Which Coaster Gives The Best AIRTIME???
DBru replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^I get airtime on T2 every time I get on it! To bad I would rather chop my balls off than ride it twice in the same day..... -
Why did they do that?
DBru replied to Fallen Heretic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Okay, first of all, why is B&M the only company that can make coasters butter smooth even with OTSR's? Why does Kings Island turn on some of the lights in the Flight of Fear building? It would be so much better completely dark! Also, why is the MCBR used so heavily? It KILLS the rest of the ride! Why do amusement parks close rides before the park closes, and not put out signs stating what time the coasters will actually close? Why is Tennessee Tornado so smooth compared to other Arrows? Why does Cedar Point close every coaster in the park down after a sprinkle of rain that lasts for only a few seconds and then test the ride 20 times before reopening it? Why does Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom not make it so that Thunder Run can run two trains? Why does Holiday World not run at full capacity on days when the park is packed? Why does Cedar Fair name most of there rides using "Hawk" in them? And why is Jessica Alba so freakin hot?????? I think that's about it.... -
The Beast going into the helix gets me everytime. Also, the Legend's second tunnel right after a large airtime hill.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
DBru replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've found the second to last seat on The Beast isn't too bad. It's just those wheel seats that will murder you. Some of my friends made that mistake this summer....... -
I like Mystery Mine's cars at Dollywood. IMO, they're comfortable and look impressive, too!

Could a Track Jumping Coaster Be Possible?
DBru replied to Ccron10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think they should spend more time developing "invisible paint"! Imagine the possibilities!!!!! -
I love Magnum, but it was jackhammering all along the course this season.....
-
The last time I rode Gwazi was in 2004, and it wasn't to bad then, in my opinion that is. Thunderhead has aged very well, you can barely tell any difference from opening day.....

I know that many don't like it, but my favorite Arrow is Corkscrew at CP. The airtime in the back off the first two drops is amazing! But behind that is Tennessee Tornado. Defenitely one of the best drops you will find on a coaster, and some very strange twists and turns. Is TT the only Arrow with a loop that isn't the same size as the "cookie-cutter" loops you will find on Vortex, Viper, Demon, ect? Also, was Drachen Fire the only Arrow mega looper without a vertical loop?

Holiday World Help
DBru replied to masterofthematrix91's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Tickets this season are $37.99 so I would guess they will be around $40 next year. Ride Voyage first thing, then go to Splashin' Safari as soon as it opens. Ride Bakuli, then Zinga, the Zoombabwe, in that order. Jungle Racers always has a small line, so there is no need to rush onto it. Around 2:30, head up to the "dry" park, and do the coasters until closing. Avoid riding the Raven and Legend in the mornings, for the lines will be HUGE, but they will defenitely go down in the afternoon. Holiday World has very fast and friendly staff. The food is great and pretty low priced. Also, take advantage of the free soft drinks and free sunscreen! Holiday World has free parking, too. All in all, Holiday World is pure awesomeness! Just go and have fun. You will NOT be dissapointed! Oh, and if you haven't noticed, HW is one of my home parks.... -
Six Flags America Accident
DBru replied to piggy4891's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A few weeks ago I asked my friends if they would rather go to SFKK or Holiday World and one replied with, "Holiday World, because I actually want to keep my feet...." I HATE it when people say things like that over a freak accident that could have happened anywhere! -
Well we just got back and I'd like to thank everyone for your help! The park was nearly empty, except for the 1 1/2 hour wait to get into Nightmare, Inc (the only haunted attraction they had) which costs a $3 upcharge. The skycoaster was amazing, I had never done one before and it scared the crap out of me! We rode every coaster multiple times, including 8 rides without getting off on Chang. No coaster had over a 10 minute line all day. Every ride was running (excluding Superman Tower of Power, obviously, and the pink side of Twisted Twins) and the staff were very friendly. They were really involved with the crowd. For some reason, they were only letting 12 people at a time on the Rainbow, does anyone know why? Something just didn't feel right..... Chang was the only coaster that ran 2 trains. T2's second train was on the transfer track with all of the restraints open. Greased Lightnin' is stilled being braked heavily, but not as hard as it was last year and earlier this year.Oh, and I LOVE the Elvira movie that is being show during Fright Fest, easily my second favorite video on that type of ride, Spongebob 3-D being my favorite. They had a 2-dollar special going on for all drinks, which is pretty good considering it is usually $3.50. Thunder Run and Twisted Twins both need some work, but are still pretty good. Thunder Run still has the AMAZING airtime it always did, and TT's first drop in the back still yanks you out of your seat. I noticed though that you can see the cars shuffling side to side as you maneuver the track. There was plenty of smoke along the midway as it got dark, but we stayed till closing and saw no costumed characters at all.....Oh well. We had a great time and I will be back next year! It's been a great coaster season!

Brave Six Flags Birds Get the Worms

I saw some person do it last night at SFKK, they didn't make it the full 60 seconds. Haha..... -

But they could also crawl up your nose or down your pants! -
Thanks for all the info. I have a Six Flags season pass and just discovered a "Bring-a-Friend" free coupon as well as a "ride the sky coaster for $10. So I am pretty excited about that. Also, do haunted costumed characters come out when it gets dark and walk around the park? The only time I have ever been to Fright Fest (at SFKK) was many years ago and my parents took me home before dark because I was still really young.

Most thrilling drop?
DBru replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Vekoma Flying Dutchmans! The moment you flip over and drop gives me that butterfly feeling in my stomach every time! -
My friends and I are heading to the park this Saturday and I have a few questions....... 1.) How much does each haunted house/attraction usually cost? 2.) Are lines usually long at the park during Fright Fest? 3.) 2 of us are wanting to ride the "Sky Coaster", does anyone know how much it is per person? Thanks for the help!

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
DBru replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at Holiday World the other day and two boys in line infront of me at the Legend were discussing the ride..... Kid 1- So does this go upside down? Kid 2- Yeah, but only twice. You can't see because you're in a tunnel. Kid 1- Ohhhh.....
