No matter how cheesy --- how could you possibly pass up on a (Tomb of Doom) dark ride? (thought I would ask) EDIT to add cream puff looks OMG offensively enticing... -
I think it has something to do with coasters and rides like drop towers, staying in motion. If they're moving, your phobia doesn't get too (pardon the expression) 'heightened'. I had been afraid of heights for years and years, but still enjoyed riding coasters and (eventually) drop towers and (what I call) upsurge towers? And I have even ridden those awesomely OMG StarFlyers now! I remember in the mid-90s though, stopping all of a sudden 1/2 way up the second lift hill of The Beast at Kings Island (it was a loading prob.at the main station), and that few seconds stopped on the hill, made me feel the whole lifthill was "tipping over" and/or our train was suddenly going to fall backwards down the lifthill, into a crash, etc etc. Never dug my hands into my buddy's arm more intensely than I did that day, I remember. Good times, heh heh. I think I am much better at handling heights than I used to be. Doing the tours with TPR and riding with groups of people, the same "rides with height" has certainly helped me deal better about doing it, even on my own, which I never did before, especially with anything involving a tower, lol.

Very cool report. Thanks for sharing your visit with us. Looked like a great carnival assortment of rides and stuff.

Yes. Rarely if ever, not eat them up. Yum. Do you eat an all-vegetable dinner from time to time?

"Do You Recall" Royal Wood

It's starting to get me down a bit, with the number of medical appointments I have coming up, this continual 'heat wave' (for us) that keeps pounding my system (and slowing me down with aches and pains), and 'stuff in general' making me feel a bit, well... Ick. I would rather be hot and bothered, and getting aches and pains (from walking), back on a TPR Tour, than back here at home. Ick.

"Over The Rainbow" (with the lovely ukeleles) from the GLEE cd - Journey to Regionals
-
I expect nothing less than at least 1/2+ of the nominations picked up, on August 29th. EMMY Night!!!
-
They're finally going to put out a CD on the new Sondheim 'retrospect-ical' lol. End of August. Has anybody seen this and if so, how was it? Just curious. Now if they'd only get their stuff together and do a new CD on the (apparently) great revial of "La Cage aux Folles." Would enjoy Kelsey Grammer in the 'husband' role of Georges and of course, TONY-winner Douglas Hodge as Albin his 'wife' lol. Grrrr. (But still hoping....) Amazon.com is releasing it August 31st. Woo hoo!

It was a great pair of coasters to ride. Thanks for the great video of them, Robb. It's wonderful to remember them so soon, after just having returned home, especially with the video and sound. Mmmmmm... nice woodies. -
TONYs were on last night. Was everybody happy with their choices for who should win what? I was happy with "Memphis" winning Best Musical. And I'm hoping they'll put a CD out of this "La Cage", so we get a good 'hear' of Douglas Hodge (Albin - Best Actor/Musical) and Kelsey Grammer (Georges, nominated Best Actor) and all of them on it. And isn't this the second time "La Cage" has won for Best Musical Revival? Didn't the one with Gary Beach as Albin, win too? .... Just checked. Yes it did, won Best Revival in 2005 as well as Best Choreography. Huh. Sean Hayes handled things pretty good, esp. with whatever they threw him into, lol. And his piano playing! That was very cool to watch (and hear) him do, with the "Million Dollar Quartet" cast. And Kristen Chenoweth too, lol. Very funny stuff there, between the two of them.

Personal opinion re: GLEE at The TONYS..... (last night) I think it was fairly wasted, having Matthew Morrison (Mr.Shu) and Lea Michele (Rachel) there performing, but separately. Michele doing a re-visit of "Don't Rain..." Hmmm. It was okay. Needed a bit more pitch control, but hey it was 'live', right? IMhO, I actually liked what Matthew did better, with the "Gypsy" number. And the dancers. Thing is, with that number (All I Need Is The Girl) ... I sort-of kept expecting MIchele to "make her entrance" in it and then they'd do a wonderful duet of another number together, etc etc. But - didn't happen. Boo. Oh well, any PR is better PR than no PR...yes? But I do hope there's something better planned for the (eventual) performance (I assume) for the EMMYs, end of August? After they get nominated of course, LOL!

