  1. That order has quite a bit of backtracking. Like you start on the east coast, head to the midwest, then back to the east coast, then all the way across the country ...
  2. The pop-ups were interesting until I hovered over a thread with embedded pictures in it. The resulting preview popup was huge. I'd imagine posts with youtube/coastertube videos in them would also trip it up.
  3. It's also somewhat common for rides to open a few weeks into the season at parks that open a bit earlier then the others.
  4. There's currently a Tim Hortons commercial in Canada playing that uses footage from Knotts. The plot of the commercial is that two guys walk into a "Canada Land" attraction at a theme park, and then realize they need to return home for "roll up the rim to win". The funny thing about the commercial is that the same clip of the boomerang is used in each shot, so the ride cycles like 4 times during the 30 second commercial. Edit: Here it is.
  5. To compare, you can go back and watch the Behemoth testing videos. The first videos show it going pretty fast. In particular it flies over the last bunny hill. But the breaks were turned up, an the ride slowed down to a more normal speed for opening. So the speed it's running now isn't guaranteed to be how it will run at opening.
  6. He has the most wins, though I still feel Roy was a better goalie. It would be interesting to see how Brodeur's career would have been like without playing in front of the Devils defense first system.
  7. You can get room prices on CPs resort website. www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/resorts/hotels/ Breakers Express is the cheapest Cedar Point resort.
  8. Well, Maverick is open during early entry, Dragster is not. And typically Dragster's capacity is extra poor in the morning, as it takes about an hour of warming up before they start loading full trains. (at least they do this in the colder spring/fall months). So I'd say in either situation go to Maverick, and then come back to Dragster later.
  9. I saw Mick Foley at SFGADV getting walked up the exit for Nitro.
  10. ^^ The camp grounds in the area are kind of sketchy. I used to stay at one right at 250 and the turnpike, but it was kind of gross. There's also one just past the park that has tent camping, and also cabins to rent. Wasn't too bad. ^ You probably won't get early entry the day you check in, as check in will be well after early entry ends. You will however get early entry on the day you check out.
  11. I would say I probably watch the discs about the same. After receiving them, I tend to watch each disc once straight through. Although I prefer the main disc, I do find the footage disc interesting.
  12. I always suggest Breakers Express for affordable hotels. It's real close, and you get th early entry. All non-CP resorts in Sandusky are IMHO very hit or miss.
  13. I wouldn't group SoCal and LA in together though. On my few visits I definetly like parts of SoCal. However LA itself is just a disgusting hole of a city. I would never want to live within the LA city limits.
  14. Michigan's Adventure is kind of in the middle of no where though. They might not be able to get enough in return for that land compared to VF/WoA.
  15. I had that happen to me. I think it was like 1:30-2:00am when I rode. There was an army of street cleaners and trucks scouring the midways when I left.
  16. Maybe for some sort of special event like New Years. But not on a regular basis. A roller coaster just can't run around the clock without some downtime and maintenance. And there's quite a bit of cleaning that is done in off hours when the midways are empty.
  17. Well technically you guessed BC, so you were off by about 1,200km.
  18. I believe Mindbender at West Edmonton Mall used to pull something like 6.9. But doesn't anymore since the last car was removed after the accident. (or was removed BY the accident)
  19. I'd like to see a picture of the woman.
  20. They're not going anywhere. They just LAX so much they're spending their vacation there.
  21. All of the major chains do it. Paramount, Cedar Fair, Six Flags, I've seen TV commercials many times which use footage from the other parks in the chain.
  22. Not really. Most people are sound asleep when the sun comes up. Whether it's daylight saving or standard time. So the idea of prolonging daylight does end up saving energy.
  23. Sounds like you've been getting hit hard then us this winter. Last winter we were getting hit with a few feet of snow every week straight through till April. This year has been pretty much the opposite. In fact I don't think we've had a real hard snowfall in 2+ weeks.
  24. ^ That empty seat is probably where they'll put the accelerometer to record the g-forces. I doubt it'll run this well when it opens. Behemoth also ran much faster during testing then it did when it opened. So it'll probably be slowed down a bit before opening. Though it does look pretty damn good so far.
  25. The warranty is based off of the manufacture date. (which is printed on the back of the console). There's no receipt required for the warranty. Both times I've had my 360 replaced, all I've had to give them is the serial number. There's no proof of purchase required. Buying a used Falcon is not a bad route to go. They are still somewhat prone to 3RRoD, but not nearly as bad as the original batch of consoles. From what I understand, the failure rate of the Falcon's are down about 10%, where as the original's were >30%.
