  1. Did you guys ride the seatless falling star & pirate ship?? They look...interesting? The clowns hitting children is great...priceless really. I wish they would have something like that in the US. The best is the bumper cars, if you don't get injured by a head on collision...you might bump up your chances of getting cancer from inhaling that much smoke.
  2. ^Ditto...I love the how people in the article are commenting that there have been other coaster related deaths. BTW---How freaking close were the two attractions? It looks like they were 2 feet apart.
  3. What an INSANE place! In the farmer ride, are those real chickens under the barn centerpiece? That is just awesome, something you would NEVER find in the US.
  4. I agree with the SooperDooperLooper...maybe I'm just partial to it b/c it was my first looping coaster, but its a classic and awesome ride.
  5. ^Somebody just told me that her teenage daughter will run 2K/yr. Thats with good grades and the drivers ed credit. In a nutshell: Jersey stinks. Spinning hubcaps are so much sweeter.
  6. And those annoying tin cans people stick on there muffler...that really makes a car head into ludicrious speed.
  7. Big Mike...Funny report (as always). I couldn't decide that you keeping the free porn cards advertising "Ladies of the Night" creepy or funny. On a side note, I was on a quest to meet someone who actually called one of those cards, he told me that what you get are nowhere near what is advertised (in a very bad way).
  8. Hello. I was under the impression that a carousel only has horses and a merry-go-round has a mixture of animals. However, internet searches come up with different answers....I don't believe most things that are posted on wikipedia. Is this question like the jimmies vs sprinkles debate? So I ask the trusted source of TPR to help me understand this mystery...are these nouns interchangeable? Thank you.
  9. "Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a rollercoaster?"
  10. I love the first drop... My idea of a coaster of my dream would involve a first drop to be almost of drop tower, where you are facing forward (like a drop tower). The rest of the ride is more like a pillow-y flight where the trains have a suspension and when it goes over bunny hills, the train over exaggerates the drops/hills on the track. Almost simulating a moon walk, but more funner (if that is even such a word).
  11. My favorite is that airlines charge a LANDING FEE!!! WTF is that? Isnt that part of the service?
  12. It cracks me up that there are not one, but two skyride-type rides in Gatlinburg...I could see if you are on a high peak looking down or seeing the Smokey Mountains 'as far as the eye can see'...however, the town isnt really much to look at...a couple hotels, gas stations. I really dont get the draw.
  13. ^I'll take your white flag and stop on it!!!! If you wanted to get anal, you could calculate your wattage (which you can find somewhere in the product literature) x price per wattage x amount of usage and you can figure out what your bill will be. Now...about those lockers....
  14. (I just love splitting hairs) You really *couldn't* use that as an example because when you sign up for service you agreing on being billed for future electrical usage and not being billed on the last guys consumption.
  15. ^^Not the same thing. You cant charge someone for something that happened in the past. Besides, I think people have a problem with it...its just that there are bigger things then a 5 dollar convenience charge. Like making someone pay for a locker.
  16. I have to agree with the people on this board saying that it isnt that big of a deal. I could see charging 10 buck per person something to complain over...but think of it this way, when you do any travel online (or booking at a travel agency for that matter)...there are A TON of fees associated, with planes, hotels, and various attractions. I hate when I look at a trip, go through the steps to see how much the trip will really cost me...and it is usually a couple hundred dollars off.
  17. If you are still in Vegas, you should really check out the Cuban Restaurant in the Holiday Inn...I dunno what the name of it is...but the locals are pretty familiar (I just jump in a taxi and they take me there). My family is Cuban and they rate it as one of the best Cuban restaurants out there. (order shredded pork and plantanos maduros....I don’t eat meat, but the plantanos are excellent).
  18. My father has worked in the pharma industry (he is super smart about disease/bacteria/and medications) for 30+ years...his professional advice he gave to me to relay to my boyfriend (who works in NYC): "If somebody sneezes....RUN!" He is a funny guy. But all seriousness, if you get ill, quickly go see a doctor to get tested for the bug. It seems like it is really spreading in NYC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30453688
  19. Very funny TR! The Segway racing is awesome!!! Did you go on it? How much did they charge? Did anybody bump into each other??
  20. ^Well....I can agree with the waterpark on charging parents to take infants into the water. Just as if you are to go to a theme park and only want to observe/be with the family. My mother never goes on any ride when we go to an amusement park, but she still has to pay full price to be there.
  21. ^They don't need an announced photo shoot to do that...they are very aware of when the president is flying. Which is why the government flys dummy Boeings.
  22. Wouldn't you think that the US Government should have warn people of this photo opp(???): http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/04/lowflying_planes_near_statue_o.html
  23. I think it is great that the park is going to be doing charitable work...especially since they haven't even been open a season to see if they will turn out a profit before they give away the store. Does anybody else find it interesting that the original concept of the park is sex, drugs, and rock and roll...now it Wiggles World and Barney?
