Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

^I'm not a fan of snorkeling or scuba diving so I have not done either of those experiences. I know people who have done the Scuba experience and really enjoyed it, I'm assuming the snorkeling will be just as good. We HAVE done the Behind the Seeds tour and really enjoyed it! Very cute and fun. -
Ferrari World Discussion Thread

^It depends on what you care about. If you're just into the coasters you can easily do Ferrari and IMG in the same day. If you want to do more, then that's not really possible. I still believe in all of their current states Ferrari is still probably the closest to a full day park in the UAE. Motiongate will probably take that title once it's fully open. -
^I was wondering about that Jacksonville performance, we've been seeing Groupon's for it for like $30, which is a bit scary!

Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That's sad. That ride had two amazing things going for it: 1. Hit by a truck launch. 2. Scariest OMFG moment of airtime ever on that hill. In true Fuji-Q fashion they've 'halved' it! Hopefully something cool comes out of all this, but I just don't trust the place. -

^Have you ever been to Ferrari World before? I wouldn't let this one attraction not being open stop you from visiting a really interesting park with at least two other big, good coasters. -

^&^^^ But why should they move away from a core demographic that is obviously doing VERY well for them? We've seen company after company figure out that families bring in money and teenagers don't. A 50" height restriction, exciting big ride can be just as enticing to children as it can to teens and adults if done right. -
It sounds like 3 days at Disney would be really nice for you guys then. Lots of dark rides (almost all of which have either been redone or new in the last 15 years) and amazing table service food everywhere you look. Some may argue for Universal as they have a more 'technological' dark ride, but once you've done one or two, you've pretty much done them all as they're very similar to each other.

^If it gets the 50" height requirement that Dollywood's has, this is a great fit for the park! If it gets the more common in Europe 55" B&M height restriction I'm not so sure. -
With only three days and not waiting to rush/credit whore the place I would choose one resort/area to enjoy and come back again in the future. - Disney - Universal / Fun Spot - Sea World / Busch Gardens If you tell us a little more about you and your fiancé we could help you choose where you would have the best time.

^I'm assuming we'll be seeing the Shanghai Pirates system on some other WDW rides soon enough anyways so they won't redo ours. Seriously though, I don't get impressed by much and I was super impressed by that damn ride!!!! -
Good question... Hmm, if you look at Canada's Wonderland / Niagara Falls Area versus Dorney/Hershey... This is tough one as I'm not the biggest fan of the majority of those places! It's certainly a MUCH easier trip (mileage, border crossings, extra time, etc.) if you do Dorney/Hershey. Plus you could add Knoebels, or maybe just do Knoebels in place of Dorney! It seems to me that I would choose that. Leave Canada (and other parks that you can do easier with that itinerary) for another time.

KT is super into this book series and was horrified by the 2004 Jim Carrey movie adaptation. Fast forward to today and Netflix has done an amazing job bringing the books to life. If you ever read these books, or you're into dystopian, steam punk Young Adult fiction I would highly recommend you check it out. In addition to Neil Patrick Harris, there are some other surprise big stars too. So, who else is watching?

^As soon as I saw this announced I figured the Disneyland Fanboys will lose their mind!!!! To me, this seems like when they took the WDW Annual Pass hike justification of adding the Photopass option. Disneyland people will get their photos for $10 AND oh by the way you can make fast passes easier now. I don't see a big problem with this roll out, and yes, I assume we're looking at a potential up charge in Florida as well now.

^12 is considered the max age for most activities. There are certainly some activities that a 12 year old would like, but they have to realize they'll be surrounded by mostly 6-10 year olds. For the language barrier, as long as your child is friendly and outgoing it will be fine. If you go on Wednesday's, at least 30 activities have staff that will speak some English. On other days there are always at least a few activities where you'll find English. KT, two years in a row, managed to get through several Japanese only activities. -

LOL to the strike comment! The London version is one of the ones we're hoping to try later this year. We'll be sure to do a report if we make it. -

^Yeah, there are absolutely smaller more 'non-profit' versions of this around the US. Some science centers, kids museums, school based play, etc. But the scale of this place is just crazy!
