  1. Blackpool also owned "Frontierland" in Morecambe till this closed in Nov 1999. The Park had a woodie called "Texas Tornado" built by "Harry Traver" which went the same way as "Cyclone" at Southport.
  2. The zig-zag section is lovely, I wish more coasters could have this and it could be "underground". Will be good to see a finished pic of the track and a POV
  3. The ride does look nice, but it could of had a cobra roll or vertical loops before the 2nd Immelman, just to make it different and to push the "Dive Floorless" envelope.
  4. All I can understand from the website is the "Submit" or "Send" button at the bottom right hand corner. Looks a good layout for the size of the park, anyone traveling in the area this year to get some close up pic's and a POV..?
  5. The 2 women got excited cos they saw someone or something and did not see they were getting on / off a tram. I always wait for things to stop before getting on ot off them. You don't hear of anyone getting hurt on the San Fran trams and they have been running for over 100 years. Poor old Disney get's it in the foot again, it's suppose to be a magical place not to get one's self an injury.
  6. People love this coaster as: 1) It was indoor's and in darkness, 100 times better than X: NWO 2) Had a great lift hill with a Spaceman, music and lights (shmae no lasers) 3) Hit the brakes at full speed and got blinded by a Spotlight. I think the tent could house a Euro-Fighter model, or another spinning coaster which can have effects like Scooby Doo in Aus Regarding a woodie at AT will be very difficult to pass the plans due to the locals hating the Park, objecting to everything which AT trys to install. I would love to see a woodie at AT, this is what they need to have esp if the ride is in a wooded section. The Log Flume could be "scrapped" and a Woodie can be built in that area.
  7. I do not tend to ride these "Haunted Swings" due to my middle ear condition, I tend to get dizzy and can't walk straight for a while after the ride has finished. I have been on all 3 and find "Villa Volta" at Efteling the best even though I could not understand what the guy was saying. Hex and Drayton's are good rides for their parks, but you can't beat Efteling for it's theaming.
  8. I read in the European Coaster Club magazine, the Cyclone will be staying, all the surrounding area around the cyclone will be cleared and a new centre will replace it. I'm sure NYC will not scrap the "Cyclone" yet, there would be 2 much of an up-roar if they did. April 1st = April Fool opening day Has the Wonder Wheel and Parachute Drop been saved by the City..? Is that a "Big Boy" Burger outlet, are they as nice as Wendy's or Burger King.
  9. It's so sad to read about the Park is fighting to live. Why can't the members of ACE and TPR get together and do some fund raising events so the "Blue Streak" can have it's service to replace some of the track etc. Any coaster should be worth saving if it is classed as a "Classic".
  10. Nice photo's Robb, BPB want to have the colours of the UK (Red,White n Blue) on their 3 coasters. It's between 10c and 12c at Blackpool, very mild for Feb (which should mean a nice hot summer), the sea make it feel colder. How many "strikes" did you get with Yetiball...? How was "Wild Mouse" running and has the "Whip" been removed from the Park..?
  11. How many S&S Power Woodies have been made so far ..? How do they compare to GG for
  12. Medusa should get re-tracked by the Park before the guests start complaining of back problems if it is that rough. Superman looks a good ride, is this a Smooth Steelie..? Nice 1st drops and 360 banked turns.
  13. I was 1/2 hour late for work today: Due to the roads being jammed and I was in a "Classic" Mini with rock hard suspension Now I feel like I have been riding a SLC "Hang n Bang" for a couple of hours..
  14. Europe always gets a bad deal from "Sony". England's price is £425. I'll be keeping my PS2 till it dies, but in truth the PS3 should be fully backward compatable with all PS2 games. No-one should have 2 machines in their house when 1 PS3 can do the whole lot. I have a PSP / DS Lite / N64 (Ultra 64 sounds better), 2 x PS2 (both on Broadband) a Gamecube and a PC (Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is played most nights) to keep me happy. I have no intrest with PS3 / Wii or 360 at this time.
  15. I'm sorry I have to moan but: That's so typical of English society, no-one cares anymore. I feel sorry for the parents, they have to help their daughters bring the kids up, the daughters have to drop out of school and not get a proper education. All English laws should be 21, not 16 for sex, get married, smoke etc. No wonder the youth of today only look after themselves. the sound said "just British teens are stupider", you got it in 1. I bet the UK will become the dumping ground of Eastern Europe within 10 years time, I do not want to be a-round when that happens. I'm moving house near Toverland in a few years time, such a better way of life in Holland, I can ride "Troy" the lovely GCI woodie all weekend
  16. If your feeling rich: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160087251047
  17. For those who are intrested: http://www.parkworld-online.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/252/Future_Beach.html
  18. I would like to see more parks install these and produce better layouts..? I would ride it, just to see what it's like, How high is the 1st drop.?
  19. I love most Choc bars made here, I seem to have a liking for M&M's at the moment. Due to loosing 1/2 of my teeth (a very sweet tooth) I have cut down a lot. When your visiting England, check out Cadbury's World nr Birmingham, they give out "free" choc: http://www.cadburyworld.co.uk/en/cworld. Last time I was in the US was 2000, I can't remember if I had any choc, but your Wendy's Triple Burgers and Cedar Point Ice Cream is amazing, the coke and pepsi is sweet and I can see why it's addictive.
  20. Anywhere which has a Theme Park, walking in the Swiss mountains during the summer, Skiiing in the French Alps or relaxing by the Pool for an afternoon and drive in the hire car to a city or town late evening. Last May I took a week off work, drove from South England to France,Belgium,Holland Germany just to visit Heide-Park,Bobbyjanland, Walibi World, Walibi Belgium, Plopsaland and De Eftling. I managed to find a local Centre Parc's in Holland which I relaxed in for the whole day, great fun nude swimming. We drove all that way with a nail in one of the car tyres.
  21. My dream last night was: I went to "Oakwood" Park in Wales, I could not find the entrance to "Megafobia". I was walking though all the shops, climbing on the roofs and I could see the lift hill appear from a Tunnel, but there was no path to get to the station. I was getting so fustrated I shouted at some of the Staff, I was chased into near-by woods by them. I did not find the path to Megafobia station. I hope this is something which will not happen when I visit the Park in early April.
  22. That is a lot of snow Lovely pic's esp the different coloured glass one. Have you ridden "Falken" yet, is it an "Airtime" woodie..?
  23. That's a wonderful beach and with clean golden sand. Amber is lovely, how old is she..?
  24. I think it's a shame she has to go into re-hab at 25, that far too young to have a meltdown. She has done so much since becoming famous. I'll have their money (have a chat with GG, B&M and Intamin to re-design Thorpe Park with a woodie, stand-up, floorless and re-create their Dark Ride = Phantom Fantasia) not their lifestyle.
  25. That's great English engineering to build something so quickly.
