  1. If I remember correctly, Ravine Flyer II was originally supposed to open with those.
  2. They're getting the Starflyer AND a junior boomerang as well? I can't even imagine where they plan to squeeze this in if so, but I know they'll find a way. I can't wait to see how it turns out! The webcam shows they have the site prepped for said Starflyer. Either work has not begun for the coaster yet, or it is not in view of the webcam.
  3. It also seems that there is a piece in place at the bottom of the first drop.
  4. This project, with the events mentioned in Larry's most recent update, has evolved from the preservation of the dark attraction to the possible advent of what could eventually be the next Knoebels. I approve!
  5. There's also a clone of it at Toverland that just opened in September. I think it looks like a really fun ride.
  6. The loop on SoB was steel, so I wouldn't count it anyway. Not sure how I feel about this...If it's successful, great. If not, oh well. Just throwing this out there...Waldameer...don't get any ideas. Ravine Flyer II might have a far turnaround too, but it's fine the way it is.
  7. Star Jet made the cover of People Magazine:
  8. I would be very surprised if CP removed Corkscrew. It's one of the most iconic and photographed rides in the park. Other rides may come and go, but I see it being one of the rides the park invests a significant amount in to keep it as long as possible.
  9. If Kennywood's event is anything to go by, those of you in New England are in for a treat.
  10. I'm not ruling out the possibility of me being blind, but I don't see anything there about track being removed.
  11. Morgan did quite well with the Phantom's Revenge in 2009 when all remaining Arrow track from the top of the lift hill on was replaced. I don't think CF would go this route, but it's certainly possible and it would produce a decent end result. Then again, Morgan (to my knowledge) has not made any inverting coaster track, but I don't see why that would be an issue.
  12. The other two rides are almost definitely Zamperla...having worked on a Jumpin' Star 16 myself, at least that tower ride is almost certainly one. I'm really liking the theming on that Air Race. I was wondering when we'd see a diversion from the standard airplane theme.
  13. It would turn Full Throttle into stupiditycoaster.
  14. Until an aerial photo of the pier surfaces, I can only assume it survived. Casino Pier didn't seem to be hit as badly as Funtown (though that is definitely an understatement), and the area the ride is located seems to be standing still. I wonder if whoever flew over the area and took the photo of Funtown's remains took one of Casino Pier too...
  15. Just found this picture on Facebook: Pretty blurry, but it looks like the entire end of Casino Pier is gone. Star Jet, Centrifuge, Stillwalk Manor and the Log Flume all appear to have been destroyed, and it wouldn't surprise me if other nearby rides have been lost as well. Very sad.
  16. As far-fetched as it sounds, is there any chance that Ghostrider could be getting refurbished with this as its new name?
  17. Here's concept art of the water park; this is the highest resolution I can find.
  18. Delgrosso's has one, formerly from Cypress Gardens.
  19. The "new entry plaza" for Splashin' Safari makes me think it's for the area east of the Voyage, where Plunge/Giraffica and Rhino Blast will be. Just my guess...I'm thinking it'll still connect to the existing Thanksgiving area. Even if its theme is changed to match Splashin' Safari, I don't see why you wouldn't still be able to get to it. Congrats to Holiday World on their continued growth!
  20. There does appear to be a bit more room than just the land the coaster itself sits on, though. A parcel of what looks like unused land (from the eye of someone who's never visited and only has satellite imagery to go by, anyway) sits directly south of the ride, and would almost double the amount of usable space after Tree Top Racers is removed. It still isn't a lot to work with, but it's a start. RCDB also lists this new coaster as being steel, so no Wooden Warrior-esque woodie, it appears.
  21. Here is a website detailing proposed changes. NewsplusNotes has images of the plan that apparently come from this website, but I can't seem to find them to directly link them here, so here they are from NPN: It would appear that almost all of the park to the left of the central midway is being preserved, minus the Zombie Castle which unfortunately looks like it will be demolished to allow the Yo-Yo and Kite Flyer to be moved from the right side. All other rides on the right side, minus the Grand Carousel, look like they will be removed.
  22. If there is concern for the tower's falling path, perhaps it won't fall to the side. The entire ride could be rigged to collapse straight downward from implosion. Falling over would arguably be more exciting, though. We'll just have to see.
  23. Personally, I think this description fits Holiday World to a tee. Sure, they need to figure out Voyage and its Timberliners, but something like this ride would be epic to kick off a Valentine's Day section, and once they get the Timberliners cooperating, they hopefully wouldn't have a problem with something like this.
