Obama or McCain or Beemerboy?

I'm not about to put in a rant give my opinion on who to vote for. My only suggestion for new voters is to make a list of what issues are important to you and see which candidate makes sense. Here is a pretty good site that might be helpful in making your decision based on the candidates voting record: www.issues2000.org/default.htm -
^Now your confusing me. My original point was that I think that SF should build in the surrounding areas b/c there is no place for a family to go (hotels, movies, mini-golf, etc). Then something was brought up to my attention about the answer isn't building hotels and activities for families to do around the park. I disagreed and illustrated that the places that have places for people to stay and make it a mini-vacation are the places that are more successful. Particularly b/c of the economy, people are taking day-cations....driving to a place where they can stay for a few days. My point is that if SF wants to increase there attendance...they have to make it worthwhile for a family. Especially if they are going to travel more then 2 hours to get to the park. Just an observation...thats all!

No, Six Flags must be doing something different because... So... if attendance declined 3% and they managed to get positive cash flow for the quarter, then there is something different going on... Ahhh...you did not read my comment correctly. First, the article continues on to say that SF was able to make up the difference b/c of the sponsorships they received. Second, my comment was in reference to the changes in park attendance going to themeparks....not what they were doing internally to cut costs or bring in $.

^^Thats actually opposite as to what I've been reading...people are taking their vacations, but staying at home and making small trips to parks, movies, etc. From people that I know/spoken to...that seems to be the climate in my neck of the woods. I don't know anybody (work, family, friends) that are taking big trips b/c of the price of flights.

Breakers Express hotel ?????
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Tammy S's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Breakers Express was a great hotel b/c of the place (I cant remember the name) that is next to it...I wouldn't want to stay there b/c it seems like a loud hotel. BUT there is a great little restaurant, bar, laser bowling, and an OTB. You can walk there from the hotel....and they have a HUGE beer "bong". -
^Right, but what I'm saying is that in order to get people into the gate...you have to expand your park into a "resort" destination. No matter how many smaller coasters you put into the park....if people aren't willing to travel a few hours with young kids in the car for a park that doesn't give them a variety other then the park. Whether SF does the development or not...they should give incentives to companies to build in the area b/c that would be what draws families in. CP and Disney does so well b/c they offer more for families to do other then go to the park (Downtown Disney, indoor water parks, nice hotels, restaurants, go-carts, arcades, etc).
-
^Hmm...I don't think we are on the same page. All I'm saying is that there is nothing to do in that area once you leave the park. Regarless of whether they develop the land themselves or not. Kinda like a how CP has hotels on its properties w/shuttle service or you can walk to the park/restaurants. And there are other things to do outside the park if you want to spend a few days relaxing w/family or if it rains.

First kiddie bribery?
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Beef209's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I used my nephew to try to get on the kiddie coaster in Seaside, NJ...the attendant said "no way" when I tried to use the whole "he is only a kid" plea. I guess it didn't help that my nephew isn't a small child...he is almost 12 years old. -
Its funny how Shaprio would like to make the parks more family friendly...but at least with Great Adventure...no matter how many family friendly rides you put in, the area surrounding the park isn't family friendly. If you want to go someplace other then the park there is no place to go in the afternoon that is close-by if you want to spend some time around the pool or go out to a nice meal. I don't know what other SF properties are like other then Great Adventure and Magic Mountain...but I didn't find either to be a place where I would like to spend more then a day there.

SFGAdv Fall Crowds?
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to ajinaz's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The earlier the better...I would suggest the first weekend you are there. -
Definitely, ask your HR manager (or your supervisor)...different companies have different procedures. You should be eligible BUT you are now a part-time employee, which usually means a different set of policies. Good Luck!

Photo Trip Report: Wal-Mart!
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Brandy524's topic in Random, Random, Random
You are hysterical! Who know that shopping at Wal Mart can be so...interesting? The comment about shopping without shoes on your kids feet and it being redneck-y almost got me in trouble at work for laughing out loud! I cannot wait to read your TR from parks. -
The Winnie the Pooh breakfast was a ton of fun for me and my brother and his wife (no children, mind you we are all in our late 20's). And to boot, the food is very good. When Tigger came to our table, nobody in my group has ever watched a Winnie the Pooh cartoon, so I wanted to know if Tigger is a boy or girl. When I asked Tigger he/she covered his/her "privet area" giggled and shrugged his/her shoulder.
