  1. If you mean a TV dinner, could be as long ago as 2017. However, I did get hungry last night and microwave myself some oatmeal, if that counts. When was the last time you got a new appliance in your home?
  2. To be fair, it is only slightly less bumpy than the most flat kiddie coaster I've ever seen...
  3. In August; lucky me! Yes, it was Steel Vengeance. When was the last time you used a toaster?
  4. Cool for them. It's a park I can definitely see myself NOT ever visiting again, but that's just me. (Well, not just me among enthusiasts, but you know what I mean, lol.)
  5. THIS. Yeah, this. BGT continues to hold its place in my memory as one of my top parks, and its coaster collection always comes to mind as one of the best and highest-quality I've encountered. But as a (not that this is rare or special) big fan of Steel Vengeance, this new RMC is the icing, the cherry, the....[drools]
  6. Well, that's the first I've heard of this. I've always understood that it's basically completely random. Aside from blatant cheating, the only rules I've noticed (which I know doesn't prove they provide an advantage, but I'd suspect so) are "no bank shots" and to not put your hand under the glass when rolling. Then again, I'm no expert; just another person who sometimes gets carried away playing. I'd definitely ride Tumbling Timbers, the infamous spinning kiddie coaster reimagined as a flat ride!
  7. Oh, I do that all the damn time, even in the face of getting called on it. When was the last time you played fetch with a dog?
  8. Haha, I used to be so afraid of doing that. I want to know what I have and haven't read for a reason. Or at least, um, reasons. Not so clear on it anymore.
  9. ^Now you tell me... Although that'll never happen, anyway, since I only ride outside horses on the Grand Carousel.
  10. As is so often the case for me, I don't care one bit for the themes/franchises, but I love the names in and of themselves. Shellraiser. Badass.
  11. I had a fun little visit there, and now I'm even more glad I did. I was never really a fan of Screamer, but it could be a notable addition to another small park.
  12. That Mini Break Dance seems pretty nifty. Considering I willingly rode a Rockin' Tug and a Frog Hopper last year, I would probably ride and enjoy this. Might take a few visits to Knoebels, though, considering I haven't even gotten to all their thrill rides...
  13. Wow. So disappointing, though I'm glad for your sake that you'd already visited previously. Is February an off-season of sorts in that region? That doesn't sound like the sole reason for the problems since you mentioned frustration on your other visit, but I was hoping it might be part of it. I don't want the closures to be a bad sign for the park's future, but I've read a concerning number of complaints. I love Himalaya-style rides with airtime! Those rides are hit-or-miss, ranging from dull to generically fun to amazing. I've found a few gems with mega positive G's or bucking bronco jolts.
  14. lol Okay, okay, it's one of many hated coasters that I didn't find too terribly rough. But it's certainly not "good," either. I miss the Monster Mouse they had. (And Kersplash...but just a tiny bit.) Heck yeah they do! Their rare ride collection used to be pretty stacked. Huss Jumping, a modern Rotor that dropped the floor surprisingly low and stuck you real good, sometimes a Rock-o-Plane...and, before my time, Lusse Auto Skooters and who knows what else. I didn't realize how lucky I was to visit a few times before some ride retirements made their collection much more generic.
