  1. Anything on the Stratosphere Tower, they were just horrifying - I hate heights.
  2. I thought that I learned everything I know about perversion from the films of Kevin Smith (Clerks etc), that is not 100% correct - TPR and Kevin Smith have taught me everything I know about perversion. I'll never look at Thunder Dolphin the same again.
  3. Six Flags Great Adventure sucks as a park but it has some very good coasters including El Toro, and Nitro, and the largest/fastest in the world - Kingda Ka. Six Flags New England has arguably the best coaster on the planet Superman Ride of Steel and is a relatively nice park for Six Flags. Cedar Point is a thrilling park, they have the 420' Top Thrill Dragster, 310' Millennium Force, the great invert Raptor, the great hyper Magnum, as well as 12 (soon to be 13) other coasters, which range from very good to pretty average. Those three are in the North East, so they could be done in one trip. Orlando also has a large concerntration of parks with some very good coasters and there is busch gardens not too far away Tampa which has some great coasters.
  4. I liked Chappelle's parody of Samuel L Jackson - "I was in Deep Blue Sea, a shark ate me, a f%&*$ shark ate me." You've got a point there on deep blue sea, I watched it as a deadly serious suspense movie. Has anyone read the book of the original Jaws by Peter Benchley, that is very good as well.
  5. Jaws for me, that is one of the best movies ever made. Jaws the Revenge (No. 4) on the other hand, one of the worst, I don't think Michael Caine includes this or his Steven Seagal movie on his resume'. I thought Deep Blue Sea sucked as well, the CGI sharks were dreadful.
  6. I last saw Screech fighting Horshack from Welcome Back Kotter in a celebrity boxing match, Screech did win that fight very convincingly at least. I looked up dirty sanchez, that is just so wrong almost as bad as Kinky Kelly and the Sexy Stud from Clerks 2 (I learned everything I know about perversion from Kevin Smith).
  7. Even though I had to practically dislocate a hip to get on it, I thought Timberline Twister was kind of cute. I don't if Flying Unicorn at IOA counts as a kiddie. Has anyone who is "ineligible" ever managed to get on Goliath Jr (I know I certainly have tried)?
  8. If it was based on how much value he has added to Six Flags he would owe them, he talked the talk but he didn't walk the walk as far as I am concerned - another dissatisfied Sux Flags customer. So much for so little, maybe Shapiro and Snyder are real close.
  9. I have to admit the duffle bag add on looks like it will be popular, is it twin share?
  10. Sandusky also has one of the more desolate Greyhound Bus Stations, and tons of Eastern European girls in summer.
  11. What's so special about Sandusky...oh yeah I know - that's where the David Spade / Chris Farley film Tommy Boy was set, David Spade rules (Rabid One is seeing him in Vegas, I'm so jealous). Any chance we are staying onsite at CP (just curious)? I loved it when they always upgraded me at Hotel Breakers
  12. That would be a real shame if it closed because it is a really good ride (based on only riding Robin), six flags maintenance budgets probably haven't helped this ride.
  13. I picked up "Make Love - the Bruce Campbell Way" at Beverly Hills Borders not long ago and it was the funniest book ever, I read it in a day. Has anyone read this, and if so, what did they think? I knew the guy from Evil Dead and Bubba Ho Tep, but I didn't know he could write and he does it well.
  14. I think Boomerangs were chosen because there are so many in so many parks, and they get passed around more than a Chino Prison bitch. Like we had one in Sydney and now it's in Alabama, before that, it was in Brisbane.
  15. I can exclusively reveal that the 2008 tour will go to every park in North America that has a 1st generation Vekoma Boomerang (including 6-8 hours ERT at each park on the said boomerangs), the catchprase for the tour will be: "the lucky ones died first." (I lifted that line from hills have eyes)
  16. That heartline really stood out in the animation for me as well, the next generation of head choppers - head smashers, it will scary at speed. I was non plussed when I first saw 105 foot height but I am warming to this coaster big time, how many other good ones out there that are a bit over 100 foot - Nemesis, Batman inverts, Hulk and so on.
  17. Viper at SFMM 17 Sept, tried riding Goliath and Revolution as my last ride but they were both broken down.
  18. I like Knott's better than SFMM as a park albeit I have only been there when it has been deserted and all the rides have been operating so I have had a great time everytime - so I haven't had a problem with operations - I thought Xcel was down on my last visit because it wasn't going up but that was just because there was no one there to ride it. SFMM still has the edge for coasters but Knott's has a lot of quality in what it does have. I think Knott's are two great coasters (an expedition Ge Force quality hyper would be nice) short of making an MM visit unnecessary, and with a little more attention to theming they could make the park much more immersive in the IOA vein.
  19. I'm sure the winners and their parties will be greeted with a sign at the front with a long list of rides not operating that day. It seems everyone I spoke to in the GP (including tour operators) seems convinced that SFMM is closing this year, the marketing is working.
  20. Glad you enjoyed El Toro, I rode it at the end of August and I thought it was awesome. Love your videos, I've downloaded them all. Kingda Ka blows, I rode it at the front and it wasn't nearly as shaky but it still wasn't very good, it was very shaky everywhere else I rode (I think 3rd and 4th row), and it really took away the sensation of speed. Top Thrill Dragster owns Kingda Ka big time. I usually leave Great Adventure with a bad taste in my mouth, good coasters but such a bad park, it took a Gold Flash Pass to save my last visit (30 aug) from being awful.
  21. The other prize is an lifetime exit pass for every park in the world (or thereabouts) because you will be in a wheel chair for life after 13 hours. I would give it a try if I lived in the area.
  22. the sound wrote Thanks for reminding me, I have been on Thrillseeker, and also High Roller at Stratosphere.
  23. Big Dipper (original) at Luna Park Sydney Wildcat at Luna Park Sydney Thunderbolt at Dreamworld Gold Coast Bush Beast at Wonderland Sydney Beastie at Wonderland Sydney Flashback at SFMM (assuming it will be scrapped) I have not counted relocated rides.
  24. I think familiarity breeds contempt and being an enthusiast and going to parks a lot can take a little of the magic away. I spent so much time at Cedar Point in 03,04, and 05 I really didn't feel like going there this year, even though it's a great place. My Disneyland binge in 2001 has kept me away from there ever since.
  25. I don't live anywhere near any coaster park (with the exception of a park with a solitary wild mouse), the nearest one is over 1000km away, and the west coast of the US is 10000km away, so I have enforced layoffs, which isn't a bad thing because when I go to the US I binge on coasters til I'm sick of them. Out of all the coasters I have been on (130 so far), SROS at New England, and El Toro are the only two coasters I haven't gotten bored of after 6 rides or more. After about six months at home, the desire to ride comes back again, and I start planning the next trip. At the end of the day I want to ride the best coasters and other ride experiences, the rest is not that important to me but I'll ride them if I'm at the park.
