  1. Thief: You can call me a pirate. I've stolen music, movies, TV shows, and video games through torrents, YouTube downloads, and downloading individual mp3's, ROMs. I've stolen back tons of personal belongings that my parents took away from me ever since I was very small. I'm actually very good at finding hiding spots. The only places I can't look are the safe, locked cabinets, and my parent's workplace. Victim: Let's see... Shirts, lunchboxes, a Harry Potter book, various Game Boy Color games, a Peanuts compilation book, homework, jackets, some toys that my friends borrowed, money, a USB drive, a TI-83 Plus, and a couple of CDs.
  2. IZ 12 E nuff can be translated into "Is 12 Enough" in reference to the 12 coasters Carowinds has. 12E itself could be a reference to CP. Bulldog Shipping - I typed in Bulldog Shipping Morgantown and couldn't find any info other than a link to Carowinds Connection. Lightning Does Strike Twice - Carowinds had a coaster called White Lightning before. This could be a reference to the actual name or theme of the coaster. White Lightning is a nickname for moonshine. According to legend, stock car racing originated during Prohibition with bootleggers trying to outrun the cops with souped up cars. http://appalachianhistory.blogspot.com/2007/03/moonshine-and-nascar.html The crates are apparently making revving noises. Reference to NASCAR? "Think Big... Really Big" - B&M hyper Unsure about the significance of the number 44... "Morgantown West Virginia" - I'm not sure about Morgantown itself, but I know that West Virginia is known for moonshine and I believe a lot of people living there enjoy NASCAR, so there's a chance that the new coaster will have a racing theme or a possible throwback to the original White Lightning coaster. PS: Didn't Thunder Road have a Prohibition theme to it at one point? - Dan "Overthinking and repeating" EDIT: Record-breaking, history making... I'm pretty stumped with this one. Maybe the tallest, fastest, B&M Hyper? EDIT 2: Read up on Carowinds Connection...
  3. A fulll day for both seems like a good idea... KD is more of a rides park while BGW is more of an atmosphere park so if you want to spend more time focusing on rides and coasters, KD is the park for you. If you prefer shows, atmosphere, and taking in theming, BGW is the better park. Quick Queue should be just like Fastpass. It costs money, but I've never had to use it so I can't tell you how much it costs. Busch's crowds can vary greatly so I would suggest hitting all the major rides (coasters, water rides, DarKastle) as early as possible so you don't have to wait in longer lines later in the day and you can spend the rest of the day taking in atmosphere, getting in rerides, and taking in all the shows. Both parks have their pros and cons. Personally I would suggest spending more time at the park which suits your tastes better.
  4. I saw Bill Nye the Science Guy on TV for the first time in almost 12 years last night! I felt like I was in first grade again...
  5. If Kings Dominion added an 550-foot Inverted Intamin Woodie Looping Aquatrax Dive Machine for 2010, and BGW took away Apollo's Chariot, Griffon, and Alpengeist, BG would still have higher attandance than KD. Most FAMILIES don't go to parks JUST for the roller coasters. It's the atmosphere of the park. Why do you think Disney does so well? Busch Gardens Williamsburg has miles more of an atmosphere than KD, and you can't argue with that... (so please don't try) If BGW were to take out the three signature attractions in the park, they would be pissing a whole lot of people off. Sure the park may have decent attendance at first, but there would be a drop in attendance over time. Most FAMILIES go to theme parks JUST for the rides and to spend time together, not the theme. The atmosphere is there to add to the experience. The main reason Disney is so successful is because it's a brand that everyone can recognize, not because the parks are heavily themed. If theme were the focus, parks like BGW would have higher attendence than parks like CW. With the loss of BBW, a lot of people will be very mad since BBW is the only coaster families with younger children can enjoy together. Now chances are, if KD can market the giga-coaster right, they probably will pull people away from Busch. IIRC, KD received a boost in attendance with Dominator and they even had to close the park to capacity during one of the events so this giga-coaster might bring a lot more people in.
  6. 1. I'm terrified of heights, but love coasters, riding in airplanes, and standing on top of skyscrapers. 2. I've been drawing pictures since I was 2. I've gotten a lot better since. 3. I'm kinda lazy and I procrastinate often. 4. For an Asian, I'm actually not that great at math. 5. I used to be afraid of the noise the garage door makes, the grandfather clock in our living room, and smoke alarms because they were so loud when I was younger.
  7. Hello... I managed to pick up a few rare brochures over the weekend on a trip to Virginia Beach. I have... 2009 Virginia Beach Motor World FEC x2 * 2009 Ocean Breeze Waterpark x5 * 2009 Busch Gardens Williamsburg x6 2009 Busch Gardens Williamsburg Events Calendar x1 2008 Ocean Breeze Waterpark x1 * 2009 Go Karts Plus FEC * * These brochures come with maps... (FEC stands for Family Entertainment Center) In case you may be wondering why these are rare... 1. They're brochures for obscure parks that nobody really would pick up. 2. Not very many people are offering these up for trade. 3. There aren't that many of these in circulation right now. I'm pretty much the only person offering these up out of all the other coaster enthusiast forums with brochure/map trade topics (TPR/Coaster-NET/Coasterforce). If you're interested, please PM me... Thanks - Dan
  8. I have to agree with everybody else on this. The park looks incredible. Building design is impressive and the coaster layouts are very well-done and realistic... I would actually like to see more of the buildings outside the park. I just can't wait to see the finished product.
