  1. I occasionally go trainspotting with friends. On one of the trips last summer I tried to do some panning shots with my phone and the result turned out awesome, which made me totally fall in love with the technique. It adds so much action and speed to the picture. For example both of the freight trains in the pictures are moving quite slow.
  2. Ortobruco Tour - Gardaland
  3. What an amazing looking place, I really need to go there some day! Looking at those huge crowds it seems like it would be almost impossible to have a good time at the park. But looking at all the stuff you managed to do in a day and hearing how great it was really says something about how well-run this park is and how well-behaved the clientele is! Looking forward to see the pictures from Tokyo DisneySea! Well one thing definitely looks similar, this version also looks like it contains plenty of Brer Bear butt.
  4. Went to see Rogue One yesterday. I thought it was a pretty good movie, I really enjoyed it. The final battle was awesome!
  5. Universal Studios Florida
  6. That looks amazing! It would be very fun to try.
  7. Woah that looks incredible!! I love that so much of the ride is over water!
  8. It looks so bizarre with brand new rides placed inside an abandonded-looking building. Thanks for the share, very interesting find!
  9. Wow that is one truly dead park! I have experienced being among the only riders in the front row on Kraken, but being the only one in the whole train must be quite an experience. Thanks for sharing the trip report!
  10. Just watching the video of this ride blows my mind! I can only imagine how great it must be in real life!
  11. Jack delivers once again, those are some awesome shots!
  12. Great post! While most of the rides were known to me, I had no idea they were building another Fahrenheit style ride. Will be interesting to see how that one turns out.
  13. Great pictures! Liseberg looks fantastic all decorated and lit up for Christmas. One of my favorite parks, and I look forward to more visits in the coming years!
  14. Well, the parks website has received a new look. Not a whole lot of news though, but opening date is now listed as 2019 or 2020 (the English text on the site has not been updated yet and still says 2018). Also the official name of the park is Thor's Rike, which means Thor's Kingdom. http://thorsrike.no/en/ The latest news is a link to a recent interview with the project manager. http://haugalandvekst.no/vikingland-gi-milliardinntekter/ The rest of the article is in Norwegian only, but I can give a quick summary: - Construction Step 1 will cost around 500 million NOK, 200 of these will be equity. They have 50 million NOK in place, and in the beginning of 2017 they will continue the work to aquire another 100 million. They will also sell land for the same amount to propery developers. - All calculations confirms that the project will be profitable. - They have been in contact with Disney and Universal regarding the design and construction of the park.
  15. While I cannot recall if I kept my eyes open or not (I think they were open), that moment when you start diving on Manta (particularly in the backseat) was one of very few moments that has given me that "OH F*CK" feeling!
  16. That sign looks great! I'll get my coat....
  17. Sure why not?? It looks like it could be fun... or at least one way to kill some time! 1. What is the name of your home park? Don't have one! If I have to say something it will have to be Tusenfryd since it's the only park in Norway catering to thrill seekers, but it's 300 miles away. 2. Do you own a coaster related T-shirt? No! I had a Thundercoaster T-shirt once, but that's many years ago. That's the only coaster T-shirt I've ever had. 3. Do you enjoy Vekoma SLCs? I liked the first one I rode which was Tizona at Terra Mitica back in 2003. But that was on a brand new ride and my coaster count was around 10 at that point. My last ride on a SLC (El Condor @ Walibi Holland last year) was f**king terrible! 4. Name the first 3 coasters that come to mind. Balder Speedmonster Lisebergbanan 5. One park you would definitely never go back to is... Since my park count is not that high, I don't think I've been to a park that I would never go back to. 6. Have you ever ridden a drop tower taller than 200 feet? YES! Fritt Fall @ Gröna Lund, AtmosFear @ Liseberg and Falcons Fury @ BGT. 7. What is your favorite roller coaster? El Toro @SFGADV 8. When you go to a park three things you must have with you are... Ummm... phone, wallet and myself?? 9. How many times did you visit your home park last season? Going with Tusenfryd, I visited once last year. I wasn't planning on visiting it all until I learned that some fellow TPR members would be in the area around the same time as me, so I decided to go (Thanks Bryan). I probably average one visit every second year. 10. The first Intamin coaster you rode is... Kanonen @ Liseberg 11. Have you ever spent an entire day at a park alone? Yes, Kolmården (well almost the entire day) and Walibi Holland last year, and Magic Kingdom in 2015. 