Expedition Everest Yeti Dead?
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't think the Yeti is too heavy for the pedestal. According to the modern marvels show on WDW...they said that the three components of EE are separate systems/structures that don't touch each other. Yeti is in a system onto itself (the coaster is anther system and the mountain is another)...and I would gather to think that they would make the pedestal sturdy enough to carry the weight. -
Meeting Dolly at Dollywood
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Teacups Make Me Sick's topic in Ask Alvey
^I'm shooting for early in the season....perhaps May"ish"...unless she tends to show up more regularly during the summer months. (I'm a huge fan and would just love the chance to see/meet her). -
Meeting Dolly at Dollywood
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Teacups Make Me Sick's topic in Ask Alvey
^Really? They made it sound on the Travel Channel that she often does shows and makes appearances....bummer...maybe I'll be lucky and she will make an unannounced appearance when I'm there! -
Hello. I'm planning a trip to Dollywood for this year. Since I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Parton...and would absolutely LOVE to get a chance to meet her.....I saw years ago on the Travel Channel that she makes appearances at DW. My question is, does she make regular scheduled appearances...if not, have you've been there when she made an appearance? Thanks!

Seeing this makes me sad that Great Adventure took out Freefall. I'm so bummed b/c that was one of my first "big-kid rides". -

Lakemont Park...it doesn't give you any info...and it doesn't tell ya if Leap the Dips is a working attraction. -

Haha! Sounds about right for someone living in the US. The land of you aren't accountable for your own stupidity! Matter of fact, you'll get rich because of it! -
I've just seen Robb and Elissa on TV!
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to mardy's topic in Random, Random, Random
I finished watching the DVD last night and I thought that was her. BTW---that DVD gives coaster geeks a bad name. There was some guy that put on goggles to go on Desperado. Seriously, could they pick out a nerdier guy? -

Sorry to bring up a rather old topic. But I just got Extreme Rollercoasters (2003) from Netflix and I thought I saw Robb talking about Goliath (SFMM). I wasn't sure if it was him b/c they didn't have his name "printed" on the bottom of the screen BUT, the person in question was wearing an awesome jean jacket w/ patches. I dont have a screen shot of the interview...but this is the cover of the DVD. -
^ Oh my god...they are horrible! (but really, really funny). Is it just me or did the first one not come up?

You can find that song (Good Enough) on Cyndi's Greatest Hits CD...I bought that CD just for that reason! -
Good luck on your interview...I'm not sure how things are done on the other side of the equator (I'm a recruiter at a staffing firm). But, I would suggest (since it is a long interview) to make sure you eat something before hand so you can keep a clear head. If you aren't sure about an answer, don't make one up...be honest and let them know what you would intuitively would think...but that you are a quick learner and will follow what is taught in training. A few things I always tell people that I'm sending out is: 1) Never write see resume on an application (shows that you might think your a bit of a primadonna/not detailed oriented). 2) Dress professionally, smile, and give a firm handshake when meeting your interviewer. 3) Come prepared with questions about the position and company (or the interviewer)...and never ask "me" questions (such as what is the pay? what are my hours? when do I take a brake?) 4) Sit up during an interview and listen to the questions the interviewer is asking...and most importantly, show enthusiasm about the position. 5) Make sure you get a business card (or some way of contacting the person) and send them a thank you note...if they have an e-mail address, that works just as fine. Make sure that the note is checked for spelling/grammar...and you add in something about thanking them for their time....and why you feel you would be the perfect fit. If you have any questions...please feel free to PM me. Good luck!

All Things "Twilight"
Teacups Make Me Sick replied to Teacups Make Me Sick's topic in Random, Random, Random
Someone else mentioned that there is a werewolf in books 2-4...he is actually one of the main characters. I'm not one to give into hype...I never liked the Harry Potter books (I got board halfway through reading book 1). But these books are really good...two co-workers got me into the books and they are nowhere near the demographics (lets just say that one woman has grandkids and the other is a mother of 2). Has anybody else seen the movie? I'm a little hesitant on seeing it b/c of the reviews...I don't want it to ruin my expectations. -

Wasn't that movie about a talking dragon?? I heard that the movies effects is what killed it. I guess sometimes things are better off left to the imagination. I heard that the movies special effects were done in a very cheesey way. Although, I don't think the book was really based on a vampire story, it was more of a love story. Therefore the focus should be on character development...but it would be nice for believability purposes to make the special effects seem real. ^Werewolves own? What does that mean? -
Wait one second...you saying that you are seeing someone young enough to still need foster parents??

Hello, I have to confess that I pooh-poohed the books when my co-workers where discussing this "great book about vampires". However, I finally caved in an read the first book, unbelievable...and now that I'm reading the second book, I can’t put it down. I wanted to start a topic on my newfound obsession and I wanted to know your thoughts on it/your reaction to the movie or books. Would you compare this series to the Harry Potter books? Also, what do you think about the characters...or if you are like me wondering what is going to happen to "Bella". Or do you like "Jacob" or "Edward" better for her.

I LOVE the awsomeness of the old school simulator that can only been seen in a really ghetto fair. I don't know what the name of it is...so if somebody can help me out with the name...but it looks like it was built in 1962...it is in the shape of a rocketship and if you are too tall (like me) your head blocks some of the projection. It is so loud when it moves that it like totally kills the atmosphere (not like it had any).

It stunk. Daniel Craig is HOOOOTTTTT…and he looks good in a suite. There were too many continuity issues that I couldn’t get past to enjoy the movie.