Act III of "Carmen". CBC Radio 2 "Afternoon at The Opera"

I had the feeling they weren't going to win it. And I wanted to know what they were going to do about that (if that indeed, was going to happen). And I wasn't disappointed at all. I loved how they were showing Sue getting more and more 'sympathetic' to them. Her votes! OMG! And she's still going to piss Shu off about his hair next year, LOLOL! Love it. It was wonderful. The re-do of "Don't Stop" was nice esp. bringing in Puck & Santana to sing some of it. And Brittany was sure dancing out front there, in the mash number before it. That was fun. I did really wonder how they were going to place Quinn giving birth within the plotline. But who knew "Bohemian Rhapsody" (sp?) would work so well, with all that amazing editting back and forth? That was awesome. I will never hear that again, without remembering (and smiling) about that scene in this show. And once again, I love Dianna Agron as Quinn more and more. Forget the nomination. EMMY immediately! "To Sir With Love" and "Rainbow" were both done really well. With just Puck and Shu doing "Rainbow" I thought was really sweet. And I felt both numbers helped end the season very nicely. And - one more year!!!

Well, however it's gone this past season.... Tonight's the night! Regionals!!! And the cd of the episode's (6) musical numbers has just been released ... Woo hoo! Now available for your enjoyment. Go, New Directions!
-
Tonight's episode was.....wierd. Wierd and.....FUN ---- KY! And I am loving Dianna Agron/Quinn more and more and more! Give this actress an EMMY nomination this fall! Please!!! Her "pre-funk number" scene with the cast was great. Her funk number was bizarre and awesome at the same time. And her "come move in with us" scene with Amber Riley/Mercedes was wonderful. I just love her! And Sue - and Will - and.....omg. This more than made up for Sue not being in last week's ep. So - who got the Funk now, hmm?

A peach green tea smoothie late in the morning. And as of an hour ago, a bowl of butternut squash soup. With a slice of bread.

No, 80% at least. -
I enjoyed it much better than I thought I was going to. Still in a "Lost" frame of mind, lol. Lady GaGa and KISS numbers were fun and everything I'd hoped they'd do with/to them. And Santana rawked! And Brittany with the lobster head. Freakazoid babe! I wish that Quinn had removed her feather eyelashes when Puck and the guys were singing "Beth." More eye contact would have made better drama, I felt. But that's okay. She still looked and reacted great. I <3 Dianna Agron. I didn't know the number "Poker Face" (sorry, didn't know Gaga's songbook) so that was unexpected and totally beguiling for me, watching and listening to them duet. It was Glee Magick, for me. And the intense Curt-Dad-Finn scene... wow. What a bolt that was. The only thing I thought wasn't going far enough, anywhere, were the big bullies. I had the feeling there was going to be more of a punchline at the end of the episode with them. And it didn't turn that way, IMhO. But that was okay. The GaGa and KISS outfits looked great in the hallway too, LOL! omg Only (gasp) a couple more episodes to go? Say it isn't so!!!

Squeeel! Newest edition of Entertainment Weekly has on it's cover, Sue (Jane Lynch) throwing a BLUE SLUSHIE into our adoring gaze, LOL! Title on cover: "GLEE Makes A Splash!". Awesome. Cover story about the show's success, how-they're-doing-now season, and what's in the fall! And other great stuff!!! And in it, there's "stuff about Gaga" including a pic of a few of the girls .... well, it's something. Issue # 1104 - May 28/10 Woo hoo! (Issue ALSO has a look at new Harry PotterVerse in IOA at Universal! Bonus GLEE!)
-
Looks like it was a good production. Have to admit (and it timed perfectly with a Rachel line in GLEE last night, lol), I DID see Patti LuPone in "Anything Goes" at Lincoln Center in what - 1988? playing Reno Sweeney. Great production of a Porter classic. Your lead female there sounded pretty good in "BGB" too. Glad it went well for everybody, including the audience.
-
^ (after watching it) Michael should get another EMMY, just for that line alone, LOLOL!

Island going to blow up? (I also enjoyed how they put together Ben, Rousseau and Alex in the side-ways timeline. Very sweet.)
