Especially when an all day pass costs a mere 10 bucks. After 12 rides on Blue Streak, 4 on Tumble Bug, 2 on Devils Den, and other re-rides on Witches Stew, Trabant, Flyers, Musik Express, etc etc, our cost per ride was about 25 cents per ride. We only planned on an hour or so, but wound up spending a good portion of the day there. My only regret was that we didn't get on the Kiddie coaster. It was the same version that was at Cedar Point when I was a kid. The line was too long with little kids and I wasn't about to be the creepy old dude trying to get on and denying some poor kid the chance to ride. The ride ops for it were sooo cool. They really hyped the ride to the kids on the microphone, telling them to scream and all that stuff. I just had fun and laughed watching them do that.

Neil, We did the same type thing last year on our way to Kennywood. If you know what to expect, you'll be good. And really, you will have fun in a sort of post-apocalyptic sort of way. Blue Streak is a blast and worth re-rides, Tumble Bug too. Devils Den is, well, see note above are as most rides. The craft brew place is good too, and they give samples. How long the park will go on is always the big question. I always say, go to parks like that, enjoy what's there imagining what it was like at one time. It's a part of coaster and amusement park history. Conneaut is on my (taking my life into my own hands ) agenda for this year too.

Oh Boy, here we go again. Sea World had "blackfish" and now some people are attacking BGT as the possible new "Blacksnake" ? A front page article in the Tampa Bay Times has Herpatologists /activists / animal rights groups ,claiming that " putting vipers and pythons in front of thousands of tourists next to a rumbling roller coaster could be torture for these animals" A rather lengthy read. Here's the link, http://www.tampabay.com/things-to-do/travel/florida/snakes-sensitive-to-vibrations-to-be-housed-at-busch-gardens-cobras-curse/2278244

New Coaster for Camden Park
djcoastermark replied to John Peck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While not an earth shattering new ride, it's nice to see this little heard of park keeps chugging along with something new. I am sure it will be a hit with the locals. They look like cute and fun 'lil rides. -

Clearance Envelopes
djcoastermark replied to shadox17's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Envelope was much higher on Kumba and wider on Space Mountain when they opened. Why you ask? WELL, Kumba is sinking (into a sinkhole) and Space Mountain is shrinking in the heat. Ya know, these things happen . -
Oh dear lard, I don't know where to start. I had 3 of my in laws down from lawdy ho god sacred virginia and they wanted to go there. Asked us if we wanted to go, and well, hell no. Short story. they went, paid some ridiculous entry fee and all said they were ripped off. This coming from one that is a bible thumper, one who is an athiest and one who was, get this, a methodist minister ! How is that place still in business ? It looks like a total rip off from the street

Rye Playland Discussion Thread
djcoastermark replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only thing I really know about Rye, and the reason I would like to go there is for Derby Racer. I've heard that, unlike Cedar Point, they still run theirs at full speed ? When Cedar Downs was still at Euclid Beach, it was always a fave of mine. -
Dive Machines? What are your thoughts?
djcoastermark replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I find Sheikras drop to be more intimidating than Griffon. I think that may be due to Shiekras drop has no visual obstruction to the bottom, messing with my depth perception, whereas on Griffon, the drop has track crossing over the drop. That first drop gets me every time on Shiekra. Also, the angle of the lift is a bit intimidating the first couple of times you ride. -
