Dreamport ! [RCT 2]
Reon replied to J K's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hey JK! Great job on the park so far. I have a quick obvious question to ask: Which version of RCT2 do you use? I figure someone will ask eventually.... -
Which Coaster Gives The Best AIRTIME???
Reon replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Phoenix at Knoebels. 3rd row....that is all Aside from the free flight epic airtime that is Phoenix, I'd say some of my better pops of air come from the back of Cornball and Screamin Eagle...Blue Streak seems pretty good too from my recent trips to CP this year. Diamondback has consistant pops, but its light and floaty-not wild out of control airtime that just tosses you into the sky and makes you beg for more. -
Its about time you posted the not-so-great Coney adventure, Big Mike! I've been constantly monitoring the Road Show every day waiting for you to show the world just how awesome Cincy's other seasonal park is (I'm not counting Strickers since its only open a few days a year.) Once again, it was great to meet you for the 3rd time that weekend (also at HW and ofcourse KI), and I'm happy you enjoyed your short visit at the park I love....Coney may not be as good as KI, but its got immense history. It's gone through countless floods, many park redesigns, and without Coney, Kings Island would have never existed! (Funfact for those of you that didn't know: after the 1972 flood, Coney moved all its big rides to Mason and formed what became Kings Island) Anyways, awesome job as always, and pretty cool venture you just got Big Man! REON!!!!!!!!!11111!one!

Stoksy's RCT2 Coaster Contest
Reon replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I guess I'm in. I just a new computer that can actually play the game again (aka not a mac), so I could use a challenge now that I've got my RCT2 groove back. -

Looks like yet another epic creation from you, DBru. I can't wait to see how this one progresses! (Plus now that I have a new computer, I can actually play and dl RCT2 stuff again...) Do you use any expansions? -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
Reon replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In no specific order(?) Chaos: Nothing compares to the ability to freely flip in all those crazy angles TipTop: Teacups meets hydrolics meets round up=INSANE!!!!!!!!!! 1st Gen Drop Tower: All things with airtime are good to me, but I just prefer Demon Drop to its new age cousins.... Flyers: Need I say why? Cosmotron: Himilaya done right, and one of the reasons I love Knoebels -

^Mantis has been running two trains for a while now. It tends to take an entire ride cycle to get a train in the station fully loaded and ready, and thats at Cedar Point speed. Who knows how slow SF takes it. -
Seconded. Kamen Rider is like PR...except GOOD. The latest one (That pink and black watermellon-looking dude) wasnt that good, but they just started a new series that looks pretty promising. Aaaaaaaaaaanyways, awesome TR is awesome. Keep those updates coming, and have fun in Japan!

Coming back from CP today (awesome day by the way) I really came to respect Planet Snoopy. The theming was pretty good, or atleast accurate and consistent throughout the area. As for the rides, if I weren't pre-occupied with marathoning Blue Streak and Chaos, I probabbly would have hit a few of the ones adults could ride... Anyways, KI is my true home park so I guess I need to voice my opinions on it. Through the kiddy park's hisoty, the one phase I associate with is Nick (universe) Though I grew up with Phantom Theater and Beastie in my first years, Avatar and Scooby soon became my main memories of what used to be Hanna Barbara. It will certainly be interesting to see how they retheme everything to Peanuts, especially Scooby since its a large scale dark ride. -
Good to know. One other quick question...Wolverine looks kind of like a Phoenix clone from the pics I saw on RCDB. Am I horribly wrong, or does it actually deliver?

So, I'm at Bowling Green State University now down in Bowling Green, OH. Its about an hour away from America's Rockin' Roller Coast, and ~4 from both Waldameer and MiA. While I plan on hitting both parks before the season ends, it seems like this will be my last weekend to hit up Michigan for free thanks to my Platinum Pass (Dont worry, CP fanboys...I've already been to the Point twice since I arrived in BG and I'm going again tommarow ) Anyways, on to the question...How much time do you think it would take to hit everything? I see the park's open from 11-9 this Sunday, and it will be approximately a 4 hour drive to go up and back. I don't want to completely ware myself out, but I would like to get all the credits and hopefully also the other park perks in onmy visit. Advice away TPR-ers! And thanks in advance.

After seing the POV and renderings, I'm half and half on the ride. Pros: Airtime? Twisty Goodness At that speed, the low to the ground layout should be insanely forceful Cons: Those restraints! If this is anything like Maverick, they'll be quite unconfortable... At that speed, the low to the ground layout should be pretty painful Possible lack of airtime -
Ive been on one of those at a local fair last year. Its actually pretty fun! The hill in the middle gives some air in the back, and the turnaround is nothing worse than a wild mouse....

The only problem is with KI getting Diamondback this year and atleast 3 CF parks getting something big next year, I have a feeling they cant afford to retrack/demolish SoB until atleast 2011. For now I think its just gonna be SBNO until they have the resources to make something better. -

We've got lots of ACErs here. It's called not taking yourself too seriously. Yeah, its more of an inside joke to make fun of ACErs. Nothing more serious than Yo Gabba Gabba or taking the tunnel LoL. -
Could you make me one with Phoenix? Also if you can manage to merge them right, Maverick too. Its fine if you can only do Phoenix though...thats the important one.

JZ's actually been a Diamondback ride op for about a month now. I guess he never really announced it to the world of TPR. So much for our in dept KI man.... Anyways, gotta chime in on stuff. SoB possibly opening again is kind of a suprise to me. Sure it keeps the coaster count up, all the records going, and all that fun stuff, but IMO from a KI local its not worth it. SoB's gone through a few health issues already, and its just not a good ride. Sure there are times where it could be fun, but you have to be willing to take a beating to get the good seats (ie S&M the ride). I'm definately on the tear it down and make something good bandwagon, but with Diamondback being built this year, SoB will probabbly still stand for a year or 2 before they have the money to replace it.... So yeah, Diamondback for the win. My fave at KI and my 2nd favorite steel. -

^Good to know... Kozmo looks pretty sweet. I accpected it to have a faster lift as a tribute to HSTC, but I suppose its still in the testing phases more or less. Then again, I havent been able to get down there yet, so it could still be a great ride (and since its Knoebels, it is probabbly epic.) -

Kozmo looks awesome. I think its a factory coaster, and not something custom, but it fits the area perfectly and looks absolutely beautiful. Just another of example of why Knoebels is hands down my favorite park of all times! I really need to get back out there... -

Yeah, Diamondback shakes a little at the bottom of the 2nd-4th hills. Its barely noticable on a single ride, but if you start to marathon it it does become identifiable. I was marathoning it one day to get to 50, and actually got a headache after my 15th lap of the day....
