  1. One of the many great things about this board is that you get to learn about other parks/attractions on the planet, not just the ones in your home country. Cool to hear about these slides and the ones in London. Glad you shared this, as I learned something new today.
  2. I was greatful for that advice and it came at the right time. Hang in there and thanks.
  3. Loved the "we're all going to..." then the Hadies (sp?) sign. That was just great! Hey man, thanks for sharing all these pics. As for the craziness at work and the personal life, a wise man once said to me, "Easy big guy. Take a deep breath, chill out, have a beer or whatever." Good advice eh?
  4. Yeah, it really was a teaser in that it gave away very little. Man it's gonna be a looooooong time to next summer, but I'm now officially on the fan bandwagon for this series. It's tough, because I do like the 80's and 90's series, and keep making unintentional comparisons. But so far, this series does stand on it's own merrit and that's no joke. A 4. I do not blow up.
  5. During our trip to WDW, I think it was Norway that had a great smoked meat and cheese meal or buffet somewhere. Also, anybody like those BonBell and BabyBell mini cheeses? They taste better after you take the wax off of course...
  6. Spooky, you're ok in my book. Well said.
  7. So MM is spending 10 million dollars ($10,000,000) on a tunnel, some lights, and redesigned trains... 1. Are they using the Military Budgeting playbook ($35,000 for a toilet seat, $50,000 for a hammer, etc...)? 2. 5th dimension? So people are going to smell stuff during the ride like the 4d (so last dimensional) theatres? Who thinks it'll be burnt money and poo? 3. I'm SO in the WRONG line of work! "Sure, I can put a tunnel in, but that'll cost 8 million. Luckily, we're having a special this week on proton charging and so that only run you 2 million..." Not impressed. A 3. They do not blow up.
  8. Ryan, Here are a couple links to guys who collect maps. They might have some of what you're looking for. http://www.fortunecity.com/marina/foreshore/161/maps.html http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/ Hope these help some.
  9. ok, my 2 cents: There've been a lot of casting/movie choices that at first sounded bad from the start, but ended up pretty good. 1980's Batman - Michael Keaton_Mr. Mom as Batman?!? Turned out pretty well. Spiderman 2: Alfred Molina over Sam Neal (Jurassic Park). Are they kidding? Molina did a great job and was a balanced bad guy. Not crazy over the top, not forgettable either. Batman Begins Movie - Great. This will be a crappy backstory/re-telling. Ended up being a good, substantial, entertaining movie. Well done. Batman The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger as Joker. Huh? The man is talented, but tough to see him in that role and I'm biased towards Nicholson's Joker. Maybe Ledger will redefine the role and make it his own like Bale did with Bruce Wayne. To sume up, the WTF's have come out pretty good. Maybe Ledger's Joker will too. Looking forward to seeing the movie and also happy about The Penguin possibly showing up. Makes you wonder how Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and some of the other villians will be woven into this storyline verses the 80's and 90's movies. Lastly, as bad as it was, I enjoyed mecha-Ahnold delivering inspired lines like "Everybody...CHILL!"
  10. That's a great idea! Thank you for a good tip Soren.
  11. Glad they got FB up and running a bit for your trip. PA looks like a fun place and it's rapids ride could teach some of the US rapids rides a thing or two. Yeah, I'm lookin' at you Mild River Gorge. Good TR and thanks for sharing!
  12. You know, I'd drive one just because they're different . Seriously. Customizing one would be fun. Hey, mini cars (and mini coasters) are just fun.
  13. LOL! Well said. Hmmm....New subgroup of park AND cheese enthusiasts? Pinball enthusiasts too! This could be fun on a future trip (big grin).
  14. No more random thought of the day? Bummer. I seem to have a knack for killing off topic threads.
  15. Lou, we've never met, but you got my vote. Will, you're 2 fer 2 on cool concepts. TPR Land was great and now this. Don't worry, I don't have Sims 2 and won't steal your thunder. Keep up the good work.
  16. ...reaching for dice.... No, my spelling is bad and I was tired when I posted that. And there's a dictionary on the shelf less than 10 feet away. How lazy is that? In 92 or 93, our family was out in California at Fashion Island and there was a market down in the bottom of one of the buildings. I remember being really impressed by all the different foods, hanging sausage, and big wheels of cheese (which I'd NEVER seen before). The market was gone last year when we went. Also topic related, there is a website somewhere that has webcams set up so you can watch cheese age. No kidding.
  17. 20/25. Wow! I actually have some idea of what I'm talking about...
  18. Hey man, another great TR. The new camera does well, particularly with the panaramas. Thanks too for the Smokey Mountain River Rampage shot. Hope to be in that area for a spring break trip this next year.
  19. This is a brilliant random topic! My faves are (excuse the bad spelling): *Havarti Dill *American *Mild Cheddar *Beer Cheese *That wine cheese spread thing, sniglet, whatever *Munster *That seasoned Motzerella Love getting a few different types, some townhouse crackers, pepperoni slices, and maybe som hillshire farm smoked sausage for a fun meat and cheese tray. Goes great as a lazy dinner or movie snack tray. One night while buying some of the above at Walmart, my girlfriend and I were told "Ya'll have class." by the cashier. We looked at each other confused and then thanked her. Then we cracked up in the parking lot. Wierd situation, but a nice compliment just the same.
  20. I too missed seeing DV this summer. Had planned on going to SFoG, but never got back around to doing so in the cooler weather. Had hoped to get video and stills for future stuff. One a side note, I built DV in RCT3, but reproducing the criss-cross part came out fugly. Was close, but didn't really honor the original. I call it Deja Ew. Well, next year this area will be much different. Kinda wierdly curious about Thomas Town and the enigmatic Mr. Topum Hat.
  21. It's a soggy dream com true!!
  22. Always wanted to see one of these shows. The music is supposed to be really good and funny. Do they still have the random tubes going from the dressing rooms to the audience? Friend of mine went once and said sometimes the guys will talk to you while they're suiting up or just say "hello" to catch you off guard. Thanks for posting these.
  23. Damn you! I just had that song stuck in my head during my trip and now you bring it back! Why?!?!? Those Dothan nuts sent you didn't they? They're everywhere! LOL! Kidding aside, your timing is hilarious! Yes, big sense of humor. No I haven't had a cat scan lately.
  24. Hey Wes, sorry if Wolfie's post riled you. Just found out about it myself. Seems his heart's in the right place, just missed the mark a little. If it helps, several of us are trying to be more careful on what and how we post.
  25. I voted for Papa Smurf. No, really.... TPR of course. R&E have a good thing here.
