  1. ^ Also, it was/is the novelty of PP using a suspended rail type system, which a lot of the GP (including myself at times) back then hadn't ridden before. And it's built up it's "legendary status" since then. Personally I still enjoy (and will wait in line for) "Alice in Wonderland" as the best of the dark rides at DL, because it is so unique, from the vehicles, to how it starts and ends outside. I am still curious why a copy never went to WDW, etc. And I have no interest in a version of the Tim Burton AiW franchise. And yes, I totally agree on what one has to do nowadays, to go to any Disney park in the States. Too - much - pre-planning involved. It's too exhausting! And ... cell phones are usually needed, which we don't own. Lucky us, huh? (Pardon the detour into Peter Pan space, lol.)
  2. ^ .... and the pierogies!
  3. Today, I had one of the restaurant's specials which was a "Double Pepperoni" pizza, and I added mushrooms to it.. It - was - great! I would definitely order this pizza again. We got snow! And really low temps. which kept the snow around. Noted. Grey skies and "snowflakes" on the window! Double pepperoni with mushrooms. Gorgeous. ...... And I didn't even save a slice for David, HA!
  4. Well, it's nice to know, that when I finally get back to Knott's in a few years, a new coaster of some kind/make/model will be open by then.
  5. Knoebel's pierogies. A delicious non-ride.
  6. For myself, it's Wunderbar. Truth!

  8. Hello everybody! We are literally snowed in, for this holiday season. Something that is very rare around here in Vancouver. But so be it, it happens every few years or so. David and I are doing fine. Staying indoors a lot, and not going out, unless we absolutely have to. For food and (usual) medical appointments, lol.

Other than that, we hope that every one has a great New Year's! And that 2022 will be ultimately better than the previous two years.

    🎉

  9. Ha! I just found the pair of old pix I took, from the top of The Tower, in Sept.1975! With old fashioned camera, lol! Definitely shows that Skyride Station that you described. It's at the bottom of the left pic, and the restaurant is clearly there, over the monorail station. With a train leaving the station! And that dirt pile in the bottom of the right photo is where the Revolution was to go, for 1976. Pardon the Retro Side Bar.....
  10. ^ Ok, cool. But there was a restaurant of some kind up there, right?
  11. I seem to remember, that the "oriental themed" bldg. you were asking about ...used to be an Asian-style eating spot? Just my memory of .... I'm sure some one more local could tell you.
  12. ^ I thought Sierra Sidewinder was one of The Best Spinners I'd ever been on! (Of the spinners I have been on to this date). I think I rode it five times during our last visit in Sept.2019!
  13. ^ Wow. And yum. And drool. Yep, that sums it all up. Do your make notes about what pizzas you've created, for future repeating? I'm sure you do. Actually, your postings here kind of lists all that you use, heh. And .... can we hire you to produce a mess of pizzas for our 50th Anny in April? (ha ha - actually we couldn't afford all that you make - and those delivery charges - lol)
  14. I think I would actually like to be 'lost', wandering around that whole area... .... oh yeah right, ride the coaster, too! Gorgeous photos you took, especially those panoramic ones! And the nights shots are really lovely. Thanks for sharing all of the photos you took!
  15. With all the hoopla and stuff in the Disney parks, I love Knott's for (yes) it's GhostTown and general ambiance through-out the park. Much easier to deal with, than Disney, every time. And staying at the Knott's Hotel is an extra plus IMhO. Will always stay there in future trips. Another great TR of your visit!
  16. ^ Well, you can always visit W.Hollywood on your next visit, hmmm? Nice TR of the Santa Monica area.

  19. I bought special Holiday Scratch Tickets these past several weeks, collecting them to finally scratch them all, yesterday. And .... for the $80 (cdn) I spent on all of the tickets, I won $130 in cash.... and one free $1 ticket, lol. So I won back all the money I spent on them, and won $50 beyond that spent amount!
  20. I love chocolate and candy cane EGG NOG! Who knew?
