  1. Disneyland ticket books: Fronts Backs Knott's Berry Farm Super Bonanza ticket books:
  2. A new pair of Nikes. My dumb a$$ had borrowed a couple pairs that were the wrong size, and proceeded to go completely lame over the course of several days. These ones are much better.
  3. I'm glad they make sure Fast Lane users have priority. I'm all in favor of single rider lines, but they do "devalue" line-skipping options when both save the same amount of time, if you think about it in those terms.
  4. I was a little disappointed about the added seatbelts. That said, I've read positive comments from after they were added, and I've found that seatbelts don't necessarily dampen buzz bar airtime; they just change how you're thrown. Then again, I was also disappointed about the permanent use of the NAD trains, which I'm generally all for. I support all classic trains, but damn those Vettel trains that they can't use anymore are good-lookin'.
  5. Just a guess, but I think West Coast Racers is going to be a rename of the Cyclone 500 go Karts to match the new theme. The new coaster sounds more like Maxx Force. I was thinking that West Coast Racers does not sound like the name of a major coaster. I mean it'd almost be refreshing to have such a simple, non-ridiculous name at a Six Flags park, but still. I swear if Maxx Force becomes a thing, I will insist on spelling it Max Force, to combat the Six Flags silliness a little.
  6. I totally did, whoops! Thanks for bringing back that memory. Conneaut does have a very modest selection of must-rides--I too would say they're Blue Streak, Devil's Den, Tumble Bug, and the carousel. Oh yeah, and that rare spinning ride that's themed to, like, old ladies and soup, I think? I find their other rides to be classic but generic. That said, the park can be a surprisingly compelling place to spend some time.
  7. Lol, I can't decide if "Adrenaline Alley" is why-didn't-anyone-think-of-this-before great, or typical-Six-Flags cringeworthy.
  8. This is great--thanks for highlighting it! The park is definitely on my list for my next Branson visit. Someone kindly save me the searching--were there originally whisperings that this park would/might be temporary? I hope it sticks around.
  9. Aw, sorry man. I really don't think it should reflect on the game or be a bad sign for you, if that makes it better. I've heard mostly great things about it, but I just wasn't quite feeling it at the time. Be sure to post what you think!
  10. ^I did the same thing recently! I returned it.
  11. The ride and the area look fantastic. I enjoyed your photos.
  12. I see the advice has already been taken, but I will second riding Raging Bull in the very back--that's the ticket to an airtime-filled first drop. Also, I still find it hilarious that their super-special exclusive partnership is with Goodwill. (Amazing Goodwill? lol)
  13. It's definitely the sketchiest Tumble Bug I've ever ridden.* *Out of two.
  14. Jizzman, your post had me on the edge of my seat with suspense. You had me at: But then, soon after...
  15. ^Lol! If you're right, then I love how I jumped straight to the assumption that they were the worst ops ever, or underperforming at best. Which was it, Larry?
  16. I haven't ridden it in a few years, but that's about how I remember it. At the time, I felt it was somewhat overrated, since it was very well-liked, not just for nostalgic reasons but for its ride quality, which I found to be "good" but underwhelming. I haven't said anything recently since it's clear from a number of vociferously negative reviews that it's gotten a lot rougher, so my memories aren't of the same Blue Streak that folks are panning now. Oh, and since we're doing this again too: I'm basically straight down the middle when it comes to Wing Coasters. They're not forceless. They're kinda fun and worth a few rides. But I don't really consider them intense, and they're among neither my favorite coasters nor my favorite B&Ms.
  17. ^Hmm, interesting. Last year when I visited in September/October and in November, basically every crew member on Joker was hustling. They also had like a wall full of operations award certificates or somesuch. It definitely helped compensate for some of the delays that can be inherent to RMC trains. Shame if they're slacking at the moment. (I also liked that there were one or two attendants who had no inclination to assign seats--it's clearly still a policy since others were doing so during the same time periods, so it wasn't just crowd-based.)
  18. Yeah, that is low key hilarious. I always love the common sense copy/paste safety statement. Not saying this to personally disagree, but just to randomly riff of that: I f--king hate those statements, to the point of irrational ire. Conversely, I love that 1 in 100 article or press release where a park has good cause to say something like that, but doesn't (or it isn't obnoxiously and condescendingly overemphasized).
  19. This was a shock--I was quite disappointed at first, but I'll live. It being a wooden coaster, it always had a spot on my "someday" list--I still care about those out-of-the-way, lower-tier woodies even though they're not my highest priority. I feel for those who will miss it or are really down about not getting to ride it, though.
  20. I've never "gotten" this ride like many enthusiasts do. I don't have the pain problems you do, though, so I don't mind riding it, but it's not atop my list of "best Arrows." Then again, I don't have Arrow nostalgia to begin with.
  21. ^I'm in a somewhat similar situation, except I'm going to be changing from membership to membership instead of upgrading from a season pass. I decided to just cancel my existing membership with plans to purchase a higher level at my next park (I don't live near any Six Flags, so single-park perks/having a membership to my closest one aren't important to me). I know this means new fees instead of having them roll over, but I'm okay eating that. Hope I don't regret it now after hearing about other folks successfully handling situations like this more smoothly, though! I'm still waiting on a "confirmation" that my cancellation is "real," though (seriously, Six Flags?), so we'll see if even the first part of this plan goes as expected.
  22. The Starbucks has boysenberry-flavored drinks! I believe I thought mine was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor, but that might've just been a result of outsized expectations.
  23. Is it, though? Just kidding; I agree.
