  1. A few quick things before more people jump in... - Have you checked rental car prices? With the amount of random Uber's you have planned you may like the control and timing of having your own car. Often times you can get some really good deals on cars. - Stick with I-Drive hotels SOUTH of Sand Lake Road on I-Drive. Basically anything between Sea World and Sand Lake Road is going to be fine. - Great time of year for weather and crowds, but like you said, be prepared for Quick Queue at BGT on a Saturday. - ClubTPR offers discounts for the Busch parks, and sometimes they'll post stuff online as we get closer to that time. - Kraken VR is optional but you'll still need to wait a stupidly long time compared to before.
  2. I'm in the camp of "I can't see how they're going to make this work, but let them try!"
  3. I've seen two, maybe three rafts at a time on the slide portion of these rides before, but obviously someone screwed up here and didn't stop the lift and just kept sending more rafts!!!
  4. Wouldn't ride this myself and wouldn't put any of my family that I like on this ride.
  5. I agree. Certainly seems like poor planning. I also have a bit of anger towards the removal of Adventure Mountain as it was unique, different, exercise, and amazing!!!
  6. Lots of weird accidents lately that shouldn't be happening to real parks.
  7. ^Yikes! That is really screwed up!!!!
  8. ^She does love history!
  9. Riding Roller Coasters. (Like I said, she's weird)
  10. 1. Carousel of Progress 2. American Adventure 3. Hall of Presidents 4. Mexico Boat Ride 5. Journey into Imagination (Yes, she's very weird)
  11. Funny story... At Carowinds we used the Kiosks and then pointed them out to some of our friends. The unhelpful worker behind the counter asked the other worker "what's a kiosk?", I thought to myself..."It's what will replace you VERY SOON!"
  12. Agree about the Kiosks! We used them at Carowinds and they were awesome.
  13. A few things about the 'dough' as opposed to other more frozen treats. The dough is served 'cool' and if you leave it out it should be eaten within three hours. I like to leave it out for a bit and get it to room temperature for maximum deliciousness. As there are no eggs in this dough and the flour is heat treated it is super safe...so safe, that you can eat a bit, then put it in your fridge for up to three days and it's still good...or in your freezer for three weeks! I can vouch for this as we've done it for the other famous Cookie Dough shop up in NYC. So let's see, it won't melt, it's not as messy, you can still get toppings, you can get a variety of flavors, you can save it for later, and it's delicious. It totally wins over Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt to me!
  14. I'm sorry, but that is just ridiculous.
  15. I'm hoping this is like the next big 'frozen yogurt add your own toppings' trend.
  16. Yes. Yes it is.
  17. Japan. (She told me that's all I'm to write...just Japan.)
  18. Toverland because it has crazy stuff.
  19. I agree with Joey, the whole complex was ahead of it's time. I mean, it even had a giant slide which are now the new hotness everywhere! Unfortunately, technology like this changes and upgrades so fast that it's cost prohibitive to keep up with it and when we brought KT right before closing she was done after about an hour as she can play better games and do better VR at home!
  20. ^Yeah, some of us East Coasters are not super thrilled about this random no warning releasing Kangaskhan in Anaheim for two days thing!
  21. This is actually a much more involved question than you think. There are so many different areas in Orlando and it really depends on where you'll be working, where you see yourself in 1-3 years, how much you want to spend, how far you want to drive, etc. Rent in Orlando has gone up a LOT in the last five years, especially in the decent areas. A lot of our friends who work in parks (or even 'real' jobs) will share a two bedroom, two bath apartment in a better area rather than have their own 1 bedroom in a more sketchy area as it's a better deal. As for other things to know, it's not as super magical as a lot of people thing. You have to work hard, you have to be 'on', you have to put up with some really terrible weather...but there are some awesome perks to living here as well! Let us know if you have any more specific questions we can help with.
  22. Tower of Terror...the Japan one. I was very scared of Shiriki but on my next visit I loved him so much and now I have merchandise with him that I even sleep with.
  23. Phoenix at Knoebels.
  24. ^Great question! She says: I remember my mom yelling at me in the Oktoberfest Tent when I dropped the pretzel on the floor. I remember Japan a lot, but it's hard to remember what trip it was as there are so many trips and they blend together. I don't have like a specific roller coaster or park 'first' memory because there have been so many. Sometimes when I look at a picture I think I remember doing it (like hitting people with the T-Express hammer in Korea) but I don't know if I'm really remembering it or I just remember from the picture.
  25. KT has been getting more and more into social media lately and asked why there's an 'Ask Alvey' forum but she's not part of it. So if you have anything you'd like to ask her you can post it in this thread and she will answer you!
