  1. ^ IIRC, it took us about an hour to get to Orlando from Daytona and we did manage to get lost as well. I'm not sure about Orlando traffic since I've only gone there once, but it didn't seem too bad. And this was during the holiday season... Too bad you can't stop at Carowinds... EDIT: Don't forget to pick up a few Florida oranges/citrus fruits at the roadside stands on the way down. I absolutely love those...
  2. Exclusive footage of KD's newest coaster. I hear its got a heartline roll and 1 ring.
  3. ^ Those "reality" based shows are actually more entertaining than any coaster documentary that I've seen (with the exception of some of the older ones). I've seen countless coaster documentaries and they're all the same. Sure they were fun to watch at first, but over time, as I learned more about coasters from lurking around CB, CF, and TN from watching those shows. I can see POV footage online (or on a TPR DVD) if I really wanted to so there's no point in watching those shows for POV footage. On top of that, the POV footage online doesn't have annoying commentary to go with it. And has anybody noticed that they pick the nerdiest of coaster enthusiasts to interview? For example they'd always pick that dude that calls every single coaster his number 1 for every single special. And I remember them interviewing a dude who loved SUF so much, he had his braces match the colors on the ride. Then there are the people that claim they've ridden the coaster 100,000,000 times and then brag about it... (I'm probably being a bit harsh here though since I'm posting here) They'd also show the exact same specials over and over during the year or re-air previous specials from previous years. For the Disney specials, they just added footage from older specials (Doesn't Disney do this with their DVDs?). So IMO, I don't really miss the specials that much.
  4. Yes... After that comment, my IE froze so I was forced to open Firefox anyway. Man I wish IE would run like Firefox.
  5. I got my brochures today I haven't touched Firefox since morning though...
  6. ^ WOW! I'm hoping those rumors are true. That would be amazing. Page 107 I highly doubt they're building an SLC at La Ronde becuase LR already has an invert. Chances are that moving the old SLC would give TGE more storage space (for a possible new ride/attraction in 2010) Or perhaps the ride is too heavily damaged from transport/sitting in a lot for a long period of time and TGE may have wanted a new SLC for their park, but decided it wasn't worth the cost of repairing.
  7. My dentist told me that my wisdom teeth were starting to grow into my molars and that I need to get them removed before I get really bad tooth damage and cavities later in life. This thread is making me nervous...
  8. ^ Rumor has it that the yellow supports that ended up at KD were moved to CW. Some poster on CWMania also claimed to see blue track inside large crates, but there's been no photographic evidence so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
  9. Posted on the top of page 107.
  10. I decided that the Windows XP meadow was really boring so I downloaded a wallpaper off the Homestar Runner website. I WANT YOU to join the Homestarmy.
  11. ^^ The iPhone app is probably for people visiting the park to check out wait times, crowd levels, etc. I believe other parks like CP do the same.
  12. First CP has two mishaps (MF's cable lift & TTD stalling). Now WDW has had two mishaps (Monorail crash & bus accident). Anybody wanna place their bets on which park is next?
  13. Since you're headed straight down to Orlando, I recommend either heading to BGW if you're taking the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel or KD if you're taking 95. If you plan on taking the trunnel, BGW is about 20-30 minutes north of Virginia Beach; however, Hampton Roads traffic pretty much rivals DC so try to avoid rush hours. You can also hit up Go Karts Plus while you're in Williamsburg since they have a kiddie credit you could try. You can take Route 58 to get back onto 95 and head south from there. I haven't been to SFA in years so I don't know if its close to 95, but KD is right on the Interstate. Just take the Doswell exit (and be sure to take pics of the construction). After the Myrtle Beach exit, just stay on I-95 and you'll be in Florida in a few hours. Take the I-4 Exit (should be close to the Daytona Beach exit) and you'll head straight into Orlando. South of the Border is worth a one-time stopover if you're headed through South Carolina. It's a bit run down, but an awesome stopping point on the way down. The billboards are the best part of the trip. You could also stop by JR's if you're interested in that kind of stuff.
