  1. Home park: Oaks Amusement Park, Portland, Oregon By "home park" I simply mean the closest park to me. Further away is Enchanted Forest, and those are the only two active coaster parks in the state.
  2. California Screamin'. It was my seventh coaster credit, and the most traumatizing coaster ride I have ever been on. Not because of the ride, but because I was scared. And I didn't know it went upside-down until I saw the warning sign...that was not good for my nerves.
  3. Looping Thunder (Pinfari Looping Star) at Oaks Park has a rep for roughness, and it deserves it. It especially hit me on this one spot on my lower back. It hurt for days (mildly) after I rode it 5 times. Timber Terror gave me a headache every time I rode it! I believe all the other coasters at Silverwood also contributed throughout the day, but it was hard to keep track. There's one part of Timber Terror where I could practically feel my brain bouncing back and forth inside my skull...not so fun.
  4. Have ridden: Vertical Velocity (without the V2 part--I think it sounds unnecessary to say) Tremors The Matterhorn Haven't ridden: Magnum XL-200 Kingda Ka (I know it doesn't mean anything, but my favorite "fake interpretation" is "Kingdom Come") The Boss (Always makes me think of Bruce Springsteen! It wasn't even named after him or anything?) Coaster Thrill Ride
  5. Well this was fun. This does describe me pretty accurately.
  6. Here's my top 3 for now: 1. Scream-n-Eagle at Oaks Park, which is a KMG Afterburner. It's just plain exciting! 2. Rock-o-Planes (I've only ridden the one at Oaks Park). They're fun because you control the experience, and they're even moderately scary, although I wouldn't call them "thrilling". I found myself saying bad words out of surprise the first time I rode one, which is not typical of me. 3. Gravitrons! (I've been on the Starship 2000 at a Funtastic carnival.) They're not in the least bit scary, but it's a fun sensation and concept. It's trippy to look sideways and down, and it's fun to try to "unglue" your head. They're also extremely creepy--imagine being alone in a dark, enclosed ride with just the operator! I've yet to try positioning myself upside down, etc. (if it's even allowed), which is apparently doable and common but looks unsafe to me. Anyway, they're decidedly more fun than Round-Ups, which I like but don't find very exciting.
  7. Wood: Timber Terror at Silverwood. It seems to me the back seat really is the best! Steel: Aftershock (fka Deja Vu) at Silverwood. I couldn't scream enough on the first drop down the tower! I am so psyched about riding the Giant Dipper at SCBB! Anyway, I'm not biased towards Silverwood. I know those coasters (especially Aftershock) aren't considered "the best". Someday I'll really be able to compare them with other impressive coasters!
  8. 1. Airtime hills! 2. Headchoppers! I used to love them because I thought it was cute how I took them so seriously and consistently ducked. Now I've realized it's more of a rush to just keep my hands all the way up. 3. Towers/spikes--I may be wrong on the terminology, but I'm talking about vertical drops facing down, like on Vertical Velocity and Aftershock (fka Deja Vu). 4. Banked curves--I'm not so excited about them anymore, but I used to think they were really scary, believing the "sideways parts" would make me feel like I would fall out. 5. Lift hills still freak me out a little, especially in the very back seats or looking down at the first drop. I hope those are all "elements"!
  9. I agree with netdvn with regards to Space Mountain. The theming definitely makes the ride. (Especially considering how slow it actually is, which is something that really surprised me!) I'm not overly enthused about Disneyland coasters (and Space Mountain is my favorite), but I love the park as a whole for its top-notch theming. For rides, though, I want a thrill. I can't think of a coaster that I wish had theming, because I just don't think in those terms.
  10. When I was at Silverwood it seemed like at least 80% of the visitors under the age of 20 were "preppy". I hadn't seen so many people wearing that style in so long--long enough I was even a little surprised it was still popular! Even when I was in high school in 2008 the "preppy" look seemed to be dying down a bit. It doesn't bother me, though.
  11. Name: Laura Home park: Oaks Amusement Park Massive coaster count: 20! (17 steel, 3 wood) Interests: Nothing, really. I just chill, listen to music a little, and go to school to learn about web development.
