  1. Bah, just slap a new set of brake fins and send a train. What could possibly go wrong? Other then a repeat of Wild Thing that is.
  2. Or it just valleyed during testing. They'd have to remove the cars one by one, could just be a picture taken before the final car was taken off.
  3. Based on "wooded undeveloped land", I'd say GCI. Although the specific terrain of the site would probably determine for sure. A B&M invert to me seems best suited to be dropped on a flat piece of land. But a GCI woody if built to use the terrain/woods would be awesome. IMHO a B&M invert would be a waste given the situation. Although I'd think traditional sit down coasters would be better suited to take advantage of the terrain over top of an invert.
  4. Was that the system they brought in just for Millennium Force? Opening year for MF the line was getting insanely long. So they closed off the line, and started handing out tickets with a time that you could start lining up. Wasn't really a "fastpass" system as much as it was a system to prevent the line wrapping halfway around the park.
  5. I have a Canon SX200IS that I got last year. Nice point and shoot camera with a large zoom, and small enough not to be a burden to carry around.
  6. Nice! We had an Adam/Colecovision combo when I was a kid. I fondly remember playing Buck Rogers and Mousetrap on it.
  7. Hanno already gave you his advice. Just start using the camera. Play with the settings and see what affect they give. Or just shoot in auto.
  8. Unless you want to overpay to have some teenager with little knowledge "fix" your computer, don't take it to a big box store like Staples. You're just throwing your money away.
  9. The discussion threads dedicated to a specific park are typically started by a big news, like a new ride announcement, etc. Park discussion threads aren't normally started just for the sake of discussing that park. That's probably why you couldn't find a thread for Hollywood studios, etc.
  10. I like it so far. I think I'm in chapter 7. Although I despised FFX. It took me forever to finish that one because I just couldn't stand the story.
  11. Well with MF, the lift hill only takes about 20 seconds. So you'll be nervous for a little while, but it's all over quickly. With TTD waiting in line the first time watching it run is the worst part. The ride itself isn't that bad at all, as it goes too quickly to give you time to be nervous. By the time you realize what's happening the ride will be over. I think if you've ridden a hypercoaster and was fine with it, you should have no problem with something bigger.
  12. There's actually technically 6 different endings in Bioshock2. There's a good, neutral, and bad ending based on how you deal with the little sisters. Then each of those three endings has two versions that is determined by whether you save the three NPCs you come across. I got the good ending, with the bad version of not saving them. I'll have to replay the game at some point to get the other endings.
  13. ^ I'm not seeing on that page where it says that they only encourage to process at the park it was purchased at? If they allow this it's definetly new, as all of the passes I've bought before specifically said that they had to be processed before being used at another park. In fact the last time I went to SoCal I asked if my un-processed voucher would be good at Knotts. Their answer was no, but that they could refund my money so that I could purchase a Knotts pass. (which at least at the time was more expensive). So I just skipped Knotts that year. Personally I would be hesitant to try using a voucher at a different park. Considering how many people have had issues with physical cards, I wouldn't try my luck with a voucher.
  14. Cedar Fair parks won't let you process at a different park. They make it quite clear that you must have your pass processed at the park it was bought at before using it a different park. Though I believe they will give you a refund, and let you buy a new pass at the other park if you can't process first. But if you have a season pass voucher for Cedar Point, it must be processed before it can be used anywhere else.
  15. Keep in mind a one way car rental will cost you much more. Maybe look at your trip and see if you can rearrange it into a loop, where you can start and stop at the same city?
  16. Looks awesome. Hopefully GCI can convince someone in the US to build a ride like this some year.
  17. Ask Jeff Johnson, he experienced the real thing.
  18. Add up the cost of admission + parking at all the parks you plan to go to. If the cost of admission + parking at all those parks is more then the cost of a platinum pass, then get one. If the total cost is less then don't get platinum.
  19. I once watched a mother pick her daughter up and place her in the seat on Mind Eraser at Darien Lake. The kid was so short that she couldn't even climb into the seat by herself. Needless to say that kid didn't get to ride.
  20. That's quite a bit to attempt in 25 days. And those parks cover quite a large area. You're going to have quite a few long drives in between many of those parks. You might want to try to narrow your trip down a bit. Looking over your list, I have a rough estimate of 25-27 park days not even taking into consideration visits to DC or the falls. Add in travel days, and it seems like you're going to go over on time.
  21. Personally, I'd rather spend the money for a private hotel room. But I'm too introverted to ever consider something like this. But, as long as you're careful I don't see it being too crazy an idea. Probably no worse then staying at hostels.
  22. You'd probably want to look at late May, early June. Schools in Ontario go till late June. Though I believe schools in the US may get out earlier. Although you still run the risk of lots of class trips at this time. Although early June is still typically not too busy. May though you'll need to confirm that everything is open, as some parks don't normally go to daily operation until mid May. May weather can also be a bit more unpredictable then June.
  23. I went out and bought myself a new washer/dryer today during boxing day. (Canada's equivalent to black friday in the US). My family doesn't actually get together until tomorow, so I'll get something then. But our gift giving isn't too crazy. Except for my nieces/nephews obviously who get spoiled.
  24. With hard drives being so cheap, I'd suggest getting two hard drives. Use the 500gig hard drive as storage, and then get a smaller dedicated hard drive to install the OS on. Should help a bit with performance. Plus, if you have all your storage on a separate drive you can reformat your OS drive down the road without worrying about backing stuff up. You should probably start by picking out a mother board, then CPU, and then figure out what kind of RAM to get. Though if you do go with 4gigs of RAM you'll probably want to go with two sticks of 2gig. Don't get 4x 1gig sticks. On quite a few motherboards, filling up the RAM slots with 1gig sticks will actually slow the computer down. More RAM isn't always a good thing. Or at least, more RAM isn't bad, but using too many sticks can reduce performance.
  25. I would say SFSTL is better then WoF. Prowler and Patriot were good, but the rest of the park was pretty forgettable. SFSTL I feel has the much better ride lineup.
