  1. The wrist band more than pays for itself at the end of the night for multiple rerides in Phoenix. Being able to jump off the coaster and run right back on at the end of the night is fantastic. Although the park closed at 10 pm, Phoenix kept the line open until 10:20 for those with armbands, when I was there. Not to forget to mention that the last 2 rides out of the night were EPIC ! When the train hit the lift, all the running lights were shut off, letting the trains run in total darkness. Something not to be missed and something I wont ever forget. Best ride ever !
  2. We took out of town family last wednesday and earlier in the day it was a 30 to 45 minute wait for Scorpion. At that point we skipped it. However, later in the day we got on it with just a 2 train wait.
  3. Why do those pictures remind me of so many of those little Chinese parks ?
  4. All the Krystal burgers closed down in the tampa bay area late last year, the map needs updated
  5. I must say, I do like white castles too. And yes, they are an aquired taste. I've tried the frozen ones here in Fla at the grocers, and while good they just don't beat a fresh made one. ( or as they say, buy 'em by the sackful) Cheap too !
  6. Unless it's at 2am bar closing time, then they're "good" , and the lines can be crazy long too at that hour. ("good" at 2 am, not so good the next day)
  7. Hmm, sounds like something a idea someplace like Conneaut might want to look into.
  8. Honestly, I can't believe this poor 'lil park is still around. It's only a very little shadow of itself from when I was a kid. I wish them luck and it's on my bucket list for this summer. Just for Blue Streak, Devils Den, those classic flying scooters and the mostest awesomest ride, the best tumble bug left in the world !
  9. Don't miss DiscoH20, it is really a lot of fun . The music and lighting during the ride are awesome! (oldies disco, ie KC and the Sunshine Band etc). It's worth a few rerides. Another plus is that you can bring in a picnic basket to the park if you wish to save a bit of cash and have the food of your choosing instead of the usual fried park fare.
  10. I would have to agree. MK offers the biggest bang for the buck ! It's totally immersive, rides, theming , food, and the best fun all around. Plus, if you are going at the right time, the longest operaring hours for your money.
  11. ^^ Nice pics, and I see the wait for Gwazi was only 75 minutes as opposed to 90 when I was there.
  12. If it ever got built, would there be many people willing to be ride-ops ? Clean-up after each ride would have to be , um, difficult?
  13. When we went last summer, we did the all day pass. For us it was worth it for Multiple rerides. But I could see a less avid rider doing the pay as you go route. Individual ride tickets are pretty cheap there.
  14. ^ That's what I find so ironic about Gwazi. I remember riding it on its first day, and when I got off, I thought it was a decent ride. Just a little too new and smooth. The group I was with also commented on that and we all agreed that it would probably get better after it had a little break in time. Boy were we ever mistaken on that one.
  15. I just thought I would post a quick report of the other day at BGT. It was thursday, the weather was great, (83 degrees) and we were bored, so we thought, heck, why not go and ride a few coasters? So the following is just a few pics of our adventure. First off, is our drive across the bay from St Pete to Tampa, always beautiful. crossing the bay AAh , We're almost here, Shangrila ! But first we gotta stop and get some monies. Uh, yeah,it can be sketchy on the way there Our first ride up at 2:00pm today is of course this beauty. I love this ride I wonder how long it's going to take to get on ? Look at that couple laughing at all those that bought fast pass today ! So yes, the park was very slow today and every thing was walk on. We did the rides multiple times as there was no wait ,until we were ready to leave. For our last ride of the day we thought, seeing as it's going away soon, Hey, lets ride Gwazi! Hmmm, I wonder how long the wait is going to be ? OOOH NOOO ! You have got to be kidding me ! Aaand so, this was the wait in the station. Somebody was getting their ha-ha's obviously. Uh ,yeah. 90 minutes ? And today, my chiropractor said there isn't much hope for me. He did suggest however, that if I re-rode it again, my spine "might" be jostled back to the way it was before ! Oh well, I only have a few days left to re-adjust everything, or totally destroy myself!
  16. Much as I hate to see AirRace leave, I am really exited that the screaming swings are coming soon. I could ride Air Race a couple of times before my stomach said No More. But I can ride screaming swings all day. (and have marathoned it BTW) I wonder where the swings are going in at? The old Air Race spot would be good. Any Ideas as to where they are going ?
  17. In the latest newsletter I received from Funspot, they show dirt being moved for Gatorland Experience, AND ,that the Screaming Swings are under construction and coming very soon.
  18. Just downloaded it. Had a lot of fun watching. Great way to spend some time this rainy afternoon. Thank you.
  19. ^ oh, and btw, we rode Sand Serpent and my parents thought that it was the lamest mouse coaster they ever rode. In case anyone thought they weren't real coaster nuts.
  20. I love Cheetah Hunt just for its all out fun. I took my parents to BGT for the Christmas buffet at Crown Colony , (which was fantastic for only 16 bucks btw. )But the real story here is that right afterwards we went to Cheetah Hunt. My father is 81 and mom, well, you dont ask a lady her age, absolutely loved it. It has all the right elements for just a fun and very re-rideable coaster. My partner and I wanted to do the drop tower but the line was too long and Mom said no way.so we skipped it. But to my surprise Mom and Dad went back 2 days later just to ride the drop tower but by the time they got there it was down for the day. So they just did Cheetah again . It goes to show, one is never too old and a fun ride is just fun.
  21. I get the newsletter from Funspot and in the last one they stated the gatorland thing is coming very soon. No word on the Screaming Swings. I really hope they do put them in.
  22. I rode Gwazi twice on xmas eve, once in front and once in back. Oddly, I found the back to be less painful for some reason. There seemed to be a worse shake or shimmy going on in the front.
  23. It's really sad to hear this. I really think , and hope, it was some anomaly. Because, even though I have a great fear of heights, i really would like to do this course as it is so close to home.
