  1. Thanks, I'll certainly consider getting that if the lines are bad, I'm going on the friday before the labour day weekend so fingers crossed it won't be too bad. The biggest drawback is that it doesn't apply to X, which is the coaster I most like to ride at SFMM. Damn, I'll be happy if X is even open, hopefully Tatsu is drawing all the people away from X, I went a few years ago when every ride was walk on except X, that was 2-3 hours.
  2. I am going to SFMM on Fri 1 Sept (and prob 17 Sept) and I was curious about that VIP flash pass because I can't find anything about it on their website. For starters, how much is it (I hope I didn't miss that on the TR)?
  3. Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England, my no.1 coaster at a surprisingly pleasant Six Flags park.
  4. I've been on Dragster, Storm Runner, Xcelerator, and Superman Escape, and they were all smooth consistent launches. Superman Escape is unusual because the straight launch track is angled upwards towards the base of the top hat - even though SE is only around 63 mph it was intense because it gets to that speed in a very short distance. Hopefully Kingda Ka will be open when I get GAdv in late August to compare.
  5. Flyers, stand-ups, and those Intamin reverse free falls never really caught on anyway. Hypers seem to have stood the test of time, and they haven't done anything interesting (intense yes) yet with Rockets.
  6. Marrying money it's a full time job / I don't need the aggravation I'm a lazy slob - Rolling Stones, Hang Fire
  7. Out of what I have ridden - Dragster's launch and first drop, which is why I rate it so highly, doesn't do much but it is a blast. Magnum's bunny hop run in the ejector seat (1.3) is brutal. The second camel back on SFNE ride of steel after the first turn around, especially around the front. SFMM Goliath's helix before they tamed it down, I even know a very prominent Cedar Point fanboy who passed out on that.
  8. Thanks for all the tips, I won't be going that far over the border if I go. A few credits isn't worth getting my wallet and passport stolen. At least I'll get Belmont Park and Sea World credits. Gotta love Tijuana, it seems to be the fake capital of the world. Last time I was there they had the real Hard Rock Cafe and a shop selling fake Hard Rock shirts next door. I was warned even the women are fake at the strip shows - men in drag. Yes, I've heard about the donkey's also, even though this board is Donkey themed a Photo TR would be a bit much, I reckon I would throw if I had to watch that.
  9. No, if you are talking about Lance Bass the happy guy from n'sync. Is Tom Cruise full of $h!t?
  10. A kiwi guy at work got an inflatable sheep for Christmas, they are the perfect gift for any New Zealander. I didn't know the English had the need for inflatable sheep as well.
  11. I will be in San Diego in Sept and sure to be heading to Tijuana, and I was wondering if anyone has been to this park: Amusement Park: Mundo Divertido Address: Via Rápida Poniente No. 15035, Fraccionamiento San José 2a. Etapa, Desarrollo Urbano Río Tijuana Tijuana, Baja California 22610 Mexico They have three coasters so there is a bit of credit whoring on offer.
  12. No, but I will be soon. Is it just me or is Jerry Seinfeld annoying?
  13. How could you not like Heathers? The Vidiot from UHF which is a Weird Al Yankovich vehicle has many great moments including Wheel of Fish, Conan the Librarian, and Gandhi II. It also introduced us to Michael Richards in what was close to his Kramer character in Seinfeld. Also Eurotrip rocks, but just don't tell scotty.
  14. Doesn't Kingda Ka have a system where the launch is calibrated based on the wieght of the train so it won't roll back, or has it rolled back. Storm Runner doesn't have very far to go up so imagine rollbacks are rare. I have been told on good authority that Superman Escape at Movie World has not rolled back yet.
  15. I really don't like those old school simulator rides, I hope they do a real ride. I'll be at Universal in sept near the end of my trip, I won't be going on Back to the Future if it is still open.
  16. You'll have to do a Photo TR if you're going, maybe you could sneak a camera on the Gerbil ride.
  17. I am wondering if it is a portable powered kiddie coaster, there a couple floating around Australia. I use Coaster Counter so it probably wouldn't count as a credit anyway even if it was a coaster.
  18. Yeah Sexpo is just down the road from where I work, I don't think I am enough of a credit whore to ride a Gerbil coaster. I've never been to Sexpo but it would make a funny trip report, maybe not, got better things to do this weekend. But lots of hot porno chicks and a possible coaster credit, but I don't have a trenchcoat and I'm not a pervert. Has any of the TPR Aussie contingent been (and would admit to it)? It says in the ad in the newspaper it will be on in Brisbane as well sometime - Rabid reporting from sexpo, cmon Rabs we need a Gerbil coaster POV, I don't have a video camera so I couldn't do it anyway?
  19. Pump Up the Volume with Christian Slater as Happy Harry Hard On Dawn of the Dead (the original) Ace Ventura (both) Clerks, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
  20. Cell by Stephen King, it was really good but the end could have been a bit better.
  21. Tom Cruise is a total wanker - classical little man syndrome. I loved that South Park episode with him in it, they showed it on TV in Sydney last year when he was in town for a funeral - "and Tom Cruise still won't come out of the closet." He was going to sue over that episode.
  22. I'll have to try getting some darts action going with my fellow backpackers when I am in LA next month. I may have to borrow some porn from the guys though.
  23. I got called up and was on a fraud trial that went for five days, it was boring - our verdict was guilty. Didn't hang around for the sentencing. The worst part I was walking through the city about a year later, and I walked past this guy and remembered the face and thought were do I know him from...lucky he wasn't a psychopath, just an idiot. My friend's dad was a judge at the courts so at least I was able bum a lift.
  24. I agree that New York is the better option, in Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags New England you will get some awesome coasting, personally I would go with that if you have to choose. There is also plenty of other good parks around that a little further away. Also NYC has plenty of hostels and cheap accomodation. I will be flying to NYC on 26 Aug, and I will be catching a Greyhound up to Springfield to go to SFNE as a day trip, and Great Adventure on 1 or 2 other days depending on how well I go with El Toro. I'm pretty excited about that. I've been to NYC before, so if you need any recommendations on accomodation or how to get to parks by public transport, let me know.
  25. I agree, good trip report, end of story. I don't give a XXXX about Aussie A$$holes in all seriousness.
