The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou "We must stop the killing, or we lose the war"
-
I'm 40 mins door to door, walk to the train station get off at the other end and walk to work, quite easy.
-
I am at elite level in two sports so I pretty much do something everyday, when I am not actually playing sport I work mainly at: Speed - varying length sprints predominantly 10, 20, 40 metres and plyometrics. Endurance - 6 - 8 km timed runs using mainly very hilly terrain, and sand hill running. Agility - various agiility drills, I wear a weight vest to make it harder. Speed Endurance - sets of 40 * 20m sprints. Strength - core stability exercises and a little bit of weights (I get too big if I do much weights). I have a national training camp tomorrow from 9am - 5pm on saturday and 9am - 2pm on sunday. The first part will be the testing which will involve speed tests, followed by a beep test (followed by my death if I go past level 16), agility test, then speed endurance test. At least it's in Sydney.

Most unfortunate rock band break-up?
downunder replied to BeemerBoy's topic in Random, Random, Random
The Clash gets my vote - they kind of imploded, it's a shame because they could have kept going. Guns and Roses was a sad waste, because Axl wouldn't take his medication but I guess there isn't a cure or way of medicating against being a dickhead. -
What's your favorite Austin Powers villian?
downunder replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Random, Random, Random
Allotta Fagina, the spa scene - that was just incredible. Fat Bastard was the funniest, and Gold member was the lamest. -
Also be careful not to make the mistake I did which was change the rode this year to Y for my new credits but I forgot to put Y in the rode at all column but I am sure his program can handle that, I hope, because I want my vote on El Toro to count. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the stoush between El Toro and The Voyage.

2006 Coaster Season Stats
downunder replied to DerekRx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
current coastercount: 128 new coasters ridden this year: 7 Parkvisits: 9 Different parks: 6 parks (3 new) Park visited the most: Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Movie World Aust (2 visits each) Most ridden wood coaster: El Toro (10 times) Most Ridden Steel Coaster: Tatsu (7 times) Highlights: El Toro (totally awesome), Superman Escape (Movie World, surprisingly impressive), Tatsu (best flyer ever), Kingda Ka (finally got the credit, not as good as TTD IMO). Gold Q-bot at Great Adventure - just brilliant Lowlights: X closed as usual, Magic Mountain and Great Adventure still suck in terms of guest experience. -
I just added my two new wood credits to my last years poll and updated whether I had ridden them this year or not - I have so few wood coasters (21). And I only have 5 new steel credits to add for the steel poll - very sad. This is a really great poll, hopefully no clowns try rigging the steel poll this year.

What is the worst B&M/intamin/GCI
downunder replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Intamin: definitely Flashback followed by Le Cobra at La Ronde. B & M: I haven't been on any really bad B & M's, same for GCI. -
Cool trip report, I really like SFNE, why ride the rest when you can ride the best, SROS is as good as it gets for my money. The day I went last year, I was on the bus from springfield to the park and I overheard a six flags employee saying that they only had 48 people the day before! Ahh, go straight to SROS, get on and then not get off until you are ready to leave the park.

How insulting...
downunder replied to thrillmaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought they already had a Gangsta's Paradise amusement park, I think it's called Six Flags Great Adventure. Though someone did a fair impression of Dave Chappelle's crack head character waiting for Deja Vu at MM to get going. Pedroland, that's not offensive at all, maybe they will make Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, SF Krazy Kentucky Kingdom. The next lot of TPR hoodies could come in white with an extra pointy hood. Note: making a joke not saying Kentuckians are all KKK members. There's also Queens town in new zealand, a very thrilling place, so I've heard. -
I've seen plenty of horror films and I still have no idea. The quote would suggest a hotel setting and the only that springs to mind immediately is The Shining.
-
My quote ("What's a nurse with dirt on her knees") may be a little hard, it is from a trashy police academy rip-off called Night Patrol which starred Linda Blair (the girl from excorcist who has developed nicely since then), and the unknown comic, and also an appearance from academy award winner Pat Morita. The line is a one line joke with the punchline "the head nurse". Night Patrol would have to be one of the worst movies of all times but I like the unknown comic's stand up in the movie. I have no idea where "I just don't like the smell of wet linen. It's such a...creepy smell. C'mon." comes from, I wish I did.

Now I know why, so they can score one of those parent swap passes like they have at Cedar Point, and also charge credit whores ten dollars for an accompanying kid to get those kiddie coaster credits. Bags not being on the screaming baby bus on the midwest trip.
-
Congratulations. That kid may come in handy on future TPR trips, everyone will be borrowing little Alvey to get those elusive credits like Pterandon Flyers.
-
That is just horrifying, the park would have been like the shopping mall parking lot in Dawn of the Dead. Great Adventure is bad at the best of times, line wise - what like 10 hour wait for Kingda Ka.
-
spammers, they are just the most useless people on earth, I am a mod on another coaster board and I am constantly fighting off a tide of spammers.

Animal House, from Bluto Blutarsky's inspirational speech. "What's a nurse with dirt on her knees?"

Rollercoasters and contact lenses.
downunder replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have worn contacts when riding front row for Dragster, and Kingda Ka and never had a problem. I can see how a flyer might be a problem when you are in the horizontal position but I haven't a problem on either of the flyers I have been on - SUF at GAdv and Tatsu. -
I thought Scream's parking lot theme was very authentic with the white lines and all. I rode both not that long ago, and I would give my vote to Medusa for better scenery, you could watch the monkey's as you are going up the lift. Neither were rough when I rode them, albeit I only rode them both at the front. I don't recall either of them being noticeably braked except at the usual mid course, anyone have an opinion on the braking? Medusa in San Fran is a lot bigger, and looks like one of the best if not the best floorless?

Is this a coaster?
downunder replied to philcoaster83's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I definitely think they should count for no better reason than it means two more credits for me. Seriously they do have a lifthill and they use gravity in the same a bobsled coaster does (as Robb observed), so definitely maybe - my head's for it but not my heart - they are fun though. -
best hyper in europe?
downunder replied to manu4eva's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If I ever went to Europe, I would seek out the hypers of Europe/UK in this order: 1. Expedition Ge Force 2. Goliath 3. Silver Star 4. Pepsi Max Big One If they built an Expedition Ge Force quality hyper in Australia I'd never leave the country, in fact, I'd probably move to where ever it is, if it's not Sydney. -
Professional Photos of WBMW at night
downunder replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, it is a bit of a hassle, Rabid One was asking me last night if they had lockers outside the parks at Universal Orlando in case he can't take his tripod into the park when he is there. -

downunder replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the coaster kid wrote I've managed to get a lot of good shots at night stting the camera on something like a trashcan or a fence in because I don't have a tripod, that was a good tip from Rabid One. You might already know that but just in case you didn't. Gnome wrote We do have peak seasons but they don't have the parks open at night for some reason, it is a real novelty for the parks on the Gold Coast to be open at night. It might have something to do with the neighbours but I don't know for sure.
