One thing I've noticed with Funspot is that they install something and try to determine if it's the right place to go. If then it is they make it more perm. But to me, that's half the fun of the place, things are always in flux and there's always something different about the place. little tweeks here and there. To me it's the perfect spot to go, right between the two coasters.

My thoughts exactly. My first time ever visit in september was at first was, this looks like a really nice park, I wonder why everybody rags on it ? The parking lot looks really good, and the front part of the park is really nice with all the trees etc. Then we crossed Wild One and WTF ? What happened ? Come on, how expensive are adding trees compared to adding a new kiddie ride ? For the price, a few trees does not cost that much. My thought with the kids area back there reminded me of a warped Hansel and Grettal area, where you lure the kids in and then cook them in the hot basking sun. Oh Yum, BABY back ribs and rump roast fo dinner tonite ! Oh , if you need to pee, well, third bush to the left !

1st off, thanx to Robb and his beautiful wife, the dominatrix Ms. A. (those boots were rockin! ) heh heh. The filming of the new Air Race was a lot of fun. I never realized how different each spin on this ride could be so different. It really is affected by weight and weight distribution. I did fine for the first 4 rides and then for the fifth my partner and I switched cars and positions. All I can say is that ride #5 in a row sorta did me in. We felt as if we were on a pinwheel. Great fun but , Oh boy did I need a break! After the shoot on Air Race, all of us got a few bonus rides on Freedom Flyer. Great fun this ride is. After the shoot, my partner and I grabbed a bite to eat there and a few adult bevs. . Love the fries. they are really good. Then we grabbed a few rides on the go carts, tilt a whirl, Rip Curl , a couple spins on Enterprise and , yes, Air Race again. (tummy finally settled down enough to ride it again.) Sadly White Lightning was down, but gladly, It was for some new wood being added. In fact we saw lots of painting and sprucing up going on all over. So nice to see them taking care of the park. Only one pic , but I do love the look of this ride, great addition to the park ! Beautiful !

Stand-Up coasters= A failed concept?
djcoastermark replied to fraroc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Same experience as Shockwave at KD. Not bad. I always had fun on it, and didn't have any of the problems some people seem to have on it, but like at KD, the sloooow loading makes it a been there done that type of ride. Even a short looking line can take a long time to get through. I found the comfort level to be way better than on the B&M stand up at SFA. Now that one is a real head banger, worse than the Vekoma hang and bang there. -

Every time I pass by the Dania Beach Hurricane, just sitting there, SBNO, rotting away. It was such a fun coaster. -
Today's Burning Question!
djcoastermark replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, I think a lot of it is relevant to where you live, how affordable and how much time you have. Growing up in Ohio, with CP as my home park, I always dreamed of doing WDW. Now that I have lived here in Florida for many years, doing the Disney parks, and haven't been to CP in almost 15 years, I long to go back to CP. To me, both parks offer completely different experiences. Sometimes I'm in the mood for thrills, sometimes the saturated theming of WDW. There's no diffinative answer, it just depends on mood, money and time. So for me, the answer is I'LL TAKE BOTH. I guess that's what makes me a park junkie, I love to visit them all ! -

AAAh Knoebels. Thanx so much for posting those pix CFC. Although there is to much to see and do( and EAT !), any pictures cannot do this park full justice. I was looking at my park maps and on ride photos from august of this year and your pix keeps me dreaming and wanting to go back again and again. -
Uh, we drove by it a few weeks ago, and I must say, we were not impressed. It looks like your a little above average park model wheel. Also, my partners aunt rode it a few weeks ago and was very disappointed.( She is in her 70"s ) Not so much that the view wasn't "ok", but that for what it cost for one trip around, she felt like she literally got taken for a ride. Though she did say the only saving grace was that because it was so slow patron wise ,they did get to have several revolutions whereas normally it isn't. This is coming from a woman that has traveled the world too. When asked if she would do it again, given the cost, she said no. We only missed the ride with her because we had gone to SFA that day. And for that, her personal review, I am glad we did SFA instead.

I guess this coaster has a real headchopper element ? -
The special pricing comes at the perfect time for us as we are planning on going this Sunday. Hopefully it doesn't bring in a heavy crowd. Now all we have to do is find some inexpensive gear. I'm excited for my partner as he has never been on a hang and bang before and he doesn't fully understand the true meaning. Hopefully after making him ride, he doesn't want a divorce. lol

I agree, a dark ride would be a good fit, especially with the heat and afternoon storms here in the bay area during most our looong summers . Something to cool you down and also be open during the almost daily showers. Still, for a new coaster, the one going in at BGW would also work well here, because many times throughout the year it's a little empty crowd wise during the off seasons. A lower capacity thrill ride might do quite well.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

I rode Phoenix in july and all I can say is that if it was neutered, wow, what kind of crazyness did it once have? Because it was running nutsoid when I was there, especially at night . As far as Twister goes, my first ride was in the last row and , dare I say, I did not really enjoy it. However, We got right off and re-rode it in the front and loved it. -

National Roller Coaster Day
djcoastermark replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sooo, the weather here was lots of rain today, therefore coaster riding didn't seem to be in the cards. Instead, in honor of National Coaster Day, I had an Insane Coaster Wars marathon going on in the house all day. Seasons 1,2 and 3. Now I'm going absolutely crazy for a coaster fix! -
OMG OMG, screaming swings are finally here ! My favorite flat ! I have been waiting for FSO to get this put up and running ever since I saw it sitting across the street in pieces waiting to be put in its new home. FYI, the one at Kissimee is included with your POP armband, so I would imagine it will be the same in Orlando.
