If hes going by bus, I doubt he would be able to get VA and Texas in (VA is like 15 hours driving wise) He was suggesting Virginia OR Texas. Not both of them.

The Legacy of Summers/Dinn
Carnage replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was a financial decision. They were giving the ride frequent TLC. But it was tearing itself apart, and it was costing too much to maintain it. Before slowing it down, it was costing CP over $250,000 a year to maintain. -
In the US kids would be back to school by then. Summer holidays would be July/August.

Mom Angered By Prize At Oaks Park
Carnage replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was there even a girl on the poster? I'd like to see the poster itself. It almost sounds to me like it was a poster of just the playboy bunny logo. -
The park gets just over 3 million people in an entire season.

Possibly buying a home, what are the hidden costs?
Carnage replied to spaceace12's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yes, if I was buying a new car, a new computer, etc then I would expect a warranty. And likewise if I was buying a new home, ie having a new home built, then I would expect a warranty. I think it's even law around here. But if I was buying a used car, a used computer, or a used home, then I would not expect a warranty. If I were to try to sell my house and someone made an offer that included a warranty clause I'd tell them to get lost. Once they take possession, it's no longer any of my concern. Including a warranty clause would open me up for abuse. -
Need a ton of help.

You'll probably have to camp. You should be able to get a campsite being less then 18, but no hotel is going to rent to two 16 year olds. -
If it was free, maybe. But not at the price it costs to get in there. Even at half price I wouldn't even consider it. There's just not a whole lot there that interests me. There's parks with free water parks that put Soak City to shame, so I really don't quite get paying full admission for it.

I would think that only someone who was desperate to sell would agree to that no? If I was selling my place I would never include a clause like that. Once the person takes possession it's their problem. As long as the house is in the same condition it was when the person agreed to buy it. -
Millennium Force Cable
Carnage replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
MF normally runs three trains. Running two trains is uncommon, and probably only happens due to technical problems. I've been to the park over a dozen times since the ride opened, and I think I've only seen two trains ops once or twice. -

Interesting looking park. Though I don't quite like the color of the water in that wave pool. -

Your first mistake was actually reading the Youtube comments. Youtube comments are the cesspool of the internet. -
You'll make new friends in high school. I have a handful of friends that I still hang out with from high school. Other then existing on Facebook, I don't hang out with anyone who I knew in junior high or earlier.

I wouldn't consider them lucky. I'm not scared of heights, and yet the idea of climbing out of those seats 300 feet in the air, and over onto a tiny trolley car would scare the crap out of me. -
And Cincinnati to Williamsburg looks to be about a 10 hour drive. Not sure how you could do Kings Island and BGE back to back with that kind of drive in between.
-
Have you taken into account the drives, or do you plan to drive overnight or something?? Some of your days have very long drives. Like the Dells to Louisville. Or being at Kings Island one day, and BGE the next?? Montreal to Toronto is quite a drive, and then another fairly decent drive to Sandusky the next day. Seems to me you'll probably need to add dedicated drive days in between some of these parks.

What is it about Kingda Ka?
Carnage replied to DJSonic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Considering the track record of hydraulic launch coasters, no, not strange at all. I'd expect it. -

A ground wire probably wouldn't completely protect from a lightning strike. Put as many lightning rods as possible on it, and if it happens to hit in the wrong spot it's going to fry anything it hits. Coasters going down due to lightning strikes are fairly common. Sensors and electronic components can easily be destroyed by lightning. -
Cedar Point TR: Opening Day 2009
Carnage replied to TopThrill182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ It's not whether they get you in to all parks, it's whether they scan at the gates. Worst case it doesn't scan, and you have to go to guest relations or a ticket booth to get in. Though mine scanned, so you "shouldn't" have a problem. -

Same thing for my Canada's Wonderland Platinum pass. I was there Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, and it scanned without a problem. -

I remember that as well. If I remember correctly it looked alot like an old school Cylon. -
^ That is correct. They require that you are able to buckle the seatbelt yourself, and you have to have about an inch of slack. Although the length of the belts can vary from seat to seat, and the enforcement can also vary greatly. Like the amount of slack required, and whether or not a ride op can assist you can very from visit to visit.

It might seem expensive, but it's a very good good value for what you get. In fact if you priced out this trip on your own, I suspect it would cost more then the TPR trip. The cost of rental car, hotel, and admissions really add up. Though, you might be able to do it for cheaper if you crammed 4 people in a hotel room to split costs. But even then, you'd be missing out on all the perks and ERT, so it'be debatable if it would be worth it.
