  1. ^^My work computer stinks at uploading videos (I guess they don't deem getting a faster connection necessary to actually do my work). However, I have watched programs on how octopuses are able to travel out of there aquariums, onto dry land, in order to locate food in either another aquarium or whatever is lying about. They also have the ability to control colors that they change into (usually it is an involuntary movement). Fascinating creatures.
  2. From Pianojohn's Photo TR: Sorry this is a late comment, but since I think octopus’s are the coolest of the invertebrates....I thought you might enjoy learning a little more on them: news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/02/090227-octopus-mischief.html
  3. Great report! So...this makes me wonder, would if Cedar Point redid and operated Bizarro would it have to close the ride down due to the misting machines?
  4. Wow! Quite the adversarial tone to start off a thread with. Sounds like you have quite a chip on your shoulder and with vague statements like: You dont have a very good argument....what bad image do they project? Who said that they have such a bad image?
  5. Perhaps that is CF's theme...they could have gotten their inspiration from Staten Island: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresh_Kills_Landfill.
  6. So...you cant have an account? Why not? Did you not pay a buyer, bad ratings? Neither of these things would make a stranger feel comfortable in purchasing something for you.
  7. Well, thats just stupid. What is FMP supposed to do with the existing theme that HRP built? Yes, it looks like you are in a music themed park but we are calling it Tropical Land/Jungle Land (or something generic like that).
  8. I've been reading the title of this thread thinking it said my big fat greek wedding....missing this wonderful story. I love the fact that you guys got married after 13 years of being together. Enjoy the rest of your lives together, you guys look so happy to finally be able to show a the commitment (of promising to be together until death do you part) towards each other. Did you guys have a reception/party afterwards? What rides did you go on first?
  9. No...but he does say..."hey guys look at me! Great Adventure sent me a free get in front of the line pass" (while everyone else who has already visited Great Adventure didn't get bubkis).
  10. Keep your head held high...you are going through a tremendous ordeal. Plan your 22nd to be a b*lls to the wall celebration.
  11. Larry, this is all a plot to butter you up since they know that you are adding photos and such for the TPR Index. They want you to love Great Adventure and make that section the largest of all the parks! That must be it since I have been to the park twice and even took one of those surveys.
  12. ^Or the person behind that gets hit in the face when a mask, paperbag, cell phone, or whatever else people think they can hold onto while on a ride. I'm surprised the park allows such a thing. People should have straps on there glasses and certainly shouldn't be wearing paperbags on there head. I rememeber sitting in the backrow on Kingda Ka and some jerk a few rows ahead of me lifts his hand up with his cell phone in his hand (of course trying to take a POV shot)....I yelled at him to put his cell phone away NOW (along with some profanities). Luckily, the kid didn't fight with me on it and put his phone away. Smart move.
  13. ^I swear on my life. I'm almost tempted to buy it....my mom works there and she had no idea what it meant and she told me the dept manager will definitely not know what it means.
  14. That is just mean, I'm going to call PETA on them!! Did you use the flashlight to try and find them? Its kinda silly b/c unless they actually have a nocturnal set up (they are housed in a light controlled encloser, and the zoo artificially switches there day/night), they will not come out of the nook they are sleeping in. I know this from volunteering at a zoo and we had flying squirrels they didn't come out for anything (food, water, etc) and when you took them out, they immediately ran into your shirt/pocket.
  15. I cant believe they sell this t-shirt at a Lord & Taylor (for those who dont know the store...it is supposed to be an upscale department store).
  16. Oh my god, I wish houses started at 70 grand in Jersey, I would be a homeowner at a young age as well. Renting sucks, and in this area the amount it is costing to rent is close to a mortgage payment (w a decent down payment). I just moved into a SHOEBOX (no lie, it is a 1 bedroom 7 ft wide shoebox)...I looked for an apartment that isn't in the boonies for months b/c my last rent was going up to 1k (heat and hot water was included...no other amenities). The owner rented it out for a steal...875/month (no utilities). Since the economy has taken a hit, people are being bastards with renting out crappy apartments for AT LEAST 1000/month...for a 1 bedroom!!!
  17. ToT isn't like Stuntmans Freefall...the drop(s) are so mild that you only need a seat bealt. It isn't one massive drop (just little drops), but you do get the stomach in mouth feeling.
  18. I thought the same thing when I read that the thread was closed (harsh, not d*ckish, it is annoying that people don't know how to spell check, but not to lambast the kid for being careless). However, when I first read the thread...my first impressions is that the thread was going to be closed anyway due to some b*tch feast that was almost impossible to avoid w such a negative topic.
  19. ^I think that the airtime is overlooked by the fact that your leg gets crushed by the lapbar.
  20. Thank you for posting those pictures. I find it interesting how you seem to love theme parks....you're posting a report on a theme park site....but yet are too afraid to ride the big rides? You have to go on ToT!!!! There is nothing to be scared about (I swear).
  21. Eh-hem...when I went to Cedar Point a few years ago (which is when I would consider myself a "GP")...me and my brother (whom is also GP) HATED that ride and would never go on that again...it hurt my lady parts and his man parts. BTW-Can somebody post a picture of the sign up? The link is blocked from my work computer....thanks!
  22. God Grew Tired of Us is a documentary about men who left Sudan (due to the war in the 80's, they went on several pilgrimages after) and were transplanted to the US. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT FILM. It is amazing to see these men cope with living life in a completely different world, they never had running water, electricity, etc. The most powerful story was John's...he seemed to have the best head on his shoulder (he was one of the oldest) and his story will absolutely break your heart and make you thankful for what you have. You can rent this on netflix...Please, go and see it if you haven't already.
  23. I wonder if they only showed the Time Machine because that is one of the few rides that they didnt need to re-vamp (except for the Zepplin which isnt shown on the commercial) and were therefore able to shoot a commercial for it a few months ago. Giving them time to do the post production work/aquire air time/etc.
  24. That would be a much better photo if your friend was also wearing a princess dress.
