First Wednesday of The Year, last week! And I totally spoiled myself with the most $$$ pizza on the menu .... and it was glorious as usual, heh. We got snow over the Holiday Weekend, then it's been hanging around, and being added to, every other day or so. For our side of the country, we've had enough. Period. Time to get all rained away, now. Yep, it was much like this, but thankfully main roads could be cleared and salted, etc. Good for city works! Looking west, down William St. We got a lot more snow, a few days after this visit. Right....pizza! The Capricciosa. This had a lot of stuff on it, and it all worked, together! Lots of chile oil on it, too. I even added some parmesan and chile flakes. Threw them around, here and there. It was good. Italian Winter decor. One last snowflake.

Bob Saget, 64. I remember him more from America's Funniest Home Videos, rather than earlier, on "Full House". Nonetheless. RIP. Will miss ya, "Dad."

Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really enjoyed SF:Mexico back in a 2013 TPR Tour, thanks to Elissa and Robb. This was before their woodie (Medusa?) got re-done for another time. And more enjoyment, from what I read, heh. I acted like a nut most of our visit there, from what I can remember, lol. I even wore the Superman cape for kids ..... yep, I did. I also discovered Mexican beer with tomato juice was a - may - zing! It reminded me of actual old days where I would have this in our local bars during the `gay old days` of Vancouver, heh. It was a regular concoction at the time, truth! Long live SF:Mexico and all they have to offer for us! It's really a truly different kind of Six Flags park! This version was in another park. Still good, ole'! EDIT to add: Although it says "GOD", Medusa was actually my 600th coaster! Hence, the sign. Also, trivia nerds, every significant # I reach has been in a different country! Here goes: 100/Wales, 200/Japan. 300/Germany. 400/England, 500/China. 600/Mexico, 700/USA/Calif. -

Favorite non-rides

....and then there's this "new" place in Playland, that had stolen my heart ... and credit card, last year..... Burp. They decided to run the Ride Side Bar during Playland times! Not just during the PNE. This is awesome! And this was decided to start running last year, during "those times" we've been in. Bravo PNE! I definitely obliged, with a fave cider to enjoy. Great job, Playland! -

This place at Playland... Great varieties of fudge available, and always friendly to me. Great young adults running the place every year! My all-time fave! -

Still curious, if you guys got to try out some/any new theme park food offerings, there? Yes? No? I mean, there has GOT to be a new flavor of Dippin'Dots, yes? No? -

I love how a black & white photo can sometimes make things look so 'retro', compared to in colour, etc. Again, wonderful photos you took! Thanks for sharing, again.

I hope the whole re-do is successful for Monte. The shuttle coaster is a real rarity these days. I've been lucky to ride at least 5 (? probably more) of them, including the one in Astroworld (RIP), and the one in Mexico City's La Feria park. It's design and running, has really made it one of my favourite all-time coasters in the world. p.s. An instant adrenaline rush is an awesome thing - no matter how the speed varies. IMhO. My first one ~ Tidal Wave, way back when. EDIT: And both systems RAWK!

Sidney Poitier RIP. He was 94 years old. And the very first African-American to win the 1964 OSCAR for Lead Actor. For "Lillies of The Field." And "In The Heat of The Night's" best catchphrase .... "They call me MR. TIBBS!" And the actress/singer Lulu got a multi-HIT with "To Sir, With Love," based on his movie as a teacher.

And now - THIS IS A RANT. Please remember this. I am totally convinced that supporting Dubai in any fashion = you are obviously, intentionally, ignoring their practices and politics. The thread is constantly referring to `toning down` everything you normally would do, outside of this country. I.E Affection, holding hands, blah blah. IMhO, it is not worth getting the credit(s). Obviously I will never go to to Dubai, but the rest of you who do ..... well, have fun and don`t trip yourself up. THIS RANT IS OVER I do admit, I went on the 2012 TPR Tour to Mainland China and we had to not do overt stuff we would do in our own countries.

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Totally agree on this. And, are they also including Single Riders queue for Remy? Or not at all? I forget. There was one in Paris, back in 2015, which is how I got to ride it five times in a row! It worked fine, for myself. -
Great report, Adam! I have visited most of all the Disney parks around the world, usually June-Sept, and have always dreamed of the time when I could visit any Disney park, during it's Holiday Season. This was a great look at traditions still used and loved, in Disneyland. Thanks for the visit. And the Pickle Dog stand reminded me.... Yes, bought one of those "pickle dogs" way back in 2017 at our PNE. Never again, I say! It - was - huge! And pardon my liberal use of mustard. It helped.
