Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

How many more points i until you get the free toaster? -
Honestly, I can't believe this poor 'lil park is still around. It's only a very little shadow of itself from when I was a kid. I wish them luck and it's on my bucket list for this summer. Just for Blue Streak, Devils Den, those classic flying scooters and the mostest awesomest ride, the best tumble bug left in the world !

Wet n' Wild Orlando Question

Don't miss DiscoH20, it is really a lot of fun . The music and lighting during the ride are awesome! (oldies disco, ie KC and the Sunshine Band etc). It's worth a few rerides. Another plus is that you can bring in a picnic basket to the park if you wish to save a bit of cash and have the food of your choosing instead of the usual fried park fare. -

If it ever got built, would there be many people willing to be ride-ops ? Clean-up after each ride would have to be , um, difficult? -
Help with my 2015 Summer trip
djcoastermark replied to dcessford69's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When we went last summer, we did the all day pass. For us it was worth it for Multiple rerides. But I could see a less avid rider doing the pay as you go route. Individual ride tickets are pretty cheap there. -
^ That's what I find so ironic about Gwazi. I remember riding it on its first day, and when I got off, I thought it was a decent ride. Just a little too new and smooth. The group I was with also commented on that and we all agreed that it would probably get better after it had a little break in time. Boy were we ever mistaken on that one.

I just thought I would post a quick report of the other day at BGT. It was thursday, the weather was great, (83 degrees) and we were bored, so we thought, heck, why not go and ride a few coasters? So the following is just a few pics of our adventure. First off, is our drive across the bay from St Pete to Tampa, always beautiful. crossing the bay AAh , We're almost here, Shangrila ! But first we gotta stop and get some monies. Uh, yeah,it can be sketchy on the way there Our first ride up at 2:00pm today is of course this beauty. I love this ride I wonder how long it's going to take to get on ? Look at that couple laughing at all those that bought fast pass today ! So yes, the park was very slow today and every thing was walk on. We did the rides multiple times as there was no wait ,until we were ready to leave. For our last ride of the day we thought, seeing as it's going away soon, Hey, lets ride Gwazi! Hmmm, I wonder how long the wait is going to be ? OOOH NOOO ! You have got to be kidding me ! Aaand so, this was the wait in the station. Somebody was getting their ha-ha's obviously. Uh ,yeah. 90 minutes ? And today, my chiropractor said there isn't much hope for me. He did suggest however, that if I re-rode it again, my spine "might" be jostled back to the way it was before ! Oh well, I only have a few days left to re-adjust everything, or totally destroy myself!

Much as I hate to see AirRace leave, I am really exited that the screaming swings are coming soon. I could ride Air Race a couple of times before my stomach said No More. But I can ride screaming swings all day. (and have marathoned it BTW) I wonder where the swings are going in at? The old Air Race spot would be good. Any Ideas as to where they are going ?

I love Cheetah Hunt just for its all out fun. I took my parents to BGT for the Christmas buffet at Crown Colony , (which was fantastic for only 16 bucks btw. )But the real story here is that right afterwards we went to Cheetah Hunt. My father is 81 and mom, well, you dont ask a lady her age, absolutely loved it. It has all the right elements for just a fun and very re-rideable coaster. My partner and I wanted to do the drop tower but the line was too long and Mom said no way.so we skipped it. But to my surprise Mom and Dad went back 2 days later just to ride the drop tower but by the time they got there it was down for the day. So they just did Cheetah again . It goes to show, one is never too old and a fun ride is just fun.

Here in St Pete we have a well known spot what's locally called Thrill Hill. It's a bridge that was built over Salt Creek to allow boats to navigate under the bridge, many many years ago. There's been many articles and photos in the papers and on line describing it. Accounts state that "thrill hill has been entertaining families for generations ". Interestingly enough is the fact that the city widened the bridge recently and left the hill intact, just wider now. There is even a proper way to ride the hill. Sources state that at 25mph, you get the butterflies, at 35mph, your stomach briefly leaves your body and at 45mph, you better have darn good suspension on your vehicle. I've done the bridge, and yes, it is fun.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Cheetah Hunt, Christmas night with my partner, my mother and father who is 81 years old! Just goes to show, you're never too old ! -
Was at the park today (christmas eve ) and boy ,was it slow, despite the warm temperatures. All the coasters were walk on and never did I see a full train at all on Montu, Kumba or Shiekra. Of course we had to be gluttons for punishment and rode Gwazi twice. Once in front and once in back, ' cause hey, there was no line. Gwazi was running, well, like Gwazi. I would really like to know where they got the square wheels for those trains ? No pictures today, but we are going again tomorrow with more family and will try to get some pics.