  14. All I'm gonna say is you've got to be kidding me. KD's getting a Giga coaster whether Carowinds likes it or not... BTW: Check out this awesome video of the possible new ride concept that I found on YouTube. I heard that it was gonna have a heartline roll.
  15. ^ Are you sure no one's supposed to know what it is? What if KD put the package with the Giga label as a publicity stunt to generate buzz within the coaster community? It even caught the attention of the local news.
  16. ^ The packaging clearly states that the ride is a Giga coaster so the coaster going to KD will be a Giga coaster (because the coaster with a Giga coaster label is sitting at KD). If they really wanted to disguise the identity of the coaster, they wouldn't put a Giga coaster label on the package. They would probably replace it with a bar code or a bunch of random numbers... Happy Valley's dive machine was already well under construction when the mystery red track appeared at the plant in Ohio. The mystery red track currently sitting in the B&M lot is hypercoaster track. The person was referring to Dive Machine track, which was the Happy Valley coaster track. The only other "red" track to appear there in recent years is DB's track. They already did that once and that was a mistake. I doubt they're gonna unload an obscene abount of track only to have to put everything back on trucks and ship it to another park. Plus there's no DM track sitting at the B&M plant right now, so I'd rule out the DM concept for now... EDIT: What about this???
  17. ^ The DM track was for the under construction Happy Valley in China. On top of that Valleyfair already HAS a hypercoaster and doesn't really need another one.
  18. Totally agree with the above poster. At first I saw a number of small issues, but as I saw more pictures, I saw a MAJOR improvement in scenery, architecture, and design. Overall, keep expanding and adding more rides and coasters. The park already looks incredible. - Dan
  19. ^ FMLs are supposed to start with "Today". Here's mine... Today, I was waiting for my Dorney Park brochures to arrive in the mail. They didn't. MLIA
  20. Hello everyone... I'm currently overloaded with BGW 2009 brochures and would like to trade. I'm also willing to donate some if anyone needs to get their collection running. Aside from the brochures I really need (click the third link in my sig to find out), I'm really interested in... 2000 Cedar Point brochure/map 2009 Universal Orlando/Islands of Adventure brochure/map 2009 Sea World Orlando brochure/map 2007 Cedar Point brochure 2001 Busch Gardens Williamsburg brochure/map
  21. ^^ A lot of companies put old rides into storage. Perhaps TGE didn't have enough storage space so they're moving the track to another park to make more room. Maybe the ride was damaged and cannot be set up without spending money to fix it. The ride was in storage for 4 years so who knows what's happened to it. I'm pretty sure there are more reasons...
  22. Is it that green ring that you see when you look at something really bright and then close your eyes?
  23. Yeah, one of the Targets by me is a Target Greatland with pretty much anything for sale. Its still a big box store either way. All big box stores (should) sell groceries along with other stuff (clothes, electronics, toys, etc). Jazzmin... You should have a talk with your boss about this. If you didn't do anything wrong while you were on the job, and were wrongfully terminated, perhaps you need to reason with your boss. Unless your boss is unreasonable. Then you should consider filing a lawsuit or contacting your Department of Labor. Especially if you felt discriminated/company broke the law, etc. As for this... Scyther is an absolute pain to find and a bigger d!~k to capture. You may be playing a game that doesn't have Scyther (it has Pinsir instead) or you just need to be really patient.
  24. To tell you the truth about the videos, I don't really watch them because I think the pictures already do an excellent job of showing off your park, so I personally won't be too upset if you remove them... As for the "empty" areas, the Pirate area looks large enough to support a mini golf course as long as you can provide an alternative route for the peeps to walk through. And the Roman area... You might be able to squeeze some mini-golf there, but the area looks a bit too small to handle one. A food court might be able to fit though.
  25. ^ Chances are that it would be put into perma-storage like BTE at Darien Lake and Ultra Twister at SFA. They already have a B&M Invert so they don't really need a second one.
