  1. ^My thoughts, exactly.
  2. Premier is one of my favorite coaster companies because of their innovations and creative coaster layouts, so it has always puzzled me why they designed Maximum RPM with a cool lift and first drop, followed by the most bland layout of nearly any coaster anywhere.
  3. ^Yes, an ARM drop tower would be a perfect fit for the new Valentine's Day area!
  4. The problem with this addition is that a super loop has been coming to the park with the Kentucky State Fair for at least the past 20 years. I wish they had gone with something else, but ah well.
  5. The Ferris wheel concept is actually pictured in an old roller coaster book I have. Except on a wooden track!
  6. ^I'm going to have to disagree with you here. I also only see a belt connecting the two vehicles (halfway around the track).
  7. Souvenir bottles are now $27 + tax a piece?! Plus $10+ a visit in lockerrs! Lol. Just...wow.
  8. Here we go... http://www.engineeringexcitement.com/product/family-inverted-coaster/
  9. Great news! The world needs more Premier coasters.
  10. Thank you so much for sharing this. This makes my heart so so happy.
  11. The whole "doesn't make marketing sense" argument doesn't make sense to me. Everyone who has studied marketing is familiar with the concept of Hedonic Editing. Basically, people/firms integrate losses and segregate gains. Therefore, in regards to marketing, it makes much more sense to make two separate announcements (with the smaller one coming first) than it does to integrate two big additions into one announcement. On the other hand, a very reliable source told me that the park is finished making announcements for next season... Still, I'm team 2017.
  12. ^^Exactly. I just don't see the market for this.
  13. Yep. It does sound ridiculous...but it keeps maintenance from sitting around and eating extra ham sandwiches/flirting with cute ride ops when there are rides to fix. I know that Millennium Force does not have any kind of "block has been occupied too long" fault. But it is strange that many coasters allow operators/maintenance to clear blocks single-handedly from the control booth. I believe all Arrow coasters require simultaneous action from controls and on-location to clear a block.
  14. I definitely read the name of the coaster to be Construction 18, too. I mean, Cedar Fair named their coasters Flight Deck and Backlot Stunt Coaster...this isn't that much more of a stretch.
  15. ^True. Regardless, 200k more "guests" still means a huge bump in revenue. Good for them! This park is really coming together.
  16. Eh...I don't really "get it"...
  17. But the lift hill also burned down during construction.
  18. What do I expect from a hotel? Well, I can tell you that I get pretty much everything I "expect" from a hotel stay, when I stay in a $50 - $60 hotel. So, no, I don't think charging $500 more than that just because you can, is really defensible from the "What do you expect?" perspective. "It's a resort hotel", provides a little more justification, but for going to Cedar Point, that's just never going to cut it with me... Maybe if Cedar Point was in the Bahamas, but otherwise... Preach, brotha.
  19. Are there any local grocery stores, restaurants, etc. that offer Lagoon discounts?
  20. ^Unless the downtime is somehow foreseen, there would be no way to get a whole crew in an hour earlier than scheduled to open another ride.
  21. I've always been terrified of Ferris Wheels because of incidents like this. It just seems like every time a carriage flips over an a wheel, the people inside fall out. Have there been any reported incidents of this kind of thing happening where the riders held on and didn't fall to the ground? (Serious question.)
  22. If this doesn't put Vekoma back in the game, I don't know what will. What's the price tag on this thing?
