  1. Just to warn you, Idlewild, Lakemont, and Delgrosso's aren't as close as they appear. The roads to get out to Idlewild/Lakemont are not interstates, and slow down through the many towns along the way. If you start near Kennywood, and head out to Idlewild and Lakemont it would probably take you a few hours of driving & time at the parks.
  2. I had it #2 on my list. It really impressed me. Although I hated it after the 1st ride, but then it grew on me as I rode it more.
  3. I know it's just personal preference, but usually when we plan an event we like to always have a "Major" included with every ERT schedules and we try to end on the best coaster you possibly can. Maybe they're more concerned with letting their evening cleanup crews take care of the park without worry of running over guests. It does seem kind of odd to have an evening ERT with only the rides at the front of the park.
  4. You should see Rattler at Fiesta Texas sway. You'll think the ride is about to collapse it moves so much.
  5. It was pretty windy during the afternoon that day, but it calmed down quite a bit by mid evening. TTD re-opened mid evening, and we ended up riding it around 7pm. I noticed plenty of fog back in the Snake River Falls area, as well as over in the CarnEvil area by Dragster.

  7. I have trouble enough texting while not driving. I definetly wouldn't try it while driving. Last year a lady at work had a son killed in an accident. He was texting while driving, got distracted, and veered across the center line hitting a garbage truck head on.
  8. GTAIV killed my 2nd xbox when it launched. Now ODST has killed #3. A month or so past warranty as well. $150 later, I have 360 #4 and a brand new three year warranty. I've managed to take apart xbox #3 for the fun of it. Chances of it going back together properly are slim. Maybe I'll use one of my old repair boxes to send it back to MS in peices.
  9. Same here. It was running cold and slugish when we rode Megaphobia. On the other hand, it's clone Rampage at Alabama Adventure was most of the most insane rides I've been on. Complete opposite to my experience on Megaphobia.
  10. If you want to have 6 people in one room you're only option will be the Lighthouse Point cabins. Although there could be suites at Breakers that sleep 6, but those are probably going to be too expensive. The normal rooms are all listed at 4-5 people I believe. Although technically you could get a normal room and just put a couple people on the floor. Lighthouse Point would probably be more comfortable. Weather in late September can be cool, but generally comfortable. You could get lucky and get nice weather. Be warned though that nice weather on Halloweekends Saturday's can result in the park being filled to capacity. Twice I've been at the park on nice Saturday's in October and the park has been packed.
  11. How do you pass out from a broken finger? Unless it was a compound fracture, spraying blood everywhere ...
  12. ^ I made the mistake of sitting in an outside seat, with no one in the row in front of me. When it turned that first time I got a full unobstructed wave to the face.
  13. I remember the lap bars on Ripsaw being pretty brutal on us tall people. It took quite a bit of effort to get out of it. I was worried for a minute that I wasn't even going to be able to get out of it.
  14. Ha, I don't even remember that photo being taken. Maybe one of these days I'll finally start my TR too. I think we can blame the Smile Cam feature on Robb's HD camera for that one.
  15. I still miss WWL though. The difference between this and WWL, was that WWL didn't get you drenched. I like flumes that get you wet, but not soaked. I normally only get to CP in the spring/fall, so I'm not sure when/how often I'll ride this.
  16. That day was awesome, although the heat almost killed me. I don't think I've had such a change in opinion as I did on Rampage. After the first ride I wasn't sure I wanted to ride it again it was so rough. But after leaning where I had to brace it got much more enjoyable. It was just so crazy intense you couldn't not like it. Though it was pretty insane sitting in the back and watching the entire train bounce going through that 3rd hill pothole.
  17. I don't have all that high expectations for the Habs. They've pretty much turned over their entire roster, not to mention letting Koviu and Kovalev go. I think they'll suffer with team chemistry. I think the Leafs are a long shot at best to make the playoffs, although they should be a very different team to watch. Burke has made their defense huge compared to last year. So at very least we should give opposing teams some serious punishment.
  18. ^ I don't think I would have tried crawling out of there bare foot under any circumstances.
  19. Pittsburgh has an interesting setting, so could be a decent stop. (along with a stop at Kennywood) Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis though I doubt would make decent stops. Those cities are not going to seem very interesting after seeing nice cities like DC and NYC. Unless you want to go to the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland. Otherwise I'd just say keep on driving past these cities.
  20. Especially old wild mice with aging friction brakes. In those pictures it looks to be fairly damp out. So not really surprising that rides are closed.
  21. I don't believe Sky Screamer was ever the tallest? The 450 foot stat includes the 150 foot hill the ride was built on. The towers themselves are not 450 feet. This is after all the park that still advertises Dragon Mountain as the worlds largest steel roller coaster.
  22. Yeah, we probably weren't dressed properly for the city museum. Crawling though those things in shorts and sandals wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing. Quite often I ended up dragging myself on my back, as crawling on my knees was kind of painful.
  23. Those of us that were not so good just ended up stuck upside down for most of the cycle.
  24. Prowler was definetly family friendly. Except for that little girl who had to be taken away by an EMT causing the ride to get shut down for awhile.
  25. I think I can handle that. Though could probably have used the flash ...
