Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread

^ Um, I tried looking for the first two videos of the "new coaster" and all I found were videos of Eejanaika, their 4-D coaster which has been operating since what, 2006? With up to 3-hour waits for it too, depending on the weather, the ride ops... The new Eurofighter probably isn't even finished being built, let alone testing. From what I've found on the net about it. Just my opinion, here. Anybody else have new vid or pix, taken lately? ^^ And Barry? I like it! "Fred." -
Getting the sniffles for a day - then they stop for a few days - then they start up again! Grrrr.

Too cool, IMhO not to post somewhere, lol. I "made it" through a website for a new Broadway musical named Wonderland. Look at me, I'm in a looking glass! (o: Opens tomorrow night!

I told my parents just before I moved out of their house and went to college - living with my first partner. I did the worst thing possible, and used The Truth against my mother in a big argument we were having, about (guess what?) whether "I was or wasn't _____". And I used it negatively at her, so much so, she threw me out of the house and never wanted to see me again... Dad comes home, from earlier phone call. He was a homocide and robbery detective and had seen bad scenes and deaths involving gay couples, apparently. He scooped me up, crying and all, not knowing what to do, hearing my mom screaming in the house (and she's not even remotely religious, lol!) and we drove off, to get away from the house. Ended up offroad perched very interestingly above what would be a total straight drop off onto our main highway... Hmmm. He looked at me - and was over 6 feet tall and towering even sitting down - and told me this... "I've seen lots of murders, stabbings, and things that happened to homosexuals." Sidenote - it was mid-1960's and I was just 16. He continued... "I would honestly love to change however you are because I don't want to see you end up..." he choked. But I always will love you. Always, no matter how you are....So are you homosexual?" I thought a few second. Held up, and told him I was. And I was scared of mom. He told me not to worry. And he did intervene and cool everything down... Years later, mom and me found out it was dad's mistress (!) who straightened him out about gay people, and told him "Look, he's your son - you love him, regardless." And he cooled down himself, heh heh. A few years later, my mom founded the first ever (then called) Parents & Friends of Gays, In Vancouver. So - in hindsight - never use your coming out against your folks no matter how mad they may make you want to do that.

Must - visit - park - again. (EDIT to add....mmmmmmmIKEA.) -
I think it'll look fine with everything put together, lol. And I'm looking forward to what they make of Mermaid's themeing. The concept art looks lovely. And the construction is looking true to what I have seen, so far. DCA unfortunately had to deal with a building (and they did great by me) but this should look very cool. And the mine coaster in the middle of it all, LOL! I find the coaster interesting, as it'll be one of the few park attractions you can actually walk around in the same land, lol.

Listening to someone playing fast classical music on the piano, on the radio, is exhaustive!

^ The animation story board looks great. Awesome in fact, as it's timed with the Brdwy recording. But I think I'd still rather see this as a live-action film. The special effects would be pretty amazing, lol. Hopefully, the actors cast would be amazing, too! Note to add, Amazon is releasing Wonderland and Women On The Verge of A Nervous Breakdown a week apart, respectfully. Goody. And I also found out, that the LIVE recording of Mary Poppins is that of the Australian company. Not that it's bad or anything like that. Apparently the show there was/is one of the best productions done, to date. But still, you'd think they could have put which company it was performing, on the front of the cd cover, hmm? Ah well, show 'biz', lol. Available May 3 - and check out a great (IMhO) vid and song currently available at show's site. "Through The Looking Glass"... Awesome. Available May 10. Wish it had run longer. Hope it gets remembered when the TONY noms come out May 3.

In Vancouver, a lot of spots right now are at... $1.32+ Cdn.$ per litre. It's a bunch of money, one of the most-per-litre cities in the country.

I haven't been near the park in months. And the new season is just a few weeks away (April 30th to be exact). Wonder if they've actually started constructing the base and such for this? And if it is indeed, located over where the Wild Mouse (and then the Sky Wheel) used to stand? Guess I will find out in a few weeks' time, lol.

I love it how Grona Lund and the designers/builders just figure out how it all fits together, LOL! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date Olov and all/any of you who are lucky to soon be riding this one. Am looking forward to how the dark ride is turning out, as well. Everything's looking awesome, and I cannot wait for the next TPR Scandi Tour that happens, whenever it happens. -

This looks very cool. It's great how the coaster makers and owners are figuring out that it doesn't take too much to give a steel coaster some good Theme-Love, lol! Might be worth a visit to WH in the not too distant... Might be. -
Cleaned up parts of backyard, today. Looks like crap right now, . But will improve.... soon.... I hope.

Yes... ...And I had nothing to do with 'it'... Have you ever misspelled your own name or home address (or both!) when filling out a form?

Or, maybe it'll be my fave number... and be Three-Seats-Across! Would be just like Fuji-Q to do that, lol. And then, not have a Single Riders' Line! < But then thinks about that, and subsequent lineup time... > Damn. -

^^ Exactly. EDIT to add: Truth to tell, I did get in five out of the seven coasters available at the time, back in the 2007 tour, lol. But it was a long, long day in the lines. One of those things that happens. And I rewarded myself (for being so F-Queue-patient, hah!), with My Very First Ever Dippin' Dots! In F-Q of all places! -

Let's face it. This new coaster is turning on-going return visits to Fuji-Q Highland Park into something like part of a dastardly "TPR Touring Ritual", lol. (dastardly?) If you 'happen' to be touring Japan. (And several of us will be there in a few months' time, so we'll let you all know how long the lineups... ) -
