^^ Congrats on your casting! I "almost" saw the original Brdwy production of it back in (gasps) 1976??? But it was edged out by a (probable) musical I was seeing instead, lol. The musicals that year on my First-Ever trip to NYC were moreso than the plays, I remember. And now, for something completely different.... WICKED is FINALLY coming/touring to Vancouver, in June! WOO HOO! Checking on the tour's reviews from those who have seen it already, should be a good production of it I was mostly reading. SQUEEEE! And - we got dead-centre of Orchestra, Row 8. Pricy (for us), but we (me and my David) made The Deal about when and if we ever got the chance to see this show..."no matter how much..." So, it's done, the tix are bought. And we'll be seeing it one week before I take off on the TPR Japan Tours!

Bump. With 6 candles on it. (I know I'm a day early - but I'm so excited! Happy Pre-B-Day TPR Forums!)

^ Awesome number! Heard it and loved it! Now listening to... Act II Scene 1 of Nixon In China "Live From The Met" *Also - would like to suggest/ask that this thread title be "slightly altered" to read What song/music are you listening to?... ? Works better for everything else besides a solitary song - like an opera! (Or a soundtrack, or an original cast score...)

Saw the touring company of Avenue Q last night, my second time, my David's first, but he already knew the cast CD backwards and forwards like me, heh heh. Great show! And for my second time it was a real treat, as the first time I saw Q was the first preview week in London, just before starting my first TPR UK Tour, in 2006! And for that version of the production, they changed a few important aspects of the original book/plotline, because of "cultural differences". And also, American vs. UK 'pop humor'. I still nearly peed myself, as it was still an amazing production. But I did know, this was not as the show was originally written. And so this one was great, as everything (and one) was back as it should be. The only thing they dropped was the goofy bit with Christmas Eve and Brian, donating during the "When You Help Others" song, in Act 2. What also struck me was how much more LIKEABLE this actress' take on Eve was! And in the London version, Eve was played by Ann Herada, the Orig.Broadway Eve! And she was way more b***chy in her portrayal (IMhO), but still somehow sweet, esp. when it came time to knock "The More You Ruv Someone" out of the ballpark, lol! But this one I saw last night was easily more enjoyable, even when saying those outrageous lines she said, lol. Everybody in the cast was great, all the lines landed where they should, the singing was wonderful including all the harmonies, and I STILL nearly peed myself in several of the key scenes. As did most of the audience around me. Fun night. A good tour. Now - on to "Legally Blonde," coming up here in March!

I just heard it on the radio.... Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day! Believe it or not.

^ Oooh. You're right. I checked. She features as a "guest star" in any particular episode she's in. Hmmm. Well.... If Neil Patrick Harris can snag an EMMY for his "guest star" time spent in GLEE.... so can Dot-Marie!
-
^ Hope you caught Chris' win and speech on YouTube or something similar, Monica. It was (to me) one of those really great awards night 'moments'. And I am really hoping he gets to repeat what he said or simliar if not even more inspiring at the EMMYS in Sept.(Please, nom.committee?) Or any other awards they would like to give to him, heh heh. And between the "Never Been Kissed" and the "Christmas'" episode, I became totally in awe & love with Jones (and of course the GLEE writers that gave her the wonderful things to do and say for each one). And the little chat with Bieste and Sue in that one changing room scene ("Don't spray each other with foot spray!" Then, after Sue leaves.....pffft! ....then back to the guys... "No.") .... great tv. There's always room for another nomination, I'd say.

Woo hoo! "The Kids Are Alright" won Best Film - Comedy/Musical at the Golden Globes last night! And Annette Bening won for Best Actress in the same category! Rent it. It's a great film, IMhO. I'm sorry we missed it in the theatre. Well written and the acting by Bening, Julianne Moore, Guarfalo (Mr.Donor) and the kids... all great. I hope it gets Oscar nom love, although it probably wouldn't win against either "King's Speech" or "Social Network." Butcha never know, hmm?

^ Aww, such a meanie you are, Elissa! And Chris' acceptance speech was wonderful to hear. Jane's too, lol! And ^^ just so you (and others) don't miss out, apparently (what I read, lately?) GLEE is actually airing it's first episode of the year on Sunday, Feb.6... right after the Super Bowl?!! And I thought the show wasn't starting up again until a Tues.night in February, as well. Hmmm. Stay tuned for further details. (EDIT to add: I also want to push for Dot-Marie Jones who plays "Bieste" to get a Supp.Emmy nom this year. Possible? I think so!)

^ No that was a definite 'exchange of words' in the lyrics there, Mark. Glee for We, lol. And happy days! Congrats to Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch and GLEE too, for their respective Golden Globe wins!
-
Yup. It's been a year.

Photo TR: A Brit Crew Christmas in London
Nrthwnd replied to Divv3k's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Spinning Snowflake... Like the rock-o-plane...only sideways! Great report Divv. Everything looks so much nicer at night with their lights on, etc. Even if they didn't "theme" it to the season, lol. Food looked pretty good, too. By the way - A Merry Happy __________ to you all in the Brit Crew! Enjoy the Holly-DAZE! -
Just got tix online for upcoming touring productions of "Avenue Q" and "Legally Blonde" to be seen here in Feb. and March, respectively. Hope they're good versions of 'them', lol. I saw "Q" in it's first previews in London, back in 2006 - before TPR's First Official Tour/UK started, in fact, lol - and just loved it. Nearly peed myself, it was so funny! So, I am hoping this one is just as good as before. And of course, "Break A Leg" is the only way to do it right, lol!
