You speak the truth. However, I'm about to change your life forever. Next time you ride Zumanjaro (or any drop tower), once you reach the top, tilt your head down to your crotch, close your eyes, and don't open them until you're back on the ground. You'll never ride a drop tower any other way again. My only request is that you forever refer to it as: The DBru Method.

Energylandia Park Discussion Thread

It's fun seeing small parks expand like this...but those Intamin water coasters are probably the ugliest modern rides in existence, and if Pilgrims Plunge was any indication, total snoozefests as well. -

I laughed really hard at this because I thought it was a joke. Then I laughed even harder because I realized it wasn't. Ohhhh the days of waiting for the Voyage to finally run with Timberliners...good times. -
...I still don't get it.

Absolutely fantastic simile. I can't get over it! -

This I can totally get behind! People have different opinions and different things they enjoy. And that's awesome! This is the kind of statement I have a problem with. No one is being "nearly thrown off" of Cedar Downs. Come on now. -

^I feel the same way! I think Cedar Downs is a beautiful classic ride, but I feel like the way people are talking about it here is...misleading, to say the least. -

Gotta head out toward Lexington/Frankfort (aka horse country) for the great distillery tours! Anyway, awesome trip report. It's great seeing how far this park has come in a few years. Even when Storm Chaser opened last year the park was riddled with uneven footpaths, unfinished landscaping, and lots of dead ends. It appears most of that has been addressed since then! Can't wait to see what they announce for 2018. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

People bemoan that Holiday World is losing its original charm and then complain that they don't sell alcohol or fastpasses. Interesting... -

Park ops also have to keep in mind that if the wind is getting increasingly stronger and taking the ride down is inevitable, it's better to do it sooner than later because they will have to cycle empty trains to get empty. -

I feel like lapbars on Mystery Mine would result in a lot of busted faces. That first vertical drop, ya know? -

Cliffhanger (Red Devil) at Ghost Town in the Sky belonged in that category as well. -
Let me ask this another way--do you think there's a correlation between liking roller coasters and "being weird?" Think about it. In general, are people who LOVE sports weird? Nah. Tons of people love sports. How about people who LOVE cars? Not really. But if you have attended a coaster event, you probably found yourself thinking, "Hm. A lot of these people are quite...different." I'll admit it, there are things about me that are pretty darn weird, and I've been obsessed with roller coasters since age 4. I know this might be a tad to philosophical, and maybe kind of offensive, but I've genuinely been considering this question for a long time. Is there something that draws weird people to being roller coaster enthusiasts? What are your thoughts?

Venus looks like a phenomenal, unique coaster, so I hope it gets picked up. Titan's layout, from POV's, looks incredibly bland. Is it even considered to be a good coaster (worth saving)? -

Wow, this place is beautiful and seems absolutely massive from the pictures. Is their jet pack version of the Astro Orbiter a bit more of a thrill ride or is it basically the same experience? -