12. The independent park you go to the most is... Liseberg 13. Does B&M or Intamin make better hyper coasters? I have only ridden one of each (Nitro and S:ROS @ SFNE) back in 2008, and I actually enjoyed Nitro the most on that trip, Not really sure if it was the better ride, but I just had these insane expectations for S:ROS and was a bit let down by a ride that felt like it was running a bit sluggish compared to how I thought it would be. 14. If it was free, what upcharge ride what you jump on right now? Probably one of those slingshot rides. 15. What is the best food at your home park? I've yet to have anything that I would call good food at Tusenfryd. 16. The name of the worst GCI you've ridden is... Gwazi 17. When you're not riding something at your home park where are you? Probably on the viewing platform along the launch on Speedmonster. (if we're talking about where in the park) 18. Favorite water ride in a dry park (flume, rapids, etc) Splash Mountain @ WDW 19. Do you get your photo taken with park mascots? No (assuming we're keeping this seperate from character meet'n greets at parks like Disney and Universal) 20. Name one personal item you've lost at a park. Never lost anything. 21. Name of the worst B&M invert you're ridden is... Haven't been on any bad ones, but Nemesis Inferno was probably the least good. 22. Name your favorite steel coaster under 125 feet tall. Probably Piraten... too lazy to check the height of all the steel coasters I've ridden. 23. Name your favorite coaster/ride manufacturer? Intamin 24. What waterpark have you visited most often? Don't think I've been to any more than once... 25. The name of the fastest wooden coaster you have ridden is... El Toro @ SFGADV 26. What is the name of the flat ride you've ridden the most? Spinspider @Tusenfryd 27. Name a ride-related injury you have suffered. On Hullámvasút, the scenic railway in Vidampark in Hungary, I knocked my elbow on the supporting structure while trying to take a picture when going through the turn between the station and the lift. Just a small scratch and a few drops of blood though, nothing serious. 28. Favorite Halloween event at a park? Never been to any 29. Name the most recent Arrow ride or coaster you've been on... Flume Ride, the Arrow log flume at Liseberg, in 2015. 30. Name of your favorite ride that never leaves the ground (safari, train, bumper cars, etc) The safari @ Animal Kingdom is great. I also really liked the train ride at Wiener Prater. 31. What ride makes you laugh the most? Mechanica @ Liseberg. I had no idea what to expect and it left me laughing hysterically through the entire ride. 32. How many RMC's have you ridden? One (Wildfire last year) 33. Best flat that goes over 100 feet is... Spinspider @ Tusenfryd 34. When you are on your way to your home park what is one worry that you might have? For Tusenfryd I worry that the park operations will be terrible... which they usually are! 35. Favorite park that is NOT your home park is ___________. Tough one! Magic Kingdom is probably the park I could spend the most time at without doing anything, but for the coasters I think I have to go for Busch Gardens Tampa. 36. How many different parks did you go to last season? Three (Walibi Holland, Kolmården and Tusenfryd) 37. The indoor coaster/dark ride you ride most often is... Cannot answer since I ride these type of rides so rarely. 38. When you spend the day at the park what do you drink all day? I'm a beer lover, but at parks I drink mostly Coca-Cola. 39. The name of the best B&M you've ridden is? Kumba 40. Name three other forum members that will fill this out... Coasterbill DoinItForTheFame Nrthwnd (just picking three random users that I know are active on these boards )
  18. This looks awesome! I'm definitely interested in seeing more!
  19. Tried a few from Kona Brewing. Very basic stuff, it's not bad, but there's really nothing exciting about these beers either. And the Longboard lager had a very strange smell, it almost smells a bit cheese-like. It was not present in the flavor of the beer, but still it's not how I want my beer to smell. I'm wondering if there was something wrong with this bottle, because after half a beer I had to pour out the rest as I could not take that smell any more, although there wasn't really anything wrong with the flavor.
  20. If we're looking at coasters I'm likely to ride next year, it would probably be the new Intamin inverted coaster at Djurs. It looks like it will be a ton of fun. Maybe I'll do a trip to Germany this year, in that case the new Star Trek themed coaster at Movie Park looks promising.
  21. ^I definitely agree with the Jetline sign, that is really cool!
  22. I watched Spectral the other night. The movie was released directly on Netflix a few weeks ago. While not a brilliant movie by any means, it was good enough to keep me entertained for an evening.
  23. Well I guess I have to go for Tusenfryd as my home park even though it's far away. During my visits I've usually always gone for Speedmonster first to ensure I get a ride on the best ride in the park in case the curse of the Intamin cable should strike. But it has been operating very reliably on all my visits.
