I don't think it's fair to compare an SLC to Kraken just because they both have OTSR's. The reviews I've heard of putting the VR on the SLC are that it's basically against the Geneva Convention and should be classified as a war crime.
^Yup. Orlando has three big 54" B&M's, a kiddie coaster, and a water coaster (that's 42" I believe). A 48" coaster would be AWESOME in Orlando. Hopefully we'll get a clone of this ride in a few years.
I can probably scrape together a few thousand dollars for Kanonen, I mean, I always kind of felt it was an adorable little coaster that would look great in my backyard!
When Bobbejaanland is one of the 'lesser' parks on a 3 week Europe Trip you know there are a LOT of awesome parks in Europe. I really like the park, it has like this old school Europe park charm to it.
If Wave Breaker is a big hit, hopefully it will make it's way out to Orlando. SWO can be tough for families with small children as all three of the major coasters have 54" height requirements.
Exactly.
This is an awesome addition for the park! Honestly, this coaster should have been put in to Orlando instead of Mako. You guys now have two, major, 48" height requirement rides and Orlando has none.
Can't wait to come out and ride this!
KT and I went with some friends to the Crayola Experience and were blown away by how much there was to do and how much fun we had. It's a really great hidden gem in Orlando for kids.
My biggest issue with VR is that until the processing power increases, it really doesn't improve the experience. It makes it different, but not better when you are looking at N64 graphics *cough* Six Flags *cough*
To me, a far bigger issue is that VR totally kills the loading times and turns a 15-20 min wait into an hour wait. I really hope the whole VR-on-coasters trend burns out quickly and doesn't spread to more parks. Kraken is an excellent old school B&M and doesn't need a gimmick like VR for people to ride it.
I completely agree with this.
So the machine was smarter than the humans, the humans didn't believe it, overpowered the machine, and nearly killed innocent humans. Bring on Judgement Day!
^Thanks for the update, I had actually almost forgotten about this park. I'm glad they're investing in these sorts of additions and look forward to visiting again with KT at some point.
^I don't think it's any big secret that Orlando did not have the best summer. Between Brexit, Brazil's economy, Pulse, and Zika it's obvious to some of us locals that tourism is down. Throw in the horrible uncertainty of the upcoming election and it's a mess. No one's really admitting it or freaking out publicly yet though, so maybe that's a good sign.
