The Official TPR Video Thread!
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This coaster has been one of my Ultimate Bucket List Coasters, to ride! (And the park too, well yeah.) I have known about it for years and years, with old magazine articles, etc. Great ride on it, Robb. Thanks for posting a vid of this classic! -

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
Nrthwnd replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Nice and clear - but still c-c-c-c-cold. Damn, I hope Spring is kinder to us. -
Have to vent somewhere, right?.... A friend called us up, and offered to "bring us dinner" that he had from one of those meals kits? This one was called "Hello Fresh." We said come by at 6:30. He calls after 7 and says he's on his way. Quarter to 8, he arrives. He also informs us he has only one of the 2 recipe cards needed, and not one for what he's brought. Okaaaaay. David reluctantly agreed to take him back. He loses his parking spot for an hour or so, but get it back, thanks to my noticing the car that was there, had gone. Anyway,.... So ..... it's 8:38 and they are still working on two meals, that are (here it comes) for two people. We are three of us. I'll leave the division of food to them. Still ..... grrrrrrr. This is later than usual, when we eat. David has taken us past 8pm before, but nothing like this. But the food looks good, so who am I to complain about WHEN we're actually eating it all?????

Liseberg Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Thanks for all the updates, Marcus. Much appreciated. I always loved Liseberg, and have always wished I could return there, "somehow/sometime/someway". My last shot in the park. TPR 2014 Scandi Tour. 6-22-2014. -
I think I am very much hooked on pizzas with pepperoni on them, lol. Yesterday, I had the Double Pepperoni, again, with mushrooms added on, again. And it was oh so good .... again. I added also, besides the chile oil I always use, ground parmesan and chili pepper flakes as well. Skies are mostly clear now, but still c-c-c-c-cold and we actually got SNOW this morning. But now it's all gone. The edge on this one was more "charred" than I usually liked. Didn't really hurt the flavour, though. A slice, loaded with parmesan, chile flakes and chile oil. Yum! And I left one slice for David. He enjoyed it.

^^^ So, did anyone get this, and read this, and love this, and ......... this??? I didn't get myself a copy, but am still very curious, y'know? I live off of others' natural experiences. mmmmmmyes.

I forgot to throw in "the extra Mickey," here in this thread. Nonetheless.... As the recent Spiderguy film showed, Marvel Multi-verse Universes do gain benefits. See: The Movie, duh. So here is my TDR candy case Multi-Verse Universe shot, Mr. M. Mouse Size, of course. ... And on a vast TokyoDisney ..... uh ..... Sea of Duckies! -
.... (Continuing on ...) And since there were 3 Spiderguys in A-particular-film-that-did-NOT-get-Oscar-nominated ... <grrr> Ooops. Forgot that SPOILER ALERT thing ....

Just got these from Tokyo Disney Resort via/e-Bay. Decided to pose them together, and immediately thought... it's .... A Marvel Multi-Verse Encounter .... .... On a vast sea of duckies .....

^ Looks awesome, Garet! Tokyo Disney Resort, besides offering those insanely LARGE popcorn buckets most of the gp go nuts for, including in the USA (See; WDW, Figment), they also thankfully offer a (what's called a) SNACK CASE line, which is for easier snacks to carry, like M&Ms, jelly beans, etc. And certainly easier to display around my home, lol. These two arrived today, and I figured out a rather fiendishly clever place to display them. Bwa - ah - ahhhhh. This one, you found in Tokyo DisneySea. And this one could be found in Tokyo Disneyland. Put them together and ....... ...... it's A Marvel Multi-Verse Encounter! On a sea of duckies! -
^^ With the new ending (7 attached mini floats) to the Electrical Parade, I'm sure that "some fans" will be livid that the "To Honor America" float, which traditionally ended the parade, is being replaced, at this time. Even if they bring it back into the parade later on, people will still bitch about the "THA" float being put "on hiatus." By the way, I do love all the mini floats they've created, especially that all of them are honoring Mary Blair's iconic IAsW designs/style.

The posters are now up, all over New York City and Broadway! Wish I could be there to see it. <sighs> Hopefully, an eventual Cast CD will happen. Photo from the net. Thanks, whoever took this!

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Maybe this is the start of their renovations for the future expansion? Or, it's for several brand new rides to replace the removed ones in that space? It also looks like the kids' train ride is gone too, including the station. What I can see from this angle. And I just noticed the Carousel has been moved, too, from it's original northern spot. Closer to The Beast. Thanks for the photo. Hmmm. Guess we "stay tuned" till then. EDIT to add: David just told me, there had been a big fire on the PNE grounds, on Sunday. The fire was not near Coaster, but involved "one of the buildings" there. Hmmm. Found a link to the story : https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/pne-overnight-fire -
The Canadian truckers' blockades are stupid and useless, for what they've done already. Which includes hasseling a Food Bank for free food, something they should have never done. One of them quoted, said this was a Big Deal and not a minority that is unhappy with the vaccine mandates. Fuck them. It IS a minority of truckers, not to mention people there who aren't truckers, causing additional hassels. Get your shots for C's sake. Your life is not being totally taken over by The Government. Idiots.

Two 'celebrity' couples I want to acknowledge for their determination and love for each other, outlasting whatever anybody thinks, blah, blah. First up, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, who have shown that a 'piece of paper' doesn't mean you can't love the one you love. (Do I see lyrics here?) Then, Carl Dean and Dolly Parton have just celebrated their anniversary .... since being married in 1966! A wonderful couple from what I see of them. Happy Anniversary to You Both!

Last Wednesday I did my Once-A-Month 'Thing', which was having something non-pizza, then ordering a pizza for take out, later on. I had the next salad offered, along with two meatballs for protein. What I got was A LOT OF greens. And my meat balls. But I managed to take my time and eat ALL of it all. And later on, picked up a white base-sausage-rapini pizza. Still great, even eaten at home! Still cold outside. But no snow, knock wood. Rucola con Limone was my salad choice. And the 'crispy prosciutto' was added on. What I got. A LOT OF ARUGULA, hmm? Red onion in there too, a nice vinagarette.... and the meat balls. Oh yeah ..... and all of that crispy prosciutto on it, too. My 7:30pm pick up order. So good and yummy.
