It doesn't necessarily have to be a huge rocket in the $25-30 million range, they could get something really groovy in the $15 million range, they did the rather fun rocket superman escape in Oz for $16 million australian and that was with tons of theming. A larger B & M is at least $20 m these days. What could it be? It might be something disappointing that is just over hyped like Paramount described Italian Job "as the announcement you have been waiting for", er, I'm still waiting.

They should move Goliath from SFMM to SFOT, because that would be the most stupid move ever. It will be interesting to see who gets what from SFMM if it does close, I have already heard rumours from the west coast. They've got a hyper, so maybe an Intamin pre-fab woodie that would be nice, and they are possibly next up for a rocket coaster of some variety, a flyer would be an attraction even if us enthusiasts are mostly over flyers. Oh well, Monday isn't that far away.

Parks that let you down!
downunder replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Magic Mountain is always a let down (X is the only thing I love and it's always closed), so is Great Adventure - except with a gold Q-bot. La Ronde pre Goliath (haven't been post Goliath), was just awful. Epcot circa 1994 was a fantastic cure for insominia, as is Australia's own Dreamworld on the gold coast. -
Ruthless People, I love that quote. BTW Scary Movie 4 was correct. "What does it all mean? F***ed if I'd know."

For starters, just don't go on a day I go because it will definitely be closed just to piss me off, that is irrespective of whether it was running the day before, or has been shut for six months. It's practically a 4th dimensional Flashback. It's the only reason I would go Tragic Mountain. At least the disclosure that it will be open in 2007 might suggest that the park might actually be operating in 2007, instead of being a bunch of houses.

What is the last thing you've eaten?

Chicken and Pasta salad -
Snatch, a rather good movie, poor old Guy Ritchie having to be married to Madogga. "What's his name? I might've already loved him."
-
Death to Smoochie, not bad movie, love the title. "All dressed up and no one to blow"

I was curious about Germany too, how easy is it to get around Germany, is language a barrier at all? I'd really like to hit Germany and Scandanavia at some stage.

The Professional, I love that movie, featuring Natalie Portman prior to becoming a hottie. I can't remember what Cheech and Chong movie, pretty sure it's up in smoke. "The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel. It'd take you ten minutes to hack through it with this. Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes."

Are You Cool With Your Old Flames????
downunder replied to JamesMC's topic in Random, Random, Random
Like never, they always seem to want me more than I want them after a while, I just get bored, I tend to go with whatever girl likes me who is good looking, one day I'll grow up. At least my friends are always impressed. The idea of being married with a family doesn't do anything for me either. I'm not generally a shallow person but this part of my life is very shallow. -
Sorry Rob, I mistakenly thought you were referring to it as Hunt for Red October. Russ Meyer, every red blooded male has a reason to enjoy his films, well, two good reasons and many of them. I was going to do a quote from one of his film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls but I will do something else. "If you had another brain, it would die of loneliness"

"One more slider...", has already been answered, it is from the "Hunt for Red October". Part of the fun is to put up quotes that are amusing and interesting, people can google if they want.

Poll: What do you base your ride rankings on?
downunder replied to Olsor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most recent ride, I base my actual rankings on whether I would ride one coaster over another, there are only two super special coasters I have been on that would rather ride than anything else I have been on - SROS at SFNE and El Toro. I also give them both 10/10 because they are my favourites and they are in the world's best. -
One more slider flake, and it's wipeout I have no idea on this quote, it's obviously a baseball movie of which I have seen many. I could see Kevin Costner saying that to Tim Robbins at practice in Bull Durham, Major League maybe, the natural - probably not. You'll have to help me out on that one. That is so cool your mom worked with Tom Savini, he's a total legend, was she painting the Zombies blue in DOTD, did she make any appearances as a zombie in the film because I know a lot of the SFX people had roles in the film. I actually watched the extended version last weekend, that even has an appearance by the guy who plays Rhodes in Day of the Dead in a short part.

I'm a huge fan of Kate Bosworth, she is so hot and she is in Sydney right now, drool. Serial Mom??? (I almost got that confused with pillowpants from Clerks 2) - John Waters at his most repectable, haven't seen his more out there stuff. "Open the window, Mark"
-
Mee the Feebles - ahh, Peter Jackson before he went all respectable, I'm with Randall on LOTR. Bad Taste was actually banned in Aust at one stage. There's still plenty of time to get pregnant and go on welfare
-
Sgt Kabukiman NYPD - I didn't like that one as much as some of the others. The pope's a jew, if that sheila doesn't bang like a dunny door
-
Tromeo and Juliet - just watched Surf Nazi Must Die and Toxic Avenger not that long ago, Troma is hilarious. We invented cold showers to stop people masturbating
-
The Doom Generation They f*** you at the drive through
-
Heathers - love that movie "Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes"
-
Hot Shots I want to talk to samson...bitch
-
Rocky 4 The price is wrong...bitch.

what coaster did you severely underestimate
downunder replied to methos's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I underestimated Superman Escape at Warner Bros Movie World, I thought - only 100 km/h (62mph) launch and 133' feet high, it's going to be quite tame but it really surpised me, the launch over a short distance and slightly going uphill was surprisingly intense, the ejector airtime on the bunnyhills was impressive, and the themed section before the launch was Universal like in quality. -
Apocalypse Now (the horror, the horror). "painting the town beige"