  15. Yes, lol. Do you ever order your groceries online?
  16. 1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3. Kawasemi, Twisted Colossus, Storm Chaser 2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018? Ten 3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite? Well, I went to Knoebels, so…that or Cedar Point. 4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)? Steel Vengeance 5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018? Hmm…I ended up enjoying Invadr after my first couple rounds; Verbolten was more fun than I remembered; I finally developed an affection for some of the classic Arrows. 6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018? I really liked that one loaded mac ‘n’ cheese place that everyone always talks about. The new restrictions, while frustrating to read about, didn’t hamper my choices at all. 7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson? All of them were RMC except Adrenaline Peak. 8. Name one park you will definitely visit in 2019. Your mom’s trailer park. 9. Best ride themed to a bird? Phoenix. 10. Lamest ride/coaster you rode in 2018? Zoooooom at Oaks Amusement Park. 11. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2019 ride) Lightning Rod 12. What new-for-2019 ride or coaster are you most looking forward to? I really like the sound of Copperhead Strike. Also, Hakugei, of course… 13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind. My mind seems to have settled on Six Flags Discovery Kingdom…I trust that won’t ruffle too many feathers. 14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose... It's a Small World. (According to my belief system, it's a coaster.) 15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme? I’ve only attended Holiday in the Park. 16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion? The one with fire. 17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently? Six Flags America. 18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one. Intamin. 19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one. Dominion, though another visit to the Island could sway me…I think of it fondly and frequently, plus it’s got Beast. Oh, this is based off the coasters? Then definitely KD. Twisted Timbers is there. 20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018? I don’t even know, so I’ll go with the one I anticipated and worried about the longest before finally riding it: Steel Vengeance. 21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other? Probably Phoenix. 22. Best drop tower under 150 feet? I really like a good S&S tower, but for ARM towers, the one at Knoebels stands out. 23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more) Maverick. 24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one. Skyrides. 25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides? At Enchanted Forest, that’s too easy and yet almost too hard. I’ll go with the walk-throughs, the fountain show, and the slides. 26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why? Unofficially, it’s Kings Dominion. It’s one of the bigger ones and I like the setting and ride collection. Kings Island is very close in my mind. 27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit. Enchanted Forest; the creepy, quirky old walk-throughs and the attention to detail throughout the park. 28. Launch or Lift? Launch 29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018? I used several via TPR. 30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster? I don’t care what anyone else says; it’s still Grizzly at CGA. 31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult? Cult. I'm over it. 32. Best Batman themed ride? Joker at SFDK, with the Messrs. Freeze a strong second. 33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you. A wristband…I don’t collect them or wear them for extended amounts of time anymore, but they sometimes at least come home with me. 34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you) Voyage. 35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something? A number of times, but nothing more than the likes of a branch, a lost hat I couldn’t catch, etc. Except for one time when I was riding a traveling coaster with my hands up (there were zero warnings not to) and I hit the track above me! 36. Skywarps: credits or no? State your case. No. Reason: they’re just not. 37. Turkey legs: nah or yaaaaassssss? No. 38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode? I think it was Rougarou. Which is not a good ride, by the way. 39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose? Funnel cake with strawberries on top. 40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!) Credit: Jack Crouse
  17. Sounds like mostly good news about Medusa; thanks for the update.
  18. I'm not sad, I guess. I enjoyed this coaster when I rode it (and there's a good chance I still would), but I'm not too sentimental about it. Onward and upward!
  19. Well, that's a pleasant surprise! It's not one of the coaster types I'm most excited about, but it's a solid addition that will make the park more complete for thrill-seekers like us, and a better incentive for me to get back there than just Electric Eel. (I did enjoy Valravn, for what it's worth, which helps ease my mind about the lower desirability of the vest restraints this will likely have, even though I'm not a fan of them.)
  20. Goodness gracious. Well, that was my first reaction, even though I can't say I'm too broken up about this (if it does mean the park eventually closes forever/becomes even worse in a new location). Unless you've visited more recently than 2012, I'm going to use my visit that year as supporting evidence that yes, it could still really use some love. Agreed. I enjoyed the park more than I expected, and had fun on other rides, but that's the only stand-out coaster for me.
  21. RMC, although I like Intamin more (compared to other manufacturers, not specifically RMC) the older I get, and some of their competitors less... Toast or plain bread?
  22. Totally just retook this, despite my vague awareness that I'd only added one woodie from last time. Invadr puts my count at 93.
  23. Yes, on Thursday night... Have you started celebrating a holiday for the first time at some point in your life past early childhood?