  9. I enjoy collecting brochures/maps. It's been a hobby of mine since I got a cool-looking Disneyland map when I was about two years old from my parents. Since then I've been an avid collector, but my parents don't really approve. They think collecting maps/brochures is a waste of time. I say the same about my mom's lottery addiction, except for the fact that she loses money...
  10. Every coaster at a Busch park has a "Born On Date." This one simply reached it's stale point. Same thing happened with Python a couple years back. The next time you ride a coaster at a Busch park, look closely at the first support outside the station. The date is located there. Sorry if I sounded stupid, but what exactly is a "born on date"? Is it the date the ride becomes a maintenance nightmare? Or is it technically the date the ride opened and Busch is just placing it there to let people know that the ride will be torn down soon?
  11. NOOOOOOOO! I can't believe they're getting rid of my favorite Arrow coaster at the end of the year (and on the 25th anniversary to boot). I guess the rumors of Wolf's days being numbered were true. Hopefully, Wolf's replacement will be just as good if not better. - I really need to get to SFMM, KI, and CW before those suspendeds are gone too.
  12. I decided to make a few just for fun...
  13. ^ Ouch... ^^^ Our house is pretty much infested with ants too. You could use Chlorox to kill them, but they keep coming back. Try to keep your food sealed and make sure you don't have food crumbs lying about. Luckily it's not as bad at our home as it was a few years ago... Rant: I was riding my bike to BGW to get some park maps to trade. I almost ended up getting heat stroke because it was so hot. When I got home, my parents dug through my backpack and found the maps. So I basically rode out to Busch for nothing. After that, my dad got really pissed that I was doing an outline for my speech supposedly at the last minute. Then I found out that I got an 89 on my English summer course. We're having guests come over this weekend so I had to vacuum the house using the $#!++!3$+ vacuum cleaner ever. While my parents were cleaning the house, they found my shredded WOF map that I was so close to finishing... - I hope today's better...
  14. That place looks great! Will TPR be taking a trip there sometime soon? Dan - I love how all the rides look like they were made from coathangers.
  15. Does anybod know what happened to Big Mike to warrant this smiley? Did he get run over by a car or something?
  16. I recently had a dream that I failed all my courses and I was forced out of the house to live on my own. I'm not sure whether or not it was supposed to be a good dream or not... I also recently have dreams where I'm going on trips to parks I've never been to. Before I make it to the front gate, I wake up.
  17. I feel you're working on waaaaay too many parks right now. On top of the Sunrise Point park, the KI recreation, and this park, I really feel you really need to finish one project before working on another. Your parks are very good, but it seems that every time you start on a park, you quickly move onto another project. Overall the park looks great, but I'd seriously love to see you finish your old parks (definately the design you gave to your grandfather before he died) before you start new ones. - Dan
  18. No because I'd be at Target (where the spaces are probably not all filled), not Wal-Mart. Target's closer to my house. Do you know the origin of this emoticon?
  19. ^^ That story reminds me of what happened to Maverick's heartline roll. Good - Architecture design of the buildings. - The coaster's layout looks great. Suggestions - Somebody posted this before, but the carousel doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the park. A traditional one would probably look better. - I'm not the biggest fan of the purple on the coaster. Maybe change it to a different color (blue or red seems nice) or you could give it a white color. Now that I think more about it, a more earthy color would look a lot better on the coaster so it blends in a bit more. Unless you want the coaster to stand out... - The coaster might look better around hilly terrain. Maybe you can place the drops in a ravine and have the ride twist and turn around scenery. Overall - Excellent start. Your other parks look great and I can't wait to see more. (I kinda liked the heartline roll. It made the ride seem unique compared to other Schwarzkopfs but that's just me)
  20. Man, the pirate area looks much better than before! The new mini golf course and the flaming pirate ship really add to the atmosphere. I can't wait to see the Jungle and Western areas. The new rides in the Spooky section look excellent! Amazing work overall...
  21. ^ When each one uses different characters.
  22. You mean like this? It's pretty awesome to finally see the ring's on site. Now lets hope they can get the ring's up on the tower soon so the ride can finally open.
  23. Honestly compared to the first two movies, the third one didn't really have impressive death scenes (the tanning bed one is the exception). Most of the death scenes (including the coaster accident) were hilarious IMO. Overall, I felt the coaster was unrealistic at best and the way the coaster crashed cracked me up...
  24. SFGAm's Shockwave Documentary Not a documentary, but media footage of GASM at SFGAdv when it was the tallest, fastest coaster in the world.
  25. ^ A Mr. Freeze-style Flying Dutchman might be able to work. if you can somehow incorporate three trains onto it. I'm not really sure about this because I don't really have NL. A triple dueling Flying Dutchman might be able to work as well.
