with banking issues and Six Flags, but I did have a problem ordering a seasons pass online last year. Apparently if you don't live within a certain distance from the park you can't order your seasons pass online, or at least that's what happened to us. I've ordered a pass from Cedar Point which is further away, and day passes from parks as far from me as Florida, yet I couldn't order from the closest Six Flags park to me. I thought that was a little silly, but I guess I shouldn't complain since there wasn't a line at the park anyway and maybe there's a good reason for this.
  19. I've gone in May, early June, the end of August [all on weekdays] and September [on a weekend]. The only time it was actually pretty busy was in June because of the mass amount of schools visiting. We were expecting it to be crowded in August, but a lot of things were walk-ons, and the only lines that were more than 10 minutes were for Millenium Force and TTD.
  20. Awww, we like you! You made Holiday World suck less! That's good to know about SFGadv. Unfortunately we'd be there on a weekend so I guess this time we'll skip it. Maybe next year we'll get it in. I think I'd take vomit smell over the diarreah smell in the tunnel on the Voyage at Holiday World. That was pleasant!
  21. I've been on one of each. Superman at SFGam, X-Flight at Geauga Lake and Tomb Raider at PCW. Superman was definately the best of the three, although if it weren't for the pretzel loop I probably wouldn't have liked that one either. I'd like to ride Tatsu since it seems to be labelled as the best of the flyers, but I doubt that'll happen any time soon.
  22. So Roller Soaker then?
