That's a really hard ask from the forum. We need to know a bit more about what you like, where you've been before, budget, doing any sightseeing also, willing to fly between places, renting a car, etc.? You say 'a couple of days per state', but some states could be a week or more and some you may just drive through. Give us some more information and I'm sure people will be more willing to help. If I assume you've only ever been to Florida and you want big rides and a few sights I would do a NYC / Jersey / DC / Virginia / Pennsylvania / Ohio focus

^That's great to hear, I'm glad CP did the right thing and spoke with the employee. Now we just need someone to speak with the ignorant bar patrons! -

Ok, a few things here and then we all need to move on. - Homophobia will not be tolerated on this board AT ALL. - Don't tell someone who's a victim to suck it up. - Don't make excuses for someone being complacent. - I have now heard stories like this from parks for the past two years and that annoys me. I really feel that our society is devolving and it sucks watching it happen. - I encourage the original poster to follow up with Cedar Point, and if they don't give you a satisfactory answer that you push harder. Our friend who dealt with a similar situation at the Dollywood Hotel was given a very satisfying conclusion. Now, can we go back to our normal CP Thread? Magnum is sinking, Iron Meanstreak will have a launch that will work slightly better than Lightning Rod, and Rain Operations Procedures are the best! -

Don't diss the ride so much...this year isn't exactly the highest bar to set! -

It still baffles me how a park's operations can be so bad. How does it take 15 minutes to load a single 8-person train? What do they do during that time? They make you take your wrist watch off, put it in a locker, and then give you a wrist strap locker key. I am not making this up. -

^Hopefully for you they're keeping it down these few days to get it working for Memorial Day Weekend. -

I think at this point we have a right to be a little ticked off about the whole situation. Again, had this ride been at a Six Flags park or an Intamin ride at any park the enthusiast community would be ruthless! We've been very supportive of the ride and the park, but a little more transparency at this point would be nice for people planning trips well into the second season. -

^We have friends who are there and it was closed all day yesterday but they got on it this morning. -
Not my area of expertise, but we've had a few good meals (and beers) at Smoky Mountain Brewery, both the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge locations.

^I think you're confused. There is a park in Brazil called Mirabilandia and they're rumored to get the old Intamin. -
The staff at HH is a majority college students so they don't have the staffing ability in April or September. In the early and late season you'll see temporary employees working slides or slides closed due to lack of staffing. I'm a very temperature dependent water park person though. I need the air to be warm and the water to be VERY warm, so I wouldn't enjoy the parks those off times a year anyways.

So I assume the investigation will come out soon and find that the girl ignored instructions, stood up, died. Very tragic and sad, but I really hope the park picks back up quickly and can bounce back from this. Rapids rides have existed for 30+ years and there have been a few incidents like this, and there have been incidents where the ride/operator was at fault. I really hope we don't see seatbelts installed as I'm a big proponent of NOT having them on water rides that don't need them. -
I remember commenting to myself this day..."We have been here for three days and haven't been on a coaster yet...awesome!" Seriously though, if you're not really a waterpark person but want to try one out at some point, get a cabana! It makes your day so much more enjoyable and easy. Totally spoiled now and need them when we go to water parks (or other parks that offer them!)

^It's been about 5 years so I'm sure things can happen. Sorry to hear that, hopefully they both continue to be the great, strong parks they can be.
