I've just been reading about this film in the "Times" newspaper today, just wondered if anyone has seen or going to see this film..? I went over the Golden Gate Bridge in 1985 on a coach tour to see the "Redwood" trees in the National Park.

That is one of the most stupid things an op can do while working in the station. I hope he / she was fired

Bandit Backwards POV
verticalzero replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Racer" at KI was great fun backwards when I went on it. Bandit looks a fun coaster to ride. Is this the best coaster from "Togo"..? How about run TTD, Thunderhead or MS backwards I wish BPB turned one of it's train's / cars backwards for a while on the "Nash", "Big Dipper" or "Wild Mouse". That would be amazing. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

I can't understand why everyone is slagging this ride off, it has only moved Park, atleast CF did not "scrap" it. The General public will love the new ride at KI You have decent "Flying" coasters, the UK has mega slow "Air" at AT , all we are allowed is to transverse part of the track on our backs, there are no "Prazel or Vertical" Loops. Far 2 dangerous for UK Hoodies, Chav's etc X-Flight has gone to a good home in southern Ohio -
Villain Begins Reconstruction
verticalzero replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Trick Track needs to go near the end of the ride not at the beginning with the train running at the highest speed, no wonder people complained about beng rough etc. Trick Track dates back years ago, there was some on the "Cyclone" -
What a great idea, you can't beat a good "Hug" from someone.
-
That's a shame another park is closing / has closed. All the Cyclone needs is some TLC in re-tracking, new trains and paintwork and it will be fine. Someone please save it soon, it will be worth it esp for the "S" lift hill. Rollercoaster lift hill in Blackpool is nearly an "S". How much you u pay for the "Cyclone"..? I'll give $5,000 - $10,000, but the shipping back to the UK would be loads.

For any ride leaving a park is a great loss for some people, esp if it was their 1st coaster or their fav. I miss "Thunderlooper" at Alton Towers, I have to travel to Walibi Belgium for it's sister "Turbine". I'm sure X-Flight will be missed by many at GL but it's going to a good home at KI. CP know what they are doing and it will add a new ride to GL soon. -
Wes41190 - I know your joking about SOB getting an inversion but SOB will be "inversion-less" for the rest of its life. Personally it's a good idea to have an inversion on a woodie. How about a Zero-G roll fly past in the station on "Thunderhead". I think the Zero-G-rolls should be placed onto TTD, 1 on each side to make it 450ft high, reclaim the record back to CP
-
Are there any POV's yet of this coaster at Kemah..? Who built the Rye Aeroplane woodie..? The "Rye" coaster should be able to be built at any time, it's a question of when a Theme Park says "yes" to one of the coaster designers. Come on Thorpe Park be the 1st My dream of seeing a decent woodie in the UK made by GG with 90 degree banked corners. What other "history" woodies do you guys want to see re-built, not inc "Cyclone" by Harry.

Alien War is comming back!
verticalzero replied to Fallen Heretic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember when it was at the Troc in London, It looked very good, I happened to walk past and a couple of the actors came out of the set doors, they started walking round in the Basement. They looked much safer to be with than any english policeman, esp with those guns over their shoulders Post the info when it comes to London again, I will def have to try it even though I will get totally scared. The Troc was a great place to hang out, it's a shame it did not take off with Sega's arcade machines and the "drop tower" (now at Southsea, Hants). If "Alien War" is a Perm attraction this will boost the attendance. -
Tomb Raider Legend on PS2, nearly finished the "England" level, and it's typical weather of rain.

I don't know about in the "States" but here in the UK, most TV companies have their logo or a clock (or both) in a corner of the screen. This is so annoying as it gets burnt (called : screen burn) into your Plasma or LCD screen if you are on the same channel for a couple of hours. Some screen do have white lines which goes across the screen, but that can get fustrating if your watching a DVD, TV or playing a game. Do the TV companies do this on purpose so you have to re-gass or buy another screen in a couple of years time. ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the worst thing about owning a Widescreen TV, is the Ratio aspect: All film companies should decide what film ratio they shot their films at, 1.85 covers the whole of a widescreen TV, 2.35 produces borders on the top n bottom of a widescreen tv. The only way to get rid of them on a 2.35 film is to use "zoom" and then the picture become 2 big and makes it useless to watch. Or: The TV makers, Sony, Phillips etc should make their screen screens to fit a ratio of 2.35 or 1.85. I try to buy all of my films with DTS and 1.85 ratio, but that is not easy with the major films like "Lord of the Rings" which is shot at 2.35 ratio.

What is the most awkward thing you can say on a coaster?

Who's in Favor of School Dress Codes?
verticalzero replied to Shavethewhales's topic in Random, Random, Random
Every school should have a strict dress code, no dyed hair or piercing. I went to a Private School / Boarding School in the 80's, they had a uniform I had to wear, black socks and trousers, white shirt, red / green tie and a black blazer with the school badge on. Schools these days are 2 soft and the "cane/slipper" should be bought back to teach some a lesson in manners. The schools in the UK do not even teach the children the "times tables" anymore as they are more worried about how their school is preforming, stats etc I'm so glad I went to school and grew up in the 80's / 90's than today. Kids of today have everything so easy, no wonder they don't want to work, so lazy and hang about the streets and the corner shops. -
What's the worst song you ever heard?...

All "Black Eye Peas" songs are awful, how did they get a record label..? -
I've got no need to update my PC to "Vista". It runs perfectly with XP

Barbaro Dies Eight Months After Breakdown
verticalzero replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
I don't mind horses (I don't trust them) and it is sad when one has to be put down, I can't watch a horse race incase it miss-judges the fence, falls and lands on it's head. Why count the cost of the operations when the house can have a full life "retired" early. It's like killing a human who has broken their leg / arm. A waste of life -
Photo TR: Coney Island 1/29/07
verticalzero replied to CycloneMan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice photo's and report. I want that sign which says "Cyclone, How sweet it is". This is one of the coasters I dream of riding someday, it has stood the test of time very well. Shame the "Thunderbolt" was not saved as well. Will the "Parachut Jump" ever operate again.? Could have a new life as a "Drop Tower". -
X:\ No Way Out
verticalzero replied to Ryan King's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always said regarding X: "Re-theme and re-track the layout of it, have different coloured spot-lights, lasers and fog machines. A great example is the Scooby Doo coaster at Movie World in Aus. X: needs to have some £60,000 TLC. The main thing for Thorpe is the "Fish" has returned for revenge on Stealth I dearly miss "Phantom Fantasia / Wicked Witches Haunt", a classic dark ride which caught fire in Y2K. -
I've not visited the Park, I will never have the enjoyment of riding the 2 coasters. If "Flashback" is a 1-of-its-kind coaster, this should be saved and not scrapped, putting the coaster into storage is fine. The park can always bring it back in a few years time or give it to another 6 Flags Park. Viper looks so cool, if I ever go to SFMM this will be the 1st ride I go on when the park opens.
