  1. Those are great! So glad you posted them.
  2. Better than a perfect 10....hmmm Got it! A Spinal Tap themed coaster. The lift hill goes up to infinity......and beyond. That would be sweet. Whatever they do, don't lose the rapids ride. If they do, I'll be like baker's chocolate, bitter. (2 snares and a cymbol fall off a cliff).
  3. Uh-oh! KidTums just cut my credit lead on her in half! Hey congrats kiddo. I'm happy for you and your parents. That's a great way to start out a lifelong family tradition and you'll treasure the pics and video of it many years from now. That first drop was just insanity! Almost lost my applesauce.
  4. Wow! There's a lot of coasters and rides in that space! I enjoyed your TR, especially the Revolution and Avalanche pics. Glad to see a launched shuttle coaster still operating. Infusion looks pretty cool too. Glad you shared these pics. Thanks you.
  5. I saw a video last night of WDW HM that was recorded with binaurel sound. It was pretty impressive. Was neat how they moved the turning marble busts to the shelves in a library scene. Seemed like they changed the wallpaper in the stretching room. Also seemed like they added more ghosts during the dining scene, especially near the pipe organ. There was other small stuff I noticed, but agreed, it was a worthwhile update. For grins, anybody have a pic of the infamous vibrating spiders? I vaguely remember them but would like to see them again for comparison.
  6. I was kidding you a bit because I used the same ending to my recent trip report and also thought the saying was relegated to the deep south. Now that I see you were going with a general "down home country" feel to your TR, it makes more sense, regardless of geographic region. Just didn't expect a small town feel in California. So, you have taught me something new here. Either way, glad to see it was just good fun and that they were so nice to the kids. Hopefully, that culture never disappears, as it's needed more than ever these days.
  7. Alright!! Rapids and Bobsleds! It's now officially a great TR. I kid, I kid, it's great TR irrespective of rapids and bobsleds...but they don't hurt. Thanks for sharing.
  8. We all agree that these models are really great and definately worth owning. In fairness, we all have budgets of some sort to work with and, in some cases, even a couple dollars difference can decide yes or no on a product. By choosing "no" regarding a higher price, no-one is slighting the product or saying it's inferior whatsoever, especially after special preview such as this. I'm on a tight budget, and when I want something, it becomes a trade-off. I can get this new dvd box for $60 or, that's park admission, and parking fees covered on my next trip. Hopefully this gently clarifies things.
  9. Hmmm....now where have I heard THAT before...and in California?? Kidding aside, looked like a fun fair and just an old fashioned good time. Glad to see that atmosphere still around.
  10. Alabama Adventure had stuffed octopuses (sp?) in the main street gift shop. Thankfully, I'm also full fledged octopus enthusiast, so it was ok.
  11. When I went to Virginia in May, I was happy to go to BGE, but bummed on missing out on KD. Granted, I'll have to go soon and see, but from the scuttlebutt, it sounds like I didn't miss much at KD. From the reports, etc. here on the forum, KI isn't looking so hot either. Big hairy shame. I grew up with those parks. Edit: (chuckling) My avatar is a pic with Hanna Barbera's Jabber Jaw my parents took on my first visit to KI in 1985. He took my hat and wouldn't give it back. I threatened to go in there with a crow bar to get it and out popped the hat. Funny, but a rude thing for a kid to say. Can only imagine what the furry-op thought of me. Eh, well, I've mellowed...a little.
  12. You're soooooo right! I saw today on a trip report that the wing of the Contemporary Resort where I stayed with my family during a trip in high school (1992), was demolished in January and a new wing is being built! Lotsa changes since the last trip. World of Motion, Living Seas, MGM Studios, Hard Rock Cafe at Universal, Back To The Future, Nick Studios, Horizons, Wonders of Life, Pirates of the Carribean, etc...have changed radically or been taking out. Even this Haunted Mansion rennovation is a bit unnerving despite it's cool factor. Even so, things must, and do, change in time. A little sad, yes.
