  1. Can't wait for the report. That coaster looks like one heck of a blast!
  2. just curious, does anyone know if THE lightning bolt rod thingy is open yet ?
  3. I know which seat I will never sit in again. eeew
  4. ^ happens every single time for me. Including places I've been to multiple times.
  5. Yes , The Bat was probably the worst in terms of design flaws, however, in terms of riding, it was really a fun and a bit intense ride. Not boring like Dragging Iron. I'll never forget while on the paddlewheel boat ride at CP, the captain asked if anyone had been on Iron Dragon yet, and asked what everyone thought. Most on the boat raised their hands and said, boring. The boat captian laughed and said , yeah, a few million bucks for a boring ride and shook his head. Most likely a no no to say, but yes, he did go there. I still chuckle.
  6. In our past visits, on a cold day, like the one you had always seem to be the best.Glad you had fun.
  7. ^ agreed, that is one very confusing statement.
  8. A word of caution though, when we left the point on saturday around 11 am, traffic was backed up to the end of the causeway at the mainland. It was super jam packed. During the week is the time to go.
  9. to tb305, we went last year during the 3rd week in august, for 4 days, the last week of 10pm closing times. Stayed at the breakers, budgeted for fast lane and never once had to purchase. The weather was all over the place, one day was near 90, ( we did soak city for a couple of hours. We are from florida, so it has to be warm for us to go into the water,) another day was upper 60's to around 70, cool drizzly and cloudy early. The crowds during the week were very light, to the point Gemini only ran 1 side with mostly empty seats, Magnum,Roug, Raptor, almost never had a full train. The longest wait we had was mid day for Maverick at 30 min. TTD was down mid day for most days, but reopened near closing with no more than 15 minute waits. The forcast was for rain throughout the week, but only rained early in the morning and cleared out nicely by noonish. I guess the forecast kept people away.
  10. I never quite got that water ride. I know in its past it was part of a river boat ride similar to a certain hippo boat ride at Disney. It seems when they put in the falls ride part, they just kind of gave up on the whole themed adventure idea. I understand the premise, the river village and all, but it just falls (lol) kinda flat.
  11. ^^ or re-purpose them in a woodcarver shop at the park selling the boards as old fashioned school paddles. That way even your kids in the future can get the real gwazie experience.
  12. Nice report, good to see you had fun on your trip. Looks like you hit the highlites pretty well.
  13. ^ I agree, Wild One was a big surprise. It didn't look like it was going to be something other than a nice fun coaster. but it really surprised me, way better than I was expecting.
  14. Great to see you guys back here again ! And I love your critique on all the mormon stuff. Too fun.
  15. In my past experiences at KD, the temp may be low, but the crowds are also low. Lots of rerides to your hearts desire on those kind of days.
  16. Oh gawd, that looks like Nirvana,Heaven and sinfully wonderful hell all rolled into one big happy food orgy. Gotta go soon.
  17. Nothing earth shattering to report. Just a cool article on MSN today on 20 can't miss attractions in Orlando. Of course it lists all the usual suspects like Hulk, Manta , Rock N Rollercoaster, but I found it neat that the first can't miss attraction they listed was White Lightning, with a nice little write up.
  18. If it's anything like White Lightning at Fun Spot, it will be a manageable coaster to maintain properly, especially for a large park like BGW. Fun too.
  19. ^ or in september the weekend before the haunt starts. Cheap deal to get into the park if you wear one item of clothing from a local pro sports team, and the park is totally dead. (water park and water rides are mostly closed, but who cares, I'm there for the coasters and rides.)
  20. For old skool traditional flumes, (Emphasis on traditional) I've always liked the one at Kennywood , the one at Busch Gardens Tampa and Knoebels. No theming, just a good old fashioned fun flume. Dudleys and Splash Mtn are great themed ones tho.
  21. ^ could very well be. While I really enjoy this coaster, I still feel that the location at GL made the ride a bit superior. But I still love it.
  22. ^^ Maybe if they would just STRIP all the wood away and expose the magnets it wood RISE faster?
  23. Oh Wow, Imagine then you could have a mix of a interactive GP ski show with an aquatrax. I dont have photoshop, but put these 2 pics together and there you go ! (bonus rides for the Guy T K topless version)
