PETA uses KKK imagery at dog show protest
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to holidayworld08's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Its cool Herc...I've never heard of such a theory...but then again...people come up with some wacky stuff. The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics is a great organization to see what companies a person can support if they want products that don't test final or raw materials on animals: http://www.leapingbunny.org/indexcus.php -

Do a little more research and you will find that the FINAL products aren't tested, the raw materials are (which to me, its the same thing). Outside of Paul Mitchell, The Body Shop, and Kiss My Face...most cosmetic products in the US are tested. This was quite a few years ago that I did the paper...and PETA was the only organization that didn't return calls/e-mails. I was surprised throughout my college career of how many companies return phone calls/e-mails when the requests are properly written. -

^I agree. I cringe whenever I read something from PETA...I don't understand why they have to be so freaking stupid about things. It makes others that care for animals/vegetarians all seem like a bunch of nut jobs. Seriously, what have these people done other then put out posters on subways? On another note, I did a report on PETA in college and contacted them regarding some of my findings, in particular, some of there sponsors do laboratory testing on animals and they never returned my calls. Jerks. -
The Girls Next Door...cant get enough of that show!

I disagree. The industry has been waiting for "the next big thing" in water rides for 20 years! Parks moved away from water rides after everyone and their mother bought some combination of a log ride, chute-the-chute drop ride, and a rapids ride. And now with all those rides getting old and expensive to operate (plus the space they take up), with more and more being removed every year...the timing is perfect for a new wave of water rides. I hope not...at least the people that I know that don't like roller coasters will go on a log flume, rapids ride. If they take them out and replace them with a combo coaster/water ride, then there wouldn't be much for them to go on. That and I like the feeling of having just the family/group of friends on a log flume/rapids boat. You get to have the feeling of having a ride all to yourself.

Six Flags Season Pass Survey
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm...this questionnaire makes me question where is SF going with this. It sounds like the questions were probing...will you buy more stuff if you get points. I'm sure that the ratio of points you receive from buying crap merchandise will far outweigh the points you'll receive for just walking through the gates with your season pass. Although, I will be looking forward to getting a More Flags, More Fun pair of flip flops. -
I think that more importantly, machines will fail and accidents will happen...so it is more responsible for parks to train employees. Not to say that you are...but sometimes I wonder whether or not the ride ops would know what to do if someone got hurt. Its more of a maturity issue...most ride opps are rather young and if there is a true emergency, I couldn't imagine that they would know what to do. Unless the park trains them to do simple procedures and let a more senior member take it from there.

^Jeeze, sounds like your math teacher is about to have a nervous breakdown. I think most math teachers are a bit on the strange side....I used to have one in high school who was so OCD...he needed to have the desks in rows according to there color (and the blinds had to all be even with each other and the garbage can he was using had to not have any garbage)....so of course we would mess with him before he got there. Switched the desks around...messed with the blinds, put as much garbage as we can to fill up all the cans.

Pirates Hideaway in Casino Pier. They put you in a pirate boat shaped coaster car....inside of a pirate mural facade...you go inside the building and there is NOTHING pirate-themed...unless you consider a ladder and some rope lying around to be pirate-y. Its just sad...but then again...I guess it blends in with the rest of Seaside.

Can somebody tell me if my memory serves me correctly...Wasn't Mr. Six in the park just a person wearing a cheap rubber mask? I thought I remembered seeing a Mr. Six once at Great Adventure (or the mask at a Halloween Store)...and he was pretty scarey. If they can recruit some old people from a retirement community...feed them some coke...and have them parade around to the Venga Boys...now that wouldn't scare the kiddies.

I'm keeping my political views mum...BUT...Its the first day of this man's presidency and I cant stand people who are already saying he is on the same significance as Lincoln, Eisenhower, etc. All I have to say is...we will see. Lets hope that good things will happen to this country, above all, he is still a politician, regardless of skin color.

Park Pet Peeves
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is a really stupid pet peeve, but it really drives me NUTS when people that are standing behind me don't respect my personal space. An example of this is when you are standing on-line, the line hasn't moved up in front of you...however, for some reason the person/group behind you decide to move up. So you turn 5 feet of personal space into 5 inches....urg. -
I'm so bummed b/c I missed the episode of Magicians Greatest Secrets Reveled when they showed how this trick is done. Since this is a rant thread...I cant believe that they cancelled that show! I loved learning all those secrets.