  13. Looks like a tie between WillMontu with the TPR sig, and MR. GRINCH and Jokers Jinx. Ahhhh, such a supportive and well structured group to post such solid pics.
  14. I'm forever scarred. That's just it. Statue.....credits.......EVERYwhere.....AHHHHHHHHHHH! This has got to be one of most warped trip reports I've ever seen...and it's awesome! Great job man!
  15. I heard TTD was good, but to scare the piss outta somebody who's building it?! It's gotta be AMAZING!
  16. Some coaster going over Roman Rapids. Apone's Chairlift or something. It's a steel carrot....like this ^. See? Cool huh? I kid! I kid! Apollo's Chariot is a cool coaster. Don't send the Hummel Boy after me.
  17. Yeah, we're good man. I took it in a humerous, Seinfeld kinda way. Besides, stuff can be over used sometimes.
  18. Slightly to the side of this topic, somebody mentioned they like stand-ups. I do too, particularly some of the older variety (King Cobra, Extremeroller, Rail Blazer, Shockwave). The newer Intamins and B&Ms are ok, I just tend toward more what I grew up with as a kid. Back on topic, floorless is cool, but it's a gimmick to me in that BGA ran the whole "Sheikra Goes Floorless" deal to keep from getting upstaged by Griffon which also had a major selling point of being floorless. Now, gimmick or not, after seeing Griffon and what it could do, I was impressed and didn't really think that much about it being sands floor. Guess you could say I was floored...(2 snares and a cymbol fall off a cliff) I think somebody else said something like "if it's a good ride, who cares?". Agree with that the most.
  19. Ahhh....I smell the sarcasm. Just havin a wee bit o fun. Hope the night isn't ruined, eh?
  20. Aquatrax! I called it!
  21. Best: The crowd-clearing and shoe ruining downpour at BGE that freed-up Roman Rapids for a friend and I to ride 4 times in a row with no wait. We got even more drenched and had to by flip-flops. Worst: Embarrassing Opryland Story Was really hot and didn't get very wet on Grizzly River Rampage, so the girlfriend and I decided to walk over to Old Mill Scream (chute the chutes). Got the brilliant idea of standing on the bridge that crosses the ride channel. Stood at the extreme left end where there's a deck that sticks out further than the rest of the bridge. "This is gonna be great! I'm gonna get sooooo wet! Yay!" I thought. Boat came down, wall of water came up...and smacked me right in the crotch, hard. I fell over and was seeing stars. The girlfriend comes running up to see if I'm ok, then helps me up. Now, my crotch is soaked, acheing, and cold. My upper body is still hot and dry. So on top of everything else, it looks like wet myself. Oh but wait, there's more! We go into a nearby gift shop, ahead of a church youth group, to get towels and I notice this store has polished rocks. My girlfriend is big into caving and has taught me about different kinds of rocks. She's on the other side of the store when I recognize one of the kinds of rocks she likes, those purple ones. I become excited and say loudly across a crowded store, "Hey Beth! Look! There are some of those...those...Atheists!" You could hear a pin drop followed by the whiplash from the youthgroup. Embarrassed girlfriend scowls at me and says, "Those are AMETHISTS!" and walks out of the store. Now the youth group is glaring at me and I'm still cold, wet and hurting from water blast a few minutes earlier. I sheepishly dashed out of the store and tried to apologize to the girlfriend who eventually forgave me, wet pants, no brains, and all.
  22. If anybody hasn't already, try a YouTube search to see some of the CD Scorpion and Dragon custom work and layouts. Neat stuff! In one of the gallerys on the CD website, there's Cedar Point Raptor reproduction. Yeah, I needed a cigarette...and I don't smoke!
  23. This is yet another new park I've recently learned about. I like the themeing and foliage. Some of your shots look like they should be postcards. Nicely done.
  24. Looked briefly at BGE website today and didn't see a mention yet. I'm sure they'll get a link up soon. May call the number posted earlier in the thread and see about ordering.
  25. Ok, dumb question, but what happened to Zonga? is it "in storage" ala king cobra?
